No Office On-Site: Directions: • Go directly into the campground and locate an empty picnic table. Contact: • Text/Call Christine (shared info is withheld until payment is made). • Pro Tip: Download the free HipCamp App—it's the best way to communicate with your host. Location: • Search for "Last Chance Camp, Cheyenne" on Maps. • Take Exit 16/211 and head right/east off the ramp. • At the next cross street, Yellowstone Road, take a left. • The next street is Coonrod Road on the right (you’ll see a large school on the west side of Yellowstone). Look for the North Star sign and mailboxes. • Continue down Coonrod Road for 3/4 of a mile. You’ll find us on the left/north side, marked by our signage "Last Chance Camp" and house number 11234. Arrival & Facilities: • Please plan to be fully self-contained and self-sufficient if arriving after 8 PM. Sunset is at 8:04 PM on 8/10/24, and the views, especially of the stars, are truly stunning! • Check-In 1230 PM / Check-Out by 12pm – Please pick up trash items like cig butts and candy wrappers, leaving no trace is grace. • Clean port-a-pot available on site. • Cars, vans, motorcycles, buses, and motorhomes of all sizes are welcome. Amenities: • Rustic Ranch Style Community Kitchen: Located by the barns, it features electric toaster ovens, burners, coffee, tea, excellent deep well water, gas grills, a dining table, and all necessary dishes and utensils. (Cold water only during freezing months.) • Fire Pit: Next to the Rustic Kitchen. • Outdoor Shower: Opposite the Rustic Kitchen. Indoor shower ask if available, it is often closed due to indoor guest rental. Text for more information. Let us know if your dog (or you) isn’t social. Neighboring dogs may visit; a simple "Go Home" will send them on their way. Local Attractions: • Kurt Gowdy State Park (22 miles away): Rent a kayak, go for a hike to the hidden falls, or stop for dinner at The Bunkhouse Bar & Grill, which offers live music on weekends. • Wyoming State Capitol (7 miles away): Located in downtown Cheyenne. The Rib & Chop House is a popular dining spot. • Little Bear Inn Steakhouse and The Brand Bar (3 country miles from camp): Enjoy local ranch-style beef. Additional Notes: • Camping Style: This is primitive, boondocking, dry camping, or rustic ranch camping with great water! No dump stations or hookups available. • Electric Site: We do have one electric site (120 volts). See the other listing for details. • Quiet Hours: No loud generators (over 60 decibels) allowed. All generators off by 10 PM and on after 7 AM. • Port-a-Pot: There is one port-a-pot on-site, emptied every Wednesday. Please be considerate and use the facilities properly. • Seasonal Outdoor Shower: With on-demand hot water, located on the side of the large outdoor kitchen with electric and two barns. In the off-season (Sept-June), ask about the indoor shower at the Guest House (availability may vary due to private bookings). Accommodations: • Guest House & Lodging: We rent rooms in our Guest House, Horsebox Renovation, and Guest House Lodging (hostel style). These are currently available through another app. See the main website, Last Chance Camp, Cheyenne, for online booking. • Camping Options: 10 acres of prairie with fresh water available in the NW corner in the trees (look for the sign). Tents can be pitched anywhere west of the house in the trees or on the prairie. The greenhouse is also available during off-season months—let us know if you're interested in camping there, as it's much warmer. Group Camping & Lodging Events: • We offer group camping for events, mainly in July during Cheyenne Frontier Days. See the website for more information. • Lodging: 22 Ft Tipi, Horsebox Renovation, Motorhome, Bell Tent. All are furnished. We are working on a better website, in the meantime just ask. Our very friendly and socialized dog "Brandon", he's black and white ranch dog who is our greeter, he's ready to play with you or your dog(s). Alarm me if your dog is old or grumpy so Brandon doesn't get hurt ok?! Please do the doo doo pick up. Friendly dogs can be *supervised* off-leash. Barnie the orange barn cat is shy, he was a feral rescue so he's skittish, no holding, loud noise or attempts to pick up, he may allow but when spooked he may accidently scratch you getting away. ... but he loves a good scratching ... if your lucky! Painted Buffalo Tipi – A 22-Foot Retreat - Book Now for June-October 2025 Experience the charm of the Painted Buffalo, a spacious 22-foot tipi located on the High Plains of Wyoming. Perfect for gatherings, romantic getaways, meetings, and more. It comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests with 2 Queen Hammock Cots and 3 Tri-Fold Twin Size Mats that also make great seats. Arrival & Facilities: • Check-In/Out: 1:00 PM / 11 PM • Camping Style: This is Not Glamping. Enjoy being Rustic and self-sufficient. • A prophane firepit is in the Tipi. Politely let them know if the circle is closed. Cheyenne Frontier Days (July 19-30): • During this period, the campground will be bustling with 1,500 guests. The tipi will be centrally located amidst RVs—only fun-loving campers should book during this time.
