Nestled against the mountains and beach of the San Diego/ Mexico border, open access to 38 miles of state beach trails and only 1.5 miles from the sands of Imperial Beach. We have pristine views and perfect weather San Diego is known for. D and J Stables is one of the last ranches with beach access to ride a horse on the beach. It's a rustic, one of a kind experience.

Very clean. Laura was very helpful and communicative. Spent labor day weekend away from crowds and noise. We all enjoyed petting the horses and being 10 minutes away from Imperial beach.

My 10 year old loved petting and feeding horses. Wonderful learning experience.

D and J was a great place to get away from all the noise . There is traffic on the main road . Mainly boarder patrol going up and down the road . This might be helpful if you want to go horseback riding make reservations before you get there . The neighboring ranch is where you need to make reservations because D and J does not . The hostess was awesome very accommodating she made us feel at home . We road bikes on the main road and stumbled on a rodeo that the local ranch was having . To good to be true! the rodeo was awesome ! Made up for not being able to go horseback riding on the beach . We had a great stay . If you love being in the country without hotel amenities you’ll love this place .

We were looking for just one night on a road trip headed to baja. You will be right on the border, so throughout the night border patrol vehicles drive right by. I expected more for $55 hipcamp. The portapotty was dirty and full. Showers are also a port a potty. Should be $35. We didn't plan in advance and didn't have any other choices.

D and J’s was a really nice stay. Comfortable (I was camping in a tent) and relatively quiet - only main noises at night are the horses and chickens, and crickets, but I like that and sleep like a rock anyway. Interesting to be able to see the border wall and CBP cars driving by every 10-15 minutes, but also an experience!

We enjoyed our stay at Beachin' Ranch and would definitely go again. It was fun being at the ranch and visiting the horses, with their different personalities. There's lots of hiking and biking trails right nearby. Next time, we'll be sure to do a horse ride to the beach. The ranch is just a short e-bike ride to Imperial Beach, with great bike lanes for a safe ride. IB has cute downtown, and we had a wonderful lunch on the pier. Overall, and awesome experience!

Very well maintain ranch in a relaxing and down to earth setup. Close to a lot of pedestrian trails were we can walk our dogs on leash.

I really appreciated the fauna as well as the well behave animals we met!
