In the woods, in the forest, on huge rocks, flat land or turn around and see CR 1 ( 1/4 mile driveway). Forty five minutes west of Colorado Springs, ten miles to Divide for grocers. One half mile to ice, gas, pizza etc.  It is first come first serve with the sites.  Two that are near trees for large RVs.  One up higher works for pull thru trailers.  Plenty of room in the pasture.  I just got my first negative review referring to it being dry prairie land.  Some  pictures are from late last summer..  We haven’t had enough rain yet for it to green up.  Also it can be windy.

Terrain

Natural features you'll find at Twisted Sisters Farm in Colorado.

Desert

Not really a desert, but the grass is sparse so far. Desperately need rain.

Forest

Mix of trees and flat land. RVs can get close to trees but not high in the more dense trees.

Field

This year there is no grass yet. I’m crossing my fingers that it’ll rain soon.

We had such a great time camping here. My kids were bummed to go. The land is beautiful and vast - lots of places to roam there. There's even a public kids park just across the way we walked to.

We found a little patch of trees to pitch our tent under and spent 5 nights there. The land has various terrains, so you may have to drive around to find the right spot for you. There is plenty of water available at the main house, so we were able to clean ourselves and dishes just fine. You can even hang a solar shower up for a short shower.

We went in the beginning of August - it was hot in the day and cold at night. You should have something warm to wear at night in Florissant, even in the middle of summer. The altitude os no joke there either. Coming from California, we found ourselves winded after doing everyday chores while camping.

If you camp here - you should definitely like animals. They may wander over to say Hi at some point. We absolutely loved the llamas, goats and Daesha the dog :) My boys wandered the whole property with her during our stay there.

Thank you for a great time Lisa! We hope to visit again soon.

Beautiful piece of land conveniently located off of Highway 24. We were too late to catch a nearby site at a Forest Service campground and reached out late to Lisa regarding her place. She was very responsive and accommodating and we found the site easily.

Her super sweet (and large) dog greeted us on arrival but was a bit too friendly and jumped up on our youngest son which caused a bit of drama but no injuries. Lisa came down and got her pooch and made sure all was well with us.

The land is open and convenient to the Florissant fossil beds and Highway 24. Nice stand of trees or open area available for camping. Some traffic noise from the highway so it’s definitely not a remote camping experience and a bit pricey for a single family given the lack of facilities/amenities. But would be good value for a larger multi-family experience.

It was lovely staying at the Twisted Sisters farm. The land is covered in sage and wildflowers. It’s located over the hill from the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument which has an easy 1 mile walking trail. We enjoyed the privacy and beautiful views from the farm.

Teller County Road 1 is a little hard to find. Tip, look for very small street sign labeled CR1. We missed it several times, but finally found it.
We used site 2 and it was great.
Super friendly farm dog named Kanits. If you’re not dog people or have some unfriendly pups, you may want to ask the land owner to put her away. We, however, loved her company, she got along with our dogs swimmingly, and we were sad to leave her.

Bring your leveling blocks if using a camper, they were essential for the spot we had.

Overall, a great spot and we hope to return again soon. Thanks, Lisa!

This was one of our favorite camp experiences we’ve ever had. Lisa was great, very helpful and responsive.
We tent-camped at site #2 and the views were amazing. Definitely want to go back.

Very easy access. Lisa was very helpful prior to our stay, but we never saw her once we arrived which was fine. We had a large group & stayed on campsite 1. It’s a very open area with few trees. It overlooked the town of Florissant. It’s close to Eleven Mile Canyon which we drove thru. Really loved the area. Thanks Lisa!

Our first camping of the year and it was perfect - beautiful sunsets, beautiful stars - and had the whole property to ourselves! Lisa was welcoming and informative. Easy access to the highway and close to food/firewood/gas.
