Sonnberg Summit! Best views in Vic!
We stayed here for 4 nights in a group of 30. Great site and only 10 mins drive to the lake for swimming. Would definitely recommend!

Great camping spot. Would definitely pick this one in summer as the summit has no tree cover.
The view of the stars was awesome, being nice and high up the hill meant amazing views of the lake and stars.
There were hundreds of butterflies around which was lovely.
The campground is a bit rocky, so make sure you pack proper thick pegs.
There’s spots for maybe 6 or so tents to camp flat and more if you don’t mind a bit of a slant.
We went for New Years and we could *just* hear the other campsites music, definitely not close enough / loud enough to bother you at all.

I really enjoyed camping at Michael's site - the view of Lake Eildon from the camp-site is beautiful! The site has a couple of different spots to set up tent and is pretty private - the main road is about 60 or so metres from the camp-site but wasn't very busy and so wasn't an issue. Its about 30 min drive to Mansfield or Yea, if you need extra supplies. Would definitely recommend!

Overall we had a great weekend, site is private, fantastic view & great weather. On the Friday the wind was up and being on the ridge it can rip through quite a bit.

Flying fox lookout summit!
Exactly as described, the view of the lake is amazing. Not a huge amount of flat land, but certainly enough to spread out for 1 family. Almost unlimited wood, and almost no bugs. Great combo. Was nice to be able to close gate and leave camp set up. Far enough from the road that there was only minimal noise. We'll be back.

Gorgeous views!! Hilly site with a fairly steep drop off (it is a summit!) So you'll want to watch your smaller kiddos. Not much shade up top but lovely shaded area on lower side.
Michael super responsive and easy to deal with, we'll be back with a few mates in Jan so will give more info then!

Me and my 24 friends came and stayed on Michaels campsite and we were blown away by the view. Michael was great at communicating with us too.
We hired a toilet also an Michael was able to help with that too.

10/10 views from this camp site overlooking Lake Eildon. Was awesome having so much firewood available too.
Only problem was a locked gate on arrival which we couldn’t unlock with the code. Owner was quick to respond to our texts and luckily we found an alternative way in.

Hands down the best camp site I’ve been to in Vic! The most incredible views. So much space and great location. Can’t recommend highly enough. Michael was a great host with helpful information the entire time.

Sonnberg Summit! Best views in Vic!
This campsite was incredible! The views were something you have to see with your own eyes to realise how spectacular it is. We loved the starry night sky and got to watch the sun rising above the mountains and the lake. Thank you Michael for having us and for the speedy communication!

This was our third trip to the Summit and it has been perfect every time. Michael is always amazingly accommodating, quick to respond and the perfect host. It really might be the best campsite in Victoria (we've stayed at a few!) If you're looking for peace and quiet and amazing views, this is the pl..ace.

Flying fox lookout summit was our first Hicamp experience and we couldn't be happier. The view is spectacular, there is amazing Aussie wildlife all about (we didn't see any flying foxes, but bluetongues, cockatoos, rosellas, wedgetails were all about). There is plenty of good wood for burning and we had a really relaxing stay. The *only* thing I would say is that the site is close enough the road that 4x4s hooning past distract from the serenity from time-to-time, but all in all we wouldn't hesitate to com back. Thanks Michael!

This property was Amazing. Set on a hilltop, high above Lake Eildon. You were literally in the clouds at morning time. Loved the convenience of being able to lock the gate, leave our stuff and head out to town or go fishing.
Plenty of fallen trees for firewood, but you will need to bring an Axe and chainsaw. The area was nice and clean, absolutely loved the privacy that this place offered. And the view, omg the view. It was fantastic and we all had a blast. We did not get to meet the host, but honestly, that was one of the nice things about it, being the only people there, was one of the main reasons we chose this place. We went with a stock standard Ute and a 13foot caravan, made it up there no worries. However the hilltop is narrow, so turning around required some guidance. And watch out for the blue rock at the entrance, its fairly small and we did miss it and had to turn around.

Stunning spot! Doesn't get much better than this. We'll be back for sure! Take extra blankets if the weather isn't warm, but there is plenty of firewood to build a big fire.

This place was great. Michael was a fabulous host; quick to respond to all questions, very helpful directions and suggestions and couldn't have been easier to deal with. Beautiful views, plenty of firewood, lots of trees and easy to get to – great little escape spot.

Sonnberg Summit or Flying Fox, both are amazing. Thank you Michael for your hospitality, flexibility and your availability. Sonnberg might actually be the most beautiful campsite in Victoria. We decided to head away for one night, late notice, and it couldn't have been more perfect.

Great spot with great views of Lake Eildon. Spot is very big but next to the road, so you probably want to set up towards the back. Hardly any traffic on the road so don't worry about thay. Heaps of firewood around. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing property with perfect private campsite!! The weather was pretty wild be we stayed off the top of the hill which was more sheltered. The top of the hill had amazing views and we would definitely stay here again. It's also nice that we were the only ones on the property.

Friendly host with helpful & clear directions to getting to the property. Quiet, peaceful location with incredible views over Eildon Lake. Open & shaded areas. Great place to enjoy. I hope to be back sometime.
