A true treat- really lovely setup on the property with plenty of privacy, loved being under the trees and using the campfire ring. The host was a delight to interact with upon arrival. Will most definitely come back again!
I really enjoyed the hospitality of the Lucky Penny! Laytonville is a funky, fun, welcoming place. I walked the neighborhood a lot because I was traveling with a four month old pup who has tons of energy. The campsite was clean, the kitchen well equipped and the Ravens, squirrels and birds mesmerizing to watch. I will come back, hopefully with a group because this HIPCAMP seems the perfect place for friends to camp and hang out together.

Had a great time at Lucky Penny #1. Has everything you would like while camping. The Shower was the big surprise for me. It was great.Hillary met me coming in, told me where everything was, and I could look around the property. Trails are easy to follow. Kitchen looks great. Lots of different places to rest or read a book.
Lucky Penny is an oasis of beauty and fun! We were so grateful for the rustic, bohemian, welcoming vibe! I would especially recommend this place if you have a small kiddo. Hillary has a game/toy/library closet stocked to the brim with fun activities for young kiddos and adults alike. Hens and kittens were a JOY for our kiddo to hold. The outdoor kitchen is so welcome after being on the road and setting up and taking down the kitchen every day. The outdoor warm shower is a true delight. And Hillary’s collections and artful displays are enchanting to say the least. We look forward to making this a regular stop on our way North or South.
This is an awesome camping experience. The site is so beautiful and has wonderful unique feature. Hillary is an excellent host. We would absolutely come back for another stay!
Very welcoming and lovely campground. The outdoor kitchen was great! It had everything needed and then some.
There was a great selection of boardgames and books as well as plenty of space to hang out and play them.
We really enjoyed our stay.
