The wildlife is spectacular Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, Great horned owls might keep you up hooting into the night...It is quite the bird sanctuary ,with almost every feather you could imagine.The pelicans rule the sky with theyre 8 foot wingspan,its not unusual to see a murmering of starlings whirring over the alfalfa fields in the evening... Minks, River otters,Raccoons, deer and the occasional Elk..2 bobcat sightings and one mountain lion but they are rare.Surrounded by water which is a rarity in itself we are nustled into real wildlife with town just minutes away.The entire expanse of the rockies is always here ...Best views in Boulder. Plenty of room for tents and parking, there is a fire pit and a burn barrel..Park under the giant cottonwoods and sit around the campfire thinking about what tomorrow might bring.There are kayaks available ,And the fishing has spring fed ponds and it can be exceptional.There are 2 seperate rv electrical hook ups. Bring your own set up or stay in my vintage camper back by the lake...The property surrounding the lakes is tended grasslands that were once a quarry for cobblestone and a gold mine.

Mountain views near Boulder

This camping area is an open field just off of 1-20 beyond Boulder. For being directly off a busy road, the sound pollution was low as you are really tucked off the road. This is a primitive campsite so you can choose where you want to camp in an open field, there are not bathroom facilities although the host Chandler mentioned he might install one in the near future, and there is one main fire pit near the house. I pitched my tent just on the edge of the property beside the field of very curious cattle where you can get a sweeping view of the Rockies. The Hipcamp host Chandler was very welcoming, he stopped by to greet me on my way into camp with his dog Sugar and built me a fire later at the fire pit, accompanied by his chicken Hans Solo. Overall I would highly recommend this Hipcamp for campers who want proximity to Boulder, pretty views and don't mind low amenities.

Nice Spot, helpful host!

The camping area was nice and grassy, well maintained, and had plenty of room for all our tents plus a van and trailer! The host was super kind and even checked on our stuff after some rain came through. 10/10 would recommend!
