We are a 10 minute walk from the Ocean and the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, surrounded by cypress and eucalyptus trees. You have a beautiful view of the mountains from our backyard adirondack chairs. We are a half mile from Hwy 1 so the noise you hear is the Ocean and not traffic. You can walk to great beaches such as Moss Beach, Montara Beach and Ross Cove. Hiking and biking are accessible from the driveway.  The Moss Beach Distillery is an enchanting 20-minute walk through the cypress grove and a neighborhood market and local wine bar are 5 minutes away. Redwoods, surfing, restaurants, Half Moon Bay and San Francisco are all nearby. You can drive to San Francisco in 35 Minutes and Santa Cruz is just over one hour. Our neighborhood is safe, silent and very peaceful and we love being hosts. Our site can only host vans and truck campers less than 24 feet in length. No trailers of any kind or rooftop tents. You must also be fully self-contained including the toilet.

Loved this place! So easy to get there and so close to the Ocean! Trevor and his wife were such good hosts! They go out of their way to make sure you know of all the local spot, activities to do around there. Nice of them to text me and let me know when the tide is low so my daughter can go explore. Overall one of my favorite places and friendly hosts. Definitely my new go to spot to park my van. Thank you both!!

Trevor was a fantastic host. The van was outfitted with everything we could possible want to have a comfortable stay. Between the excellent activity/restaurant recommendations and helping us get up and running with our bikes along the Coastal Trail, we couldn’t ask for more from a hipcamp experience.

Parking in a neighborhood driveway.
It should clearly state that you are parking in a driveway of a private residence in a typical neighborhood. The backyard is available but you have no sense of privacy with open windows. Smallish backyard with pleasant forested land view. Local area is very nice. I can’t imagine the neighbors appreciate this setup.

Happy Buddha's Retreat
Cute coastal town
This was such a fun way to explore a cute little town on the California coast that we may have missed otherwise (and it was so much more private than the state park campgrounds we stayed in). Their community's bridge to the bigger beach and restaurant was unfortunately damaged in the recent storms, but it was super easy (and safe!) to walk a few minutes on highway 1 to get there instead. The little beach at the end of their street was full of harbor seals (so cute!) and tide pools depending on the time of day. And, it had a clean public restroom we could use while the park was open. As long as you're ok with camping in someone's driveway/yard, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Nice place to stay for the night. We couldn't enjoy the surrounding area due to weather.
