Charles and Sarah have such a beautiful piece of land. The views are amazing and the stars are so bright! They went beyond accommodating us and even went to town twice just for a hammock and some extra water when we ran out. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet desert getaway

Sarah & Charles were extremely welcoming and helpful on an impromptu trip we planned. The scenery was gorgeous and perfect for getting away. I was able to drive my car without problems, just drive slow and watched for sharp rocks to avoid! Would definitely recommend!!!

Amazing experience under the stars, a very quiet site.
We’ve ben warmly welcomed by Charles & Sarah and their family. Couldn’t and better campground! Becareful getting there, it’s a bit tricky to find the place, follow Indian Spring road.

Awesome spot to camp and such lovely hosts! We got in and Charles directed us right to our spot. The fire pit, table and chairs & compost toilet were great amenities. They even smoothed out a section of the spot for our tent, so nice. Beautiful sunset! Got to romp around the land a bit in the morning before taking off too, lots more to explore but we were strapped for time. Overall highly recommend.

Sarah & Charles were great—very communicative and super friendly. The camp site was private and absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend arriving during daylight given the rocky dirt road you take in. Loved our stay!

The landscape is gorgeous! There is a sacred feeling about the land there. Sunsets were breathtaking. It is rustic and quite remote, which suited us fine. We had a wonderful time with all of our family, (including dogs) there. There was space for all of us and many shady spots under ancient juniper and pinion pine trees. There were places to hike, spots to meditate, and the hammock provided hours of fun for the kids and a restful spot for adults. Our hosts, Charles and Sarah, were 100% available to answer questions, to refill hand washing water and tend to the composting toilet, and had more water available for us when our supply ran out. We felt well supported by them. We loved meeting them and their family. The road in is rough but we did manage to get in there (on a dry day) with a Subaru and a Ford Escort!

Charles and Sarah were lovely hosts to stay with in this desert hide away! The campsite was lovely and very secluded. The lack of light around made the stars incredible! Amazing!

Sarah and Charles were wonderful hosts!! They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their land and the history of it. Charless directions were perfect 👌 i made the mistake of going left instead of right at the last fork.. when his boys saw us make the wrong turn they ran after our car a good 1/4 mile to make sure we didnt get lost!!! The location of their property was stunning 😍 butcher knife valley was breathtaking and the night sky was something we will never forget! A huge thank you to Sarah and Charles for letting us enjoy their little piece of arizona paradise, and to their boys for making sure we got there 😊❤❤❤. We will be back!!!

Our stay at Canyon Overlook Tent Pitch was amazing. Great hosts as well. The view during sunset and sunrise was everything they had explained. They included so many things for us as well without asking. 10/10 would stay here again!

Sarah & Charles were great hosts! The site was well maintained with plenty of space. On arrival Charles was happy to help with anything we needed and explained the area and how to enjoy it best! The sunsets over the canyon were incredible! Looking forward to visiting again!

We loved this place. Wanted to stay longer. Sarah ,Charles, and their family is awesome. The canyon overlook was amazing and the zero light pollution made for a remarkable stay. The restroom accommodation exceeded most. Also, firewood delivery at dusk. Hope to stay for a week next time. We are home now and already miss it.

I have done a 2 month camping trip across the southwest and this is my favorite spot! Peaceful, quiet, remote with an amazing view off the edge of the canyon. Sarah and Charles were very welcoming and thoughtful. Love the private outhouse and washing station. Would absolutely go out of my way to stay here again. Plan for 40 minutes on dirt roads to get there.

Canyon Overlander
Sarah and Charles are awesome hosts with a sweet little property. Definitely try to arrive during daylight because the drive is pretty and can be daunting at night. It’s not a dangerous road, no cliffs or winding, but it’s pretty dark and rocky. Charles met us even though we arrived late and showed us to our overlander spot. It had a nice fire pit and he provided us with a table, chairs, a rinsing station and soap. They even helped us start our fire! The next morning we were invited to see the rest of the property which is higher up and overlooks the canyon. There were more cool seating and lounging areas we were invited to use. Our kids loved the teepee set up and musical instruments. The hosts recommended hiking areas and when we had to leave, they suggested places to stop in Williams. They even followed up a few days later for camping recommendations in other towns! It was really great meeting Sarah and Charles and hearing the story of their gorgeous property. We hope to be back soon!

First, Sarah and Charles (and their kids) are amazing and so helpful. Charles took me directly to my site so that I wouldn’t get lost and they personally brought the firewood to my campsite (they have bundles for purchase which makes packing easier!) They knew all of the great spots in town and the history of their property.
Secondly, the property is STUNNING. I could sit and watch the sunset there forever. It was so peaceful and the views were 10/10. My dogs loved exploring the property and just hanging out by the perfect little campfire. I truly felt like I was camping in the middle of nowhere and it was exactly what I needed to reset my mind for the coming week!

This place is absolutely stunning. From the hill tops, stars, trees, but most importantly away from the noise. Wish we would have spent more time camping here. If you want to get away from it all and experience nature at its best, this is the place. They were awesome host. We will be back again for sure !

This campground is great! Besides a little trouble getting to the site because of the unimproved roads, we felt very much safe and relaxed at the site. The host was very nice and welcoming despite us being late and he even gave us a bit of history of his land which was very cool, even for a native Arizonan. The fire pit was large enough and the host even provided some chairs although we brought our own. The table provided is big enough to do all the cooking and camp prep and the table even had its own chairs. The toilet is not your usual toilet you find at state or national parks, but it worked out fine. The overlook is so beautiful and we loved waking up to the views! You feel like you have complete privacy yet the host is still close to holler at if you need anything.
For cell phone service, we have AT&T and T-Mobile. We both got reception and LTE speeds. We only lost connection on the way to the site.
The roads are a bit tricky if you do not follow the host’s directions, but they were very clear. He did better than my navigation. The roads are unimproved so I would suggest a higher clearance car but a simple sedan can make it if you don’t mind driving a bit slower.
We will definitely be returning to the site!

Amazing spot on a rounded mesa overlooking a rolling canyon and the high plains of the Colorado Plateau. Incredible sunset and sunrise views, and room to explore. Other campers were staying at the adjacent sites but we still felt like we had the mountain to ourselves. The dirt road to the site was easy to follow with the directions provided, however HIGHLY recommend arriving during daylight (especially the first time). The driveway to our specific site was a little tight and rough (and could use improvement), but our Outback made it just fine with only a few scratches (from the sage scrub). We stayed two nights and spent a full day exploring the south rim of the Grand Canyon, which is roughly 1.5 hours away. Charles and Sarah did a great job to ensure the site was comfortable: sturdy table and chairs, clean rv-style toilet, hand-washing station, nice fire ring, and the tent space was amazing! The ground is generally very rocky, with sneaky little cacti all over the place, but the hosts (before our arrival) created a comfortable sandy space to perfectly fit our tent. It's a fantastic location and I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Charles and Sarah!

The site is awesome! I love the ridges one view, hard to get that at most campsites. The hosts were awesome, they actually filled us in on checking out the Williams Christmas parade, which we loved! They lead us into the site as it was dark, which was much appreciated. It can be slightly confusing so definitely follow their directions.
As far as the site, the fire pit was perfect and they had a hand washing station set up on at the picnic table (has chairs!) the compost tool Lief was super easy to use and discreet (LNT!). Didn’t use the shower (way too cold). Plenty of space for our 4person size tent, flat ground. If you get a chance to chat with Charles, do so! He has so much knowledge on the wildlife and area. Definitely must stay!

Sarah and Charles were so helpful. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts. They have such an amazing place to camp. We’ve never seen that many stars before. I would definitely camp here again!

Wanna get far away? Only hear the wind and be in raw nature? This is the place.
Coming off a long road trip this is exactly what I needed. Sarah and Charles where warm and inviting and made sure I had everything if I needed it.
Even my big ProMaster made it up! But a truck be the way to go!

Absoutley amazing. I stayed at site 2 and you can see the drop off as soon as you pull up. I had big lifted trunda and it fit snugged right where we were camping. Sarah & Charles were the best hosts. Gave us a little backround on the area and there lives. Amazing and very genuine people . I also brought my 2 dogs and they loved everything. Alots of trees also so i didnt really need my canopy. The Stars were the best part. You can the whole MILKY WAY.

Amazing!!! Let me start off by saying the host’s are awesome! Sarah and Charles had everything perfectly set up, gave great directions, were easy to work with and were super friendly.
The site is great everything you need for a getaway. The view was amazing all the nature sounds were great and watching the sunset and sunrise from the over view was so awesome!
I would highly recommend this site for your next camping trip they have so much space to roam around and explore on their property and only an hour 20 min to Grand Canyon.

Let me at least start off by saying how wonderful our hosts were. Charles and Sarah were more than accommodating from start to finish. Charles met us at the entrance to make sure we had the right directions to their secluded property, and then, Sarah was there to make sure we didn’t miss the turn in. The drive was a good twenty minutes off a paved road, but that’s what you’d expect when you’re booking a a TRUE getaway! Their happy family lives there and are so knowledgeable about the rich history and culture of Juniper Woods Ranch: It really helps you to feel connected to the land. Needless to say the views are more than spectacular. Our campsite overlooked a canyon on their property which served as a beautiful setting for the sunset every day. They had also set up a wash station for us free of charge along with their compost restroom which was very nice to have. We bought a couple bundles of fire wood which provided nice warmth in the cool, fall nights. They also offer other amenities if you find yourself needing them. I would recommend them to anyone passing through the area. I’m glad we decided on camping on their property and hope to go back soon! You won’t be disappointed. There’s so much to say about this wonderful spot, but words can only tell so much.

The site was awesome! Lots of space to set up camp, plenty of seating, fire pit and table made any “lounge time” around the campsite comfy. The view over the canyon is AMAZING! There was plenty of space to adventure to see more of the area. The best part of the stay was talking with Sarah and Charles! They were super friendly and gave us some cool history about the land. Plus we got some great tips on good coffee/shopping areas near the campsite. 11 out of 10 would definitely recommend!
