A camp site specifically designed for the cross-country traveler on the go. Just a few short miles (nearly all 4-lane blacktop) off I-40 north of Conway we have created a site designed for easy access and efficient camping. Moreover it lies at the edge of Pinnacle Springs Campground and thus offer miles of trails and river to explore if one has a little extra time. And even if in a hurry to break ground after a night's sleep one can still explore the cascades of nearby Tanner's Pool Trail before departing in the morning.
The campsite has everything: picnic table, bench, and fire ring with grill -- even a bundle of firewood ready to burn. And electricity, water and clean porta-potty are all readily available for your use. Instant booking allows for last minute reservations late into the night if so desired. This camp is designed for quick in and out camping. Approaches:
1) Walk -- Park at the gate (small field just to the right). Campsite is less than 100 feet away via Tanner's Pool Trail. You can see green table and bench from gate.
2) Drive -- If unlocked, open the gate (lift loop over post to open, close to maximize privacy and security) and drive through pine grove. As soon as you emerge from pine grove there is a road off to your right -- follow, bearing right until you loop back to arrive at campsite -- you can park literally aside your tent. Hint:
We strongly encourage you to explore the grounds while visiting -- Tanner's Trail which descends the hill from the campsite offers a great way to see the land and access the river.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had a wonderful time here camping along the creek.
Loved having a picnic tables at our site and bench to watch the water. The land is absolutely beautiful! We will be back for sure! There are several sites here, we happen to be the only ones this time which was so peaceful, but i imagine in the summer it is quite popular having a swimming hole!
Peaceful creekside night!
Thank you John for a peaceful one night stay! We followed John’s suggestion to stay in the Pinnacle Creek Campground ( which is part of his property) that provided a creekside location for our pop-up van. The site had a creekside picnic table and a wonderful fire pit with a grill. It was very private and had a level spot for our van. We fell asleep to the sound of a rushing creek! John was very easy to communicate with and gave excellent directions to his property. We got there at nightfall and he came down to greet us and give us pointers for nearby hikes. It was a perfect spot to spend the night on a cross country journey and only 20ish miles from Hwy 40. We would happily return if we pass this way again! Many thanks John for a peaceful night stay!
John was a nice host, very friendly. The campgrounds also double as a kayaking/canoeing outfit, so take advantage of that (I didn't get a chance to do so).
It's a great spot if you're passing through. VERY EASY TO GET TO. I had signal all the way there and even at the campsite (T-Mobile).
It is also a very nice spot if you live locally and want to get away from the city. About an hour away from Little Rock, its a fantastic "stay-cation".
There is a steep hill leading to the campgrounds but, its well maintained and I saw a sedan make the slope with little hassle.
The campsite was right next to Cadron Creek and there was a well established fire pit and a picnic table.
Campsites aren't as primitive as I would have liked and are pretty close to each other. If you're looking for pristine nature this isn't the spot, it is heavily trafficked and its apparent. Trails are lackluster, but there are some rewarding waterfalls!! I wasn't able to find Tanner's Pool, the trail was a bit confusing.
It offers more as a kayaking/canoeing spot but is transitioning nicely into a well rounded campground.
River rapids & bald eagles=bliss
If you are shopping around for a place to stay for the night (or several), you can stop looking! This place is GREAT! We were here during the week and had the place to ourselves for a couple of nights during March. Upon entering the property and looking for our campsite, we were greeted by a Bald Eagle near the waters edge fishing near the rapids of the river. We knew we had found the site for us. The constant background noise of the rapids while looking across the water at an old, large Indian rock shelter nestled in the side of the hills turns out to be the worlds best tranquilizer....who knew lol. There are lots of great sites to camp on at this property. Bathrooms are port-a-potties that were very clean. We only had one question for our hosts, which was answered within a couple of hours. Overall, it was a surprisingly wonderful stay and we look forward to returning.
