Hidden among giant boulders with views from Mt Palomar across North County to the Pacific Ocean's endless horizon. Sleep in a cozy cavern with a canvas cover that stays cool all day. Peek out at the surrounding trails of Splitrock Farm, spy on Camp Pendleton's air field, and stare at the stars next to a fire.

Plenty of parking with a large turn-around for small RVs or travel trailers. Ideally, sleep in the cots in the cozy cavern or the hammocks swinging from the 50ft Oak Tree that shades most of the site, but if that is too adventurous then pitch your own tent (2 tent pads) or sleep in your rig!

Kids, especially grown-up kids like me, will love exploring all the giant rocks with little caverns. It feels like Joshua Tree, but private with ocean views.

Splitrock Farm and Retreat offers guests access to 101 acres of land, which includes beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean to the west and Mount Jacinto to the east. Guests have access to 6+ miles of walking and biking trails. Feel free to explore the farm. Please stay on the designated trails.

We are located 5 miles from downtown Fallbrook, 14 miles from wine tasting in Temecula, and a mile east of Camp Pendleton.

When visiting Splitrock Farm and Retreat you may hear training from Camp Pendleton. The nearby coastal and mountain terrain support a variety of military training at the base. Fleet Marine Force units use Camp Pendleton's ranges and training areas to maintain combat readiness, which can often be heard from campsites throughout the day and sometimes into the evenings.

Keep children in sight and pets on leash as there is a variety of wildlife that visit frequently, including coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions, foxes, snakes, hawks, spiders, and more. Two Great Pyrenees patrol the property. They are sweet, loving dogs to all humans and pets, but they keep the coyotes and bobcats from killing my goats. If you do not want Holly and Molly near your campsite then please message me to keep them fenced-in.

Campers may collect firewood on the property, however, we do sell firewood through hipcamp.com or Venmo @SplitrockFAR. Please do not leave fires unattended. Extinguish fires completely before departing camp. Thank you!

Please NO: Hunting, fireworks, fires outside of designated fire rings, tossed cigarette butts, fruit picking, or loud music after 10 PM.

Natural beauty with everything that you need. Our weekend at split rock farm and retreat was just perfect. The hilltop hideaway gave us the direct contact with nature that we had been craving and the covered loft tucked between boulders was a lovely place to watch the sunset. The grounds are large and great hiking. It doesn’t feel like a “campground” walking around since it’s large enough that everyone has privacy. The host has several adorable goats and a couple of friendly penned pigs that were cute to see. Location is very convenient and close to major highways. Fallbrook is right down the hill to stop and get supplies or food. Water is available on site as well as plenty of firewood if needed.

This space was magical!! The sunset views were unreal and being able to sleep in a rock cave was something I’ve never experienced. From beginning to end, I fell in love with this land. Will be back for sure!
