The Dog House, well it is one of my favorite places on the ranch. It a great, very flat spot under the aspens; right next to one of the springs that feed the creek. But - it is a bit close to the house. Though there is a row of trees along the creek that blocks the view to the house. Why is this an issue? The Great Pyrenees ranch dogs. These gentle giants are a bit nocturna
These gentle giants are a bit nocturnal. They feel it is their job (and it is) to announce to the world the presence of just about everything that goes bump in the night. Foxes, deer, elk, coyotes, barn cat, frogs and at times I think mosquitoes. They might even like to visit you. So, if you feel brave, don't mind a chance of working dog noise, or a possible visit of hairy white dogs, go for it. Better photos Plus, there will be a table, chairs and firepit too.

Loved it! Lots of pups and animals roaming, the dog pack took a liking to our pup and they spent a lot of time lounging together. Incredible property, great campsites, very well maintained :)
Camping with animal friends
We loved this place. We had the site closest to the house but you still had privacy from the trees. We loved all of the dogs, the llamas, alpacas and applejack the little pony.
Absolutely beautiful setting in the air smells so good. We led that the animals roamed freely so they could come visit us at our campsite. Nick, my grandson said” Debbie was so nice. She was such a great conversation starter. She let me just roam around and say hi to the animals“
We’re totally recommend this place
We loved the camp it was open and safe. We would definitely stay there again. It was a little difficult to find but we finally go there and had a nice time. You have to turn right at the Rustic Creek sign and go in thru Black gate. Very nice place
The directions were clear and easy to follow to get to our spot. We really enjoyed being surrounded by aspens with the creek super close. There are several other camping spots on Deb's property, but no one was close and it still felt private. The porta potty was incredibly clean and only a short walk up the hill. An added bonus was getting to feed and pet the pony and alpacas on our last morning. It was a great stay for our family, which includes a toddler. We love that HipCamp has made it possible for people like Deb to share her beautiful home and property with those of us that need a little getaway. This was exactly what we were looking for.
We camp all over Colorado. And, this is our new fave. We loved everything about the ranch. What a great experience. Llamas, alpacas, a mini horse, and a pack of the kindest Great Pyrenees around. Deborah was over the top fantastic. An amazing host and caretaker of the land. We have two kids and two dogs. The dogs were never bothered by the gentle giants (the Great Pyrenees) or the ranch animals. The kids loved every bit of it. Beautiful land with plenty fun all around. We will be coming back.
