We loved our time at the river front cabin! The location was absolutely beautiful and the beach and spot on the river amazing. It’s a quiet part of the river, so you can go in the river there and even slowly float downstream. One of the best places we’ve ever been!

This spot far exceeded our expectations. It’s like getting to stay at your own private tourist destination. The river and surrounding rock formations are absolutely breathtaking. The ranch the cabin is on is huge so there’s plenty of space to wander and explore. We really enjoyed watching the cattle graze, as well. Would love to come back in the summer months to really enjoy the water, but our dog enjoyed it enough for both of us! I do wish the cabins were a little further apart. So, if you’re seeking complete solitude, just be aware that cabin #1 is visible and within earshot of cabin #2, but even still, this was the most privacy and quiet we’ve had since moving to California a decade ago. Simply unparalleled. The lack of electricity and cell service wasn’t even noticed because it’s just so beautiful and peaceful that you have no desire to distract yourself. Really appreciated the wood stove in the cabin, it kept us warm and comfortable all night. Tom was one of the nicest, most genuine people you’ll meet. Very knowledgeable of the land, too. We appreciated him stopping by to check on us. And as most everyone else has mentioned, the porta potty is immaculate, which this lady appreciated!

Rachael's land is gorgeous! Stone Cabin #2 has ample room for 4 people and the wood stove kept us very warm. The swimming hole is beautiful and I am longing to swim in it this July. The porta potty is clean. Tom is a very friendly and interesting person to talk to, he has common likes of gold and coins and metal detecting like my husband. Rachael is very kind to allow our dog and we appreciate her very much! We are all very excited for our upcoming trip back to Consumnes River Ranch!!!!
Awesome place. Was little apprehensive upfront as the hosts were not reachable over phone before reaching the place. That was the start and end.
Place is super good, serene, well kept, away from crowd, lots of activities around, forgot how time went by. Tom stopped by couple of times to make sure that things are all good. Can’t wait to go back in Summer.

SO. MUCH. FUN. Swimming, floating, fishing, hiking, animal-watching. The location and accommodations are even better than the pictures show. Cabin 2 is actually pretty big, and the cabins are far enough apart for privacy. They are positioned at a little beach on the river, surrounded by high hills on either side. You can float down the river for quite a ways listening only to the sounds of nature. We spent our third day at the swimming hole in the lower campsites, which was just as incredible. It's hard to say how awesome this was and how much we want to go back. Bonus, the port-a-potty is sparkling clean. Tom is super nice and generous; he dropped off gold pans for the river and a little heater to warm up our hands in the mornings. Future campers, bring a screen tent to keep the wasps out during mealtimes (ours worked like a charm) -- though of course Tom stopped by to hang wasp catchers! Thank you times a thousand for an incredible trip.

My friends and I rented both cabins at this majestic spot and it was absolutely perfect! Totally in the middle of nowhere but we felt safe. The cabin and porta potty were very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The river was the most perfect temperature for hanging out in all day and there was even a little Sandy beach (because the river was low). Tom came and checked on us in the mornings and even did an evening check. He was such a sweet man and really seemed to love being on the land. We will be back for sure!

Very quiet and peaceful stay. The cabin was very clean and plenty of room for a family of 4. We enjoyed paddle boarding and catch and release tadpoles. Host was very easy to contact and ask questions about what to expect from our stay.

We had a great time! The cabin was clean and comfortable and the swimming hole was a lot of fun. We absolutely loved the ranch manager Tom! We had a great time chatting with him and we will definitely be back!

This was our first time booking through hip camp and I did not know what to expect. Tom and Rachel are very responsive. Tom came by to welcome us and check to see if we had any questions. He was very friendly and nice to chat with. We definitely recommend this property to anyone and will definitely be looking to come back again. We stayed at Cabin #2. The cabin is very clean and had everything we needed. We were able to check out some of the campsite properties to see which ones we would like to come back for. =P The cabin area had its own private beach area and swimming hole which was absolutely amazing. The place was very remote, we could see the starts and clear sky at night. This was exactly what we were looking for- a remote, private, and quiet place for us to enjoy with the kids.
I have to reiterate what everyone mentioned about the porta-potty. It is the cleanest one I have ever seen! It even have soap and water, which we were not expecting.
The direction to the cabins were good with clear signs that made it easy for us to find out way in and out of the property.
Thank you Tom and Rachel for sharing your wonderful property with us!
