Creekside is, as one camper said,"Like staying in your grandma's backyard, if your grandma had 80 wooded private acres one mile from the beach." Bathroom facilities are private, inside our house, and include laundry room. Fire pit; unlimited free firewood. Huge area means many options for you to design your site. Drive to site (weight of vehicle and weather permitting in rainy season). You can hear the ocean roar. No ambient light or noise, no visible neighbors (other than other campers in the 3-acre field site beyond). Great place for small children. No mosquitoes (trade-off is chilly weather.) Gardens and old orchards. Clean air, clean water. Site can accommodate many tents under one booking (see complicated fee structure). We've had 28 people (high school chaperoned bicycle trip) here at one time, and it was lovely. So, come with extended family or friends and spread out on the site. Gather at the firepit. We'll accommodate your ideas. PS: when booking, please count only adults (over 25 years old). Under 25 are children, come free, and cannot be the site booker. All people over the age of 12 must be vaccinated.

Most amazing place. Close to beach as stated. Wendy is the best host. Very welcoming and talking to her very intetesting background. Wusscamp was very welcomed after mote than 2 weeks of traveling. Hot shower restored me like day at the spa. Even took advantage of laundry and ready for another 2 weeks on the road. Ferndale is a neat little town with Victorian buildings and sweet shops. Looks like main street of Disneyland. Fabulous.
Ocean, forest, and kind hosts.
Creekside Wuss Camp was a wonderful stay for us. We parked our teardrop trailer under the apple trees and next to the creek. From there, we looked across the large field to the distant trees. The bathroom and shower were nearby. And, more than anything, we enjoyed talking with our hosts and playing with their great dog.
Wonderful place to stay
Our stay was wonderful. Wendy and John were very welcoming and Louie (their dog) was very sweet. The location is very close to a great beach. They have a bathroom and shower inside so it really is glamping. There's one campsite right by the house and a couple more across the field if you want a bit more space. Would absolutely come back when we get the chance.
What a magical place!
My boyfriend, our dog, and I camped here for three nights and it was absolutely perfect. There was lots of space for us to spread out our things, a beautiful view of their extensive property, and plenty of shade underneath the apple trees. John and Wendy were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Don’t sleep on the add-ons, John makes some delicious breads and coffee! We fell asleep to the sound of the ocean, and woke up to the moo of the neighbors cows. I loved trying to identify all the birds flying around the campsite. And let’s not forget the little guy, Louie, John and Wendy’s dog. Perhaps he kept comin around because we had a lot of dog treats…or maybe he just loved us. Who’s to say. Let’s call him the icing on the cake of an already perfect stay.
Comfortable valley paradise
Wendy & John were delightful hosts. I wish they were my neighbors. Their accommodations exceeded expectations, & their dog, Louie, was an excellent host for us humans & our dog—he calmly greeted all new campers as they arrived & even was our guide on a little hike into the woods by the camp. Our dog followed Louie around & even offered him toys because she thought he was such a cool big dog. The laundry, toilet & shower felt luxurious, while the bucolic outdoor spaces provided exquisite meadow & forest scenery, alongside a tranquil soundscape that included singing birds & the dull ocean surf in the background. I would definitely recommend this.
Peaceful, homely, fresh air
This is a cosy beautiful campsite, perfect if you need to get away. Also great for families as there is loads of room for kids to romp. Wendy and John are wonderful hosts, always up to chat but also respectful of your privacy. Try their bread if you can!
Beautiful memories guaranteed!
Stayed at Creekside Wuss Camp while visiting Humboldt State for my daughter. My teenagers loved the experience! Such a beautiful property, could hear the ocean as we fell asleep at night. Fire pit on campsite to roast marshmallows. Little town 5 minutes away with amazing coffee shop. Enjoyed homemade scones with local jam. Great Mexican food restaurant for dinner. Best part was Wendy was super sweet and accommodating to us. We will definitely be back!
