Lovingly restored with great respect for its heritage, the wagon is like a living museum—offering a unique and atmospheric getaway. While steeped in history, the wagon is thoughtfully equipped with modern comforts including solar power, a USB port for charging your devices, and essential amenities. Your pitch features a fire pit, cooking utensils, kettle, picnic bench, hot water shower, washing-up area, and eco-friendly toilets—everything you need for a memorable and comfortable stay. The showman’s wagon The largest of our wagons once belonged to Arthur Napper, the legendary founder of steam rallies as we know them today. His name is still proudly displayed on the original pan box beneath the wagon — a nod to a man whose passion for heritage helped preserve the world of steam and fairgrounds for future generations. This wagon is around 130 years old, likely it was once pulled by horses before steam engines were invented. Known as a Road Rail wagon it would have gone from town to town by train and then from the station into town by a team of heavy horses. Hence the Road Rail name… Unlike many wagons in the glamping market today, ours are not replicas — they are original 18th-century Showman’s wagons, restored with care and authenticity. When you stay in one of our wagons, you’re not simply glamping — you’re stepping into a living piece of history. A quiet corner of the countryside where the music of the carousel still lingers in the air, and the spirit of the fair lives on in every lovingly preserved detail.
