A scenic view of Gairloch

Gairloch is the perfect base for exploring the northwest Highlands and enjoying its abundant outdoor activities, from hill walking to trout fishing and dolphin- and whale-spotting. It’s also a great base for those making their way along the North Coast 500 driving route. The beaches here are great, and offer views of the volcanic peaks of Assynt and across the Minch to the islands of Raasay, Skye and Lewis and Harris. Six miles northeast of Gairloch, the 2,000-acre Inverewe Garden features native and non-native flora, including towering redwoods, and the chance to spot Scotland’s Big Five: red squirrels, red deer, otters, seals and golden eagles.
