Gonzo's Grove is beautiful and easy to find once you leave the highway. We were greeted by our host, Greg, who showed us several spots to choose from. It is a peaceful quiet site not far from town. You'll find a local grocery in town, a bar, a museum, and a mercantile store with gas pumps. We spent a quiet evening watching the sun set over the mountains and enjoyed coffee while our dogs played in the wide open field in the morning. We will certainly be back when we are traveling this way again.

Tent camping on Greg’s land was perfect! Truly off grid and quiet, we loved it. Make sure to bring everything you need for camping and water, there are no utilities. That’s just the way we like it!
Loved this space so much! Had a fire pit & beautifully secluded spot at the base of the mountain. Hosts were exceptional & so accommodating with water to wash my dinner goods as well. The only thing I was missing was some sort of table/landing space for food prep - but not a deal breaker as you could always tote one in. They are in the process of building a shipping container venue space & look forward to seeing what they do with this beautiful property!

Once we found it we really enjoyed our stay. It’s in on beautiful property and is primitive camping. Bring everything you’ll need, including water. We tent camped, kayaked at nearby Lake Trinidad and will be back!
