Enjoy a stay in our vintage trailer, the “Life Aquatic,” which sleeps two people comfortably. Nestled in the trees on the east side of our 5-acre property, Flyway Farm & Forest, the 1963 Esta Villa trailer is cozy with a small kitchen. Wake up to stunning views of the private pasture and mountain valley next to the Columbia River. Potable water is offered in each trailer. Pets are welcome. This trailer is one of two that we offer for rent so you may have other campers for neighbours during your stay.
In addition to the trailers, tent and RV camping is also allowed on the property so you will share the farm with other campers. A communal fire pit is provided, and you can pre-purchase a firewood bundle when you make your booking. A toilet and shower are available in the main farmhouse, and you will even have access to a washing machine and clothesline if needed. You can also enjoy fresh eggs from the farm! Just select that option when booking.
Flyway Farm & Forest gets its name from its location along the Pacific Flyway bird migratory route. Nearby activities include Jubilee Mountain, where you can take in a panoramic view of the Columbia Valley and the flyway, and Bugaboo Falls. Or check out the Columbia River wetlands, just a minute or so away on foot. Restaurants, groceries, and shops can be found in the town of Golden, about 60 km north.

After a long day of sightseeing or in my case riding a motorcycle nothing was better than coming back to the trailer it's so peaceful and quiet nestled underneath the mountains it's a good place to relax. And the host s are always available and always make sure that you are comfortable when you stay there. Excellent spot highly recommended

The scenery is amazing it's quiet just a beautiful area and they are amazing hosts a great place to stay with many things to see and do.

Amazing spot! The RV is cute and clean when we arrived, with nice views of the mountains just outside. Our host was also super helpful with everything! They did a really good job at making sure we had everything we needed, and making us feel right at home on their land. Being able to hang around the chickens, goats, and dogs during the day are a HUGE plus. We got the firewood bundle, which was worth it. Highly recommended this spot to anybody. Thanks Patricia!
P.S. you can also find the host at the local cafe just down the street and it's worth checking out and ordering a Canadiano!

Patricia and Bernie were very friendly and helpful hosts, staying on their farm was a delight! Even though we visited in the off-season, the trailer and accommodations were cozy and the hosts gave good recommendations for the area. We loved visiting the goats and chickens! We’ll definitely be back.

We had a wonderful time at Flyway farm. Patty and Bernie are welcoming, kind hosts and made us feel very comfortable at their property. The Spilli cafe was a great place to eat. The trailer is clean, comfortable with a fun vibe. Definitely recommend!
The trailer is so cool. Very cozy. Great view. Wonderful hosts. Spillimacheen has a delicious cafe (Spilli Cafe) and a ridiculously well stocked gourmet market (Beeland) . Perfect jumping off point for hot springs, mountains, kayaking, floats, whatever you are into.

I am confident your heart will feel a little lighter after your stay on Patricia and Bernie’s magical property. Nestled in the valley, Spillimacheen has a lot to offer, including beautiful views, swimming holes, and easy access to endless day hikes. But the intention, thoughtfulness, and heart that Patricia and Bernie pour into the space make the experience something that is hard to put into words.
Highlights included: partaking in feeding the chickens and goats, learning the history of the property, sharing stories around the fire, and appreciating the small Wes Anderson inspired details scattered across the property. The trailer was very clean and tidy, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere made it quickly feel like home.
Patty and Bernie are vibrant and creative individuals who are working to create a space that is inviting and community based. The trailer we stayed in was adorable and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting the dogs, chickens, and goats onsite. Bernie also allowed me to go into their garden and dig up some potatoes!
Make sure you give yourself the time to check out the lower bugaboo falls that neighbour the property.
You will not regret the opportunity to share some time and space with these magnificent humans.
The trailer was very comfortable and well maintained, and the property was equipped with everything needed for comfort camping. The property is actually a small ghost town! The cook house is in the old post office, they have their garage in the old gas station, and there is a hut there that the Sinclair brothers built (cool piece of history). The swimming hole across the road was an amazing chill place to spend a hot day. We brought our inflatable rafts and it was lovely floating amongst the lily pads and watching the turtles. I would recommend bringing some floatables for anyone who is squeamish about seaweed.
We had a grizzly bear come out onto the lawn in broad daylight at the property. He was just passing through, but it was a good reminder that this is bear country and to be ready at all times. It was exciting...but also very scary. We were practicing good food safety, but this also reinforces why this is so important. The bear didn’t seem interested in sticking around and I’m sure that it’s because it has never found food there.
We hiked to the forest fire lookout which had stunning views. We also hiked Bugaboo Falls. There is a rainbow at the end and a really cool overhang rock that makes for a perfect rainbow photo op 🙂! There is another hike to Diana Lake a short drive from the property (10 mins). We had planned to do that one, but got rained out.
The Spilli Café is outstanding and BeeLand was pretty cool also. It was nice to be able to walk over from the camp and enjoy some high quality home cooked food as a treat.
The owners dogs were friendly and well behaved and we loved their chickens and chicks too! 🐥 All in all, I’d recommend this place for a family get away or chill friend getaway. Thanks for having us at your lovely property/town!
