This is a site on a working farm in the foothills east of Sacramento, at approximately 1500 ft. We are producing organic flowers, fruits, herbs & vegetables. With some notice we will be happy to provide a retreat spot with cleansing juices, wheat grass juice, salads and other fresh picked produce. Otherwise you can see the activities of the farm as they happen in a quiet little valley with beautiful sky views and songbirds night and day. There are many assorted activities close by and with easy access. We are 5 mi. from town, yet very quiet and peaceful. We are .5 mi from Hidden Falls Regional Park, where there are water falls year round, rock climbing, and easy & moderate trails.

Auburn area was a supply juncture in the gold rush days. The railroad was beginning west/ east from the Sacramento River into the High Sierras. The gold was being rushed from Nevada City & Coloma, north / south. Auburn was at the crossroads for all of that activity. There are rolling hills, Pines & Oaks, good soil, and great Nature in this area.

The sites here are quiet, rugged but comfortable, open most of the year, Welcoming. You can be alone in a private area tucked into a crescent at the side of the orchard with a little hill at your back, or you can be at our shady site 2.

We have dogs, cats, chickens & goats on the property at this time.  Parking is close to the site. Our well with fresh drinking water is near the entry.  Please ask us if you would like to buy wood, produce or natural essential oil insect repellent.  ( we do not have much insect or mosquito problem).

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was quiet, comfortable, and a beautiful setting for relaxing and having mornings and evenings just enjoying nature and the fresh air. The farm owner, Ruthanne, and the people working on the farm, were all very welcoming and friendly. Although we saw them at times harvesting produce just across from our site, it still felt very private. It was actually much quieter and more private than a lot of campgrounds we've been to before! And sleeping amongst the kiwi vines was a lovely and unique experience. Also, the produce bag is well worth it - there's nothing better than eating fruits and vegetables fresh from the harvest, and everything was delicious. We would definitely stay here again. :)

My sister and I had a lovely stay at Orchard Nest. Ruthanne met us at the gate and showed us around the property -- a beautiful organic farm complete with sunflowers, blackberries, and of course the kiwi orchard! Camping in the kiwi orchard was magical. Other than the occasional plane flying overhead, we enjoyed a peaceful evening to the tune of chirping crickets.

The Hidden Falls Regional Park is less than two miles away and we enjoyed a morning hike complete with a splash in the natural pools at the base of the falls. Definitely worth a trip, but be sure to make a parking reservation in advance.

Orchard Nest is a great Hipcamp stay for an overnight or weekend getaway!

We loved our stay at Orchard Nest! The host was very communicative and friendly. When we arrived she greeted us with a warm welcome and because there were open sites on her farm, she allowed us to choose a site with a little more shade. We bought firewood from her at a good price, and chose to purchase two food bags (delicious). There is a lot to do nearby and the host had good recommendations on where we could hike, swim, etc. The farm has everything that you would need to feel comfortable camping. Our site had a fire pit, chairs, a side table, a prep station table and plenty of room between us and the next camp site. It's a beautiful place to stay, and our group is already looking forward to coming back.

Highly recommend! We had a beautiful stay here at the Orchard Nest and Ruthanne was a wonderful host. She greeted us when we arrived and is so friendly and thoughtful.
It's really peaceful with Hidden Regional Falls Park close by for hiking and waterfalls. We got some of Ruthanne's farm goods including her kiwi jam which are all SO delicious! Will definitely visit again and have already recommended to others. This place is a gem of a destination.
