River front stone cabin #2

This site is so incredibly beautiful! Rachael was easy to communicate with and aside from being super nice she was also very accommodating. This place was serene with the river, creek, and hills all around us.

The River front stone cabin #2 we stayed at was spacious, well insulated and very clean. There was a bed, a wood stove fireplace, a table with two chairs. There’s also an enormous brick fire pit right in front of the cabin and a beautiful wooden picnic table/bench. There was a second cabin near but it was far enough for privacy. All you hear is nature. We woke up with geese honking and watched the cows graze right by our cabin. The river was too cold for us to swim in but we can’t wait to come back in the summer! The beach area also has a little for pit where we hung out all day.

Rachael’s property is huge with lots of hills and rocks to climb and venture. It was evident that the property is well taken care of. Even the porta potty was immaculate!

The site manager Tom came to check in with us which was appreciated. He was incredibly kind and shared amazing history about the property and the surrounding land. Our 6 yr old son thought Tom was the coolest guy ever!

We can’t wait to come back to the ranch!

Our overnight stay at stone cabin #2 was a fantastic getaway for me and my two kids (8) and (13). The rolling hills and the river were beautiful. Driving down the long dirt road past the curious cows on our way to the cabin was like an amusement park ride to my kids. They are city kids. I'm used to the brown Sacramento River, so seeing a clear slow moving river was kind of amazing to me. I definitely need to get our more too.
It's a beautiful location for walks with wandering cows and creeks and the weather was perfect for us. It felt safe to just let the kids wander around the hills and creeks and just explore. There is only one other cabin to share the entire area with, and the person staying there the same time as us was a cool guy on a motorcycle. There's a great big fire pit, and picnic table next to the cabin. We brought our own wood, but there was some there for us to use. The cabin was clean and roomy with a wood burning stove and a comfortable queen bed. A cot was also provided for us, but the kids could have slept on the floor. It supposed to be camping. There is no electricity or running water but there is a clean port-a-potty nearby.
Overall it was a really beautiful spot and we'd like to come back and stay during the Summer when we can take advantage of swimming in the river.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property is absolutely beautiful. Green rolling hills, wild flowers, trees, cattle, birds, a creek, a pond, and the river. Rachael responds quickly and is a wonderful host. Also, Tom checked on us to ensure we had what we needed and to offer some history about the property... another wonderful soul. This cabin is near cabin #1; yet, far enough away that you can barely see the back of cabin #1 (through the trees). Both cabins share a common beach; and there is plenty of accessbile river bank to spread out. There is also a small pond nearby, which was fun for fishing. The cabin is well insulated and has a nice wood burning stove, comfortable bed, nice picnic table, and large fire ring. The porta potty was extremely clean. We will differently be back to stay on this property. They also have campsites by the river... another nice option. What a beautiful place! Thank you for sharing your land with us!

We enjoyed every minute here. The cabin was perfect, with everything we needed, and the setting was serene. Watching the sunset from the river’s edge was a special treat. Tom made sure we had plenty of firewood to stay warm all night. The night sky was spectacular. We will be back!

The cabin is everything we wanted! The privacy, the water and land itself is exactly what we needed to get away from the noise of the city. The portapotty is clean and not smelly at all. I really wish we could stay longer but we will surely come back! The host rachel is very easy to talk to via messages and tom came down to check on us and made we settled in just fine. My son had a blast in the nearby creek and river. There is also a nearby fishing pond that has big large mouth bass and blue gil but too bad we didnt bring the right bait for them, they didnt bite on ours at all! Haha over all a wonderful experience.

My husband and I rented Stone Cabin#2 to celebrate my bday weekend. It was our first time with Hipcamp and we figured we’d give it a try. Wow! This place is magical. Endless rolling hillls with oak trees, pines, buckeye etc. the river swimming hole is incredible and only accessible to the two cabins. We loved the endless singing of the birds, the geese family, wandering around the river edge, checking out the hillside around the river, the fire pit, the front porch, everything. We can’t wait to return. Thank you, Tom, for getting it ready, spotless (best portapotty experience ever—never thought I’d say that. Haha) , and for being so warm, inviting, and sharing the colorful history of the ranch. I can tell you love your job—for a very good reason. Rachel and Scott, it was a pleasure meeting you both. Thank you to you and your family for preserving and maintaining a slice of California history as it has looked for 100s of years. See you soon!
