Stanford Farm

Stanford Farm is an award-winning rural wedding venue, its stables and courtyard typically hosting a couple's special day. But while it may usually be host to a wedded couple kissing against the backdrop of its lakeside pergola, or prosecco glasses clinking in its converted cowhouse, it also opens itself up to guests looking to experience this magic in its glamping accommodation.

Stanford Farm has been in the Edwards family for over 100 years, tucked away on the Welsh Border in the countryside of Shropshire. Host Cindy may typically be helping husbands-and-wives-to-be have the best day possible, but the charm of the venue lends itself incredibly well to glamping breaks, too.

There are a number of options to choose from here to suit a variety of guests, whether you're travelling in a small group or trying to find something to suit a larger party. The shepherd's hut and hobbit houses provide enough space for a couple of guests apiece, while the site's double-decker bus conversion—lovingly named 'Dame Shirley Bussy'—provides a quirky place to stay for up to six. Then there's the piece de resistance in the form of the farmhouse, with its five bedrooms, large garden and hot tub accommodating up to 12 guests for more sizeable groups.

Given that Stanford is a quiet farm rather than the typical bustling campsite, its hosts prefer that guests book in groups. This means that parties such as hen and stag parties are welcome, with the farm providing a number of potential activities, from wine tasting evenings to bookable pamper parties, massages and even the use of the culinary skills of the in-house chef. Or, if you're looking to venture off-site, paintball, quad bikes, paddle boarding and a variety of rural pubs are all within walking distance. Much like the newly wedded couples who say their vows here, you won't be able to leave Stanford Farm without a smile on your face.
