Adventures in murphys
Sierra Circles Sculpture Garden in Murphys, CA was a definitely a site to see! We took our campervan and settled into site #3. A whimsical wood-carved wizard statue greeted us into our spot and a wooden frog nestled in a tree was a great art piece to look at. Our site was very cozy and private, with lots of space for hanging our hammock, playing corn-hole, setting up chairs, playing ball with our little dog, and eating at the nice picnic table. Michel was very animated and excited to share the history about this special place and gave a tour of the art/sculpture pieces, most impressive of all, that being Florence his big rig! We enjoyed a tour of the Quyle Kiln pottery studio and shop, hosted by Pam Quyle. She is so knowledgeable!! Across the way tucked amongst some trees was the little wine tasting sitting area. There’s a hike that loops around the property for some good fresh air and exercise. Along the way, you can take in the sights of ironworks of art, huge sculptures, and an amazing arch made of tons of manzanita branches, courtesy of Michel’s creativity!! Wednesday evening we sat near the big oak tree and listened to the free concert held at the front lawn as we saw the pretty sunset. Murphys/Sierra Hills Market, gas station, downtown Murphys (So Cute! With tons of shops and adorable tasting rooms) are just minutes away!! Calaveras Big Trees State Park is just a short 15 minute drive from the site. What an experience! A must-see! Thanks Michel & Pam :)!!
Unique camping spot!
We really enjoyed our stay here! Michel and others on property are very nice and helpful. The garden sculptures are fun additions to the six camping spots. Wine is great from Brice Station too. Will definitely return for another stay!
We had a good stay. I do realize that the information on the site relayed no showers. However, port a potties being the only facility near the actual camping sites wasn't my favorite. Having a house very close by where people reside, also makes the experience a little less private. Interesting property with a fun history. Beautiful sculptures and art work!
Camping with art
We had a great time staying at Sierra Circles. Our camp site was spacious and clean. The site also came with a picnic table and a tepee structure. It was a unique staying experience because of the metal work installations all around us. Thank you Sierra Circles team for having us!
