Welcome to our beautiful 824 acre cattle ranch with two small ponds! The Canvas Bell Tent brings traditional camping to another level. We are located just outside the small town of Groveland and are just 30 miles from the gate of Yosemite. The Bell tent sits on an elevated platform inside a 2 acre fenced area away from the cattle. Your tent comes furnished with sleeping pads, cots (arriving August 26th), carpeting, and bedside tables. There's running water at the site, which you can use to fill up your water bottles or use for cooking. We also have two rocking chairs on the tent platform where you can sip on a beverage and take in the beauty around you.
When exploring our property you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite. We're not far from town either -- in just a few minutes you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlor.
When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization and it's real quiet. This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquility of nature. Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or the other countless species of birds. This is the perfect place to relax if you’re a photographer, artist, small family or a couple looking for a place to stay near Yosemite.
A small portion of the property was used as a gold mine years ago, and you may find remnants of old home sites if you go exploring. We're not far from Wards Ferry Road, Groveland, Lake Don Pedro and other interesting places.
We have a regularly cleaned porta-potty just a short walk away from the glamping tent. We can't wait for you to book your stay with us!

First time camping with two little kids. We had the glamping tent. It was beautiful location with cows. Kids enjoyed every bit of it. John was responsive and welcoming.
John's Yosemite Glamping was just what we needed- close to Yosemite NP entrance, no set-up necessary, just bring sleeping bags and we were golden. The cots were surprisingly comfortable and the wildlife was so cool. We had an owl probably just outside the tent. The only thing I would note is that there are other campers setting tents up on the grass, we weren't expecting to see many other people nearby and were a little startled by two people walking with flashlights past the tent to set up at their site. It wasn't a problem and they were quiet, but something we wish we expected ahead of time. Also, to no fault of John or his site, there was a fire ban which was a bummer. Overall, the camp was great!!
We had a great time on the property and the glamping tent was perfect, set on a wooden deck with rocking chairs outside and plenty of room inside (even to stand) for us and our two dogs. Great views of the surrounding area and the ranch animals (turkeys and cows) stopped by to welcome us. Gorgeous sunset. The glamping site does share the fenced area with other camp sites, we thought we had the area to ourselves but were awaken at midnight by another party trying to find a spot. There were also a lot of foxtails in the camping area so for those bringing their dogs, be careful.
John was a great host.

Thank you for staying with us at the ranch . Glad you enjoyed your visit.
The property itself is close enough to town that it’s convenient but far enough away to offer an escape from the bustle. It offers as much open space as you could want and we were allowed to explore the area. The cows would occasionally wander near the road and fence but never caused any issues. The portapotty was very clean and stocked with toilet paper and seat covers. There were fire pits and firewood available. The yurt was clean and surprisingly spacious.
John was such a gracious host. He came to check on us when we were starting a fire and even helped us collect some kindling. He also lent us a flashlight when we forgot ours! Would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a glamping experience near Yosemite!

Thank you for staying with us ,glad you enjoyed your visit.
We absolutely LOVED this camping spot. It was so close to Yosemite sites. It was private and quiet and magical. There were cows in the morning and the view is gorgeous. The tent was clean and situated perfectly on a nice deck where we could cook and relax. I would recommend this spot to anyone camping on a budget in this area. My small, low car could manage the roads fine so anyone can access this area. We were allowed to bring our pup who absolutely loved the space and camped like a champ.

Thank you , glad you enjoyed your visit.
Great piece of land with an awesome view. Cows all around it. Fire was burning upon our arrival.

Thank you for staying, glad you enjoyed your visit.
Loved it!! It was just as described and John was such an awesome host! He even had a fire going for us when we arrived and provided tons of firewood.
The yurt was clean and cute and they even had water bottles for us.
Gorgeous huge property where you can wander all around and see lots of cows. Felt very safe gorgeous view of the valley.

Happy that you enjoyed your visit. Thanks
John's Diamond Gulch Glamping site was out of this world. The views were stunning, the tent was homey and secure, and residents of the farm (cows, turkeys, birds, etc.) were all around, and interested in our stay. While the campsite was on its own fenced in area, it truly felt as if we were one with nature. We got to our campsite pretty late, and John was kind enough to light a campfire prior to our arrival.
John was super easy to communicate with, and the campsite was easy to find. Your draw will continue to drop as you take each turn into the mass acreage of Johns land.

We came to the site for a two day stay to be close to Yosemite and I feel like the time spent on Johns land was just as great and experience as the national park. The site was clean and neat upon arrival, pictures don’t do it justice and John had even started a fire for us when we got there. It was completely quiet from human sounds and all that woke you up was the sun and the sounds of birds, turkeys and cattle. I certainly plan on coming back and would recommend the site to any but not too many cause I want to be able to come back before too many people know about this gem of a site:)

Enjoyed having you and your sister here at the ranch , glad you enjoyed your visit. Thanks
