Worked out well as a launching point for Grand Canyon hiking and nighttime stargazing. Scheduled the stay around the new moon and weather was perfect for the most amazing night sky we ever experienced. The dispersed camping is absolutely minimal and the feeling is of incredible isolation, despite the somewhat nearby glamping tents; no noise or light spilled over into our camping area, and the night sky was amazing down to the horizon in every direction. Great experience - except for the really precarious ditch entering and exiting the wash near the camping area. We were in a capable but heavily loaded subaru that ultimately made it through OK, but we were very concerned about getting stuck or busting the squashed suspension. All in all a good stay.

Beautiful dry camping spots. Plenty of smaller trees to block the sunrise or afternoon sun, whichever you like least. Each day over memorial day weekend, only took 40 minutes to get from camp to the rim trail, maybe 30 min of actual driving.

Chose this to camp at since the Grand Canyon camping was full for my semi last minute trip. This was my first time using Hip Camp and it was great! Instructions were very helpful and my husband and I drove around until we found a spot we liked. There were a few people glamping in the yurts, but otherwise it was just us on the tent camping side. Very beautiful with the trees and hills in the background. It was very cold the one night we were there, but worth it for the views!

Hi Caroline! Thank you for staying with us and I am glad you enjoyed the views! We are working with the weatherman to improve the weather, it's a common piece of feedback we get when people come and stay with us early season! ;)

Being so close to GCNP, it was so nice to spend a day there and drive just a little out of the park to camp. Pitching a tent and relaxing on a quiet private acreage was just what we needed.

Easy dispersed camping within striking distance of the Grand Canyon! Lovely stargazing, cozy fire rings, good toilets… What more could you need?

Well, we ended up not staying there due to location issues on our part. But the communication or information from both the host and HIPCAMP was very good.

Pretty remote and vast space, definitely very private. Easy to find even though the listing said that people were having trouble with directions. The last stretch of road is unpaved and quite rough - not recommended after dark. No toilets in site.

Response from Trisha, the Host, on June 5th, 2021

Hi Samar, thanks for your feedback -- we are constantly trying to improve our access, as the entire Grand Canyon area is very rural! We do have 4 toilets onsite, just across the road on the glamping side of our property!

Paid $54 to sleep on the ground for a night. Not worth

Hipcamper Trisha
Response from Trisha, the Host, on June 5th, 2021

Hi Joel, that's what camping is! We are $29 / night (less than most other campsites in the area) but when you book additional sites and bring more people, that price does change!

I thought the camping itself was great, directions were easy. Road was rough! Definitely not gravel, think more, hard-packed dirt with huge bumps and dips. Made it fine in jeep, but be cautious driving.
