We are very excited to have a new structure and be up and running again. I will keep information up to date as we progress. Thanks Lori and Keith

This charming 20ft yurt sits on its own in a private forest on a hill above Butterfly Valley. Offering quiet privacy, it is a truly rustic experience best suited to those who already have a comfort level with campground-type facilities. It is warm in summer and wood-heated in winter. The yurt is equipped with an outhouse, bathhouse with a hot shower, stove, fridge, queen size bed and a futon. Butterfly Valley is within walking distance of Butterfly Valley Botanical Area, a protected area with many native carnivorous plants. Two minute drive to Butterfly Beach on Spanish Creek, one of the best swimming holes in Plumas County. Right in the heart of the scenic Feather River and Lost Sierra, home of world-renowned hiking, biking, fishing, backcountry skiing, snowmobiling, white water rafting and more. This is truly a special property! Quincy is a thriving mountain community of 5,000 residents, the county seat of Plumas County, home of Feather River College and High Sierra Music Festival, restaurants, and a microbrewery.

Fantastically cozy and peaceful! Absolutely a fantastic time. We will definitely be coming again!
Sadly, due to the fire ravaging the area, we were not able to visit. However, I felt I needed to leave a review about Lori because she really went above and beyond during an emotionally devastating and highly stressfull time for her. We booked last minute, like the day before and Lori had already been evacuated by then so she had only spotty internet as she was literally fleeing a very intense fire yet she both called and messaged me right away to let me know it wasnt possible for me to come stay. She was so nice and unnecessarily concerned about both cancelling last minute and making sure I was able to get a refund that it almost brought me to tears. I assured her that i could wait or handle the refund process myself with HipCamp because she had enough on her plate with the fire. HipCamp was amazing with regard to the refund, quick and helpful, and while it was disappointing for us I absolutely plan to rebook my trip when possible. Thank you Lori and HipCamp for your stellar customer service and my thoughts and prayers are hoping that Lori is able to read this review while relaxing in her undamaged home. ❤❤
I’m hooked! The property is secluded and with lots of mature forest surrounding! The yurt was clean and cute. The bed was comfortable and the linens nice and fresh! We will definitely be returning for more and longer visits here!

This place is great! Comfortable, private, and great amenities! We’ll definitely be back.
My family and I stayed here for our first stay on a “unique stays” road trip, and it is going to be hard to beat! The yurt is situated in a peaceful wooded area, is clean and nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. We spent hours at the swimming hole down the road. Lori and Ken were very helpful, friendly hosts.
We stayed here for two nights- LOVED IT! The yurt was very comfortable and well designed. The surrounding forest was extremely relaxing and our two dogs loved wandering about. Also great swimming spots just down the road and the botanical area is worth seeing! Keith and Lori were amazing hosts. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in nature.

Peace and quiet. We fell asleep to the sounds of the night, so relaxing. Very private Yurt. Shower was very nice and the toilet was really good for this kind of camping. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook some nice meals. Yurt has electric so we brought a fan for sleeping but there was also one there. Lori did a great job at explaining how everything worked. She was accessible with a few questions we had and made some great recommendations for places to swim and cool down. Quincy is a wonderful mountain town. Craft Fair on the Saturday we were there, lots of shops, groceries, Quintopia Brewing! We had an awesome time. Thanks so much Lori, we are looking forward to returning!
We enjoyed the butterfly yurt's secluded setting, serene view of the trees and stars through the skylight, and breakfast & yoga on the sunlit deck. The water heater worked well and the bed was very comfy and warm in the cool summer night.

Hey Jen, very much later. Thank you for your kind words. We did indeed have to flee from the devastating fires. Sous sons house burned to the ground and our other sons house lost all infrastructure still to this day. Our beloved yurt and our home escaped the fires, although this last Dec. We lost the yurt to snow damage and we are sending away for a new yurt. Unfortunately, it is back ordered until late august. we will rise again. Look for us to be ready to go again in September. Thank you for your understanding. Lori from butterfly valley.
