12 acres hosted by Rebecca B.
Enjoy 12 unique acres of expansive and unobstructed views of the Sierra and Inyo mountains. The property sits on the old Southern Pacific Railroad right-away, and the railroad berm runs right thru the middle so please don't give us negative reviews if you hear a ghost train pass while you are sleeping (you could hear cars passing on the 136 Highway and you choose to camp close to the road... up to you). Otherwise, you are super adjacent to epic hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, fishing, bird watching, and Cerro Gordo Ghost town adventures. We are the closest camping to the Eastern Sierra Interagency visitor center, one of LP's best taco trucks, gas station and the new cannabis dispensary, are all just a two minute drive away... town is a five minute drive.
Hipcamp has asked this is an RV Site so the idea is that you are are totally self contained including bathroom. This is literally dirt, to pull up and camp, you are welcome to use the deck. Sorry but NO FIRES. It's been super dry here and I don't want to be responsible for setting the valley on fire. :/
WEATHER
The Eastern Sierra is known for extreme weather. We are the "Land of little rain" but extensive wind and bugs... its most often one of the other, so high or low, be prepared. The summer is hot, so we spend our days in the mountains and our evenings enjoying the warm nights with lots of stars. If you are an avid hiker you know the drill... for those of you that just want to look around, you drive to Whitney Portal or Horseshoe Meadows and find yourself twenty degrees cooler with hikes of all types, all around you.
HOST
We sometime have a host staying in the guest cabin.
THANK YOU!
