A magical log cabin in Cornwall with a wild jacuzzi, luxurious amenities, and nature galore.

A ‘wildcation’. Yes. It's a thing. And it awaits here, in West Cornwall, at Little Menherion’s cabins, three extraordinary glamping spaces for two. This is a magical spot for those looking to reconnect with nature, nestled within a 12-acre smallholding of fledgling woodland, orchards, streams and ponds, and in close proximity to St. Ives and Falmouth. Each cabin is uniquely crafted and set in their own spaces – either nestled in the woods or in amongst the grasses of a beautifully tranquil meadow overlooking a wildlife pond.

Each pairs luxury with sustainability, all wrapped up in eminently cosy rural retreats. Hosts, Bernice and Huw, describe their Cornish valley as “middle of everywhere”. But, frankly, you could be forgiven for not wanting to move a muscle once you're here. You can just sit on the cabin decks admiring the wildlife surrounding you – there are owls, cuckoos, woodpeckers, deer, bats, and more – cook dinner around the firepit at night (or indoor BBQ if you choose to stay in Tylda Krow, or soak up your surroundings in the wild jacuzzi.

The site is eco-friendly yet doesn’t cut corners when it comes to your comfort. Each cabin boasts a kingsize bed with views out onto the woodland or up to the stars. Flick on the DAB radio (or throw a record on the turntable if your in Tylda Krow) and then curl up with a book in the hammock made for two, before freshening up in the bathroom with its hot shower and luxurious composting toilet.

If you can pull yourself away from the cabin, the local pub is only a 10-minute walk away. From there you can also visit Stithians Lake, a favourite among watersports enthusiasts, with an adjacent five-mile walking route (bring your wellies!) and a cafe with yet more beautiful views out onto the water.

Log Jam

Treehouse · Sleeps 2
Built gently around the trees to minimise its impact on the land, Log Jam feels woven into the woodland rather than placed upon it. Thoughtfully designed for comfort in every season, it offers the magic of a treehouse with the substance of a well-crafted cabin. Inside you’ll find a private shower room with piping hot water, a heated towel rail, and a luxurious composting toilet (think sawdust instead of water to flush). The lounge and kitchen space is warm and welcoming centred around a wood-burner, with a wall of books and games, two generous picture windows, a handmade, well-equipped kitchen and breakfast bar, and a deep chesterfield sofa to sink into. A secret bedroom houses a kingsize cabin bed beneath a large picture window — wake slowly to shifting light and birdsong. Beneath the bed, your dog has their own cosy retreat, and beyond the deck lies over six acres of woodland to explore together. Outside, a generous wrap-around verandah runs the full length of the cabin and around the shower room. There’s a handmade swing seat for two, dining table and chairs, and hanging points for a hammock made for lazy afternoons.

Round n Round - romantic roundhouse

Cabin · Sleeps 2
Round n Round is exactly that - two circular cabins joined by a timber link corridor. The smaller roundhouse houses the private copper-walled shower room, while the larger space holds the kitchen, dining area, log burner and mezzanine bedroom rising up through the centre of the cabin. The shower room is warm and atmospheric, with a walk-in hot water shower, heated towel rail and a luxurious composting toilet (think sawdust rather than water to flush). A sky dome above brings daylight pouring in, while soft lighting adds a gentle glow in the evenings. In the main roundhouse, the handcrafted circular kitchen is fully equipped with hob, toaster, cafetière, pots and pans and everything you need for slow, simple cooking. Three full-length slot windows frame different woodland views, shifting the light and mood throughout the day. At the heart of the space sits the wood burner - complete with Dutch oven - surrounded by books, maps and games, and a deep leather sofa for unhurried evenings. A handcrafted spiral staircase winds up to the mezzanine, built on tree trunks, where a kingsize bed rests beneath its own sky dome. Think treetops by day, stars by night. Please note: there is some restricted headroom around parts of the mezzanine bed and near the top of the stairs. Outside, a circular deck wraps the cabin, with dining table and chairs, hammock points and a private fire pit with rustic seating — your own woodland clearing for slow evenings.

Tylda Krow - wood-fired cabin+yurt

Cabin · Sleeps 2
Tylda Krow brings together three distinct spaces connected by an elevated deck: a wood-fired cabin divided into a shower room and octagonal BBQ hut, and a 6.5m Mongolian yurt that serves as both bedroom and lounge. The layout between the cabin spaces is largely step-free, with low thresholds and generous door openings, and there is step-free access from the rear. Movement between the shower room and BBQ hut is smooth and straightforward. Access into the yurt involves a small threshold step as you cross the deck, and the circular interior has a more relaxed, informal flow. The yurt itself is authentically insulated with thick felt and insulated wooden flooring, creating a warm, grounded space in every season. Beneath a generous sky dome sits a king-size bed, with treetops by day and stars above by night. A comfortable sofa, books and games, its own wood burner and a discreet heater make it a place to linger long after dark. Across the deck, one cabin door leads to the fully insulated shower room — lined with sheep’s wool insulation — complete with piping hot water, heated towel rail and a luxurious composting toilet (think sawdust rather than water to flush). The other opens into the octagonal BBQ hut, the heart of Tylda Krow. A Scandi grill sits centre stage, surrounded by seating with subtle cylinder heaters tucked beneath the benches and a well-equipped prep space with everything you need for slow, satisfying cooking. Here, the fire replaces the traditional campfire — sheltered, elemental and ready whatever the weather. Outside, the deck links each space together and looks out across meadow grasses bordered by Cornish hedges and a protective line of trees. There’s step-free access at the rear if needed, an outdoor dining table and chairs, and a hammock frame just beside the deck for unhurried afternoons. The wildlife pond sits around 70 metres away down the meadow slope, a quiet spot to wander to and sit awhile, should you feel inclined.

Welcome to Little Menherion, a magical place to hide away, where luxury glamping in Cornwall meets the call of the wild. Escape the everyday, pack your imagination, bring your adventurous spirit and embark on a journey where every moment is filled with joy, wonder and a touch of mischief. From stargazing under the open sky to toasting marshmallows over crackling campfires. Let your imagination run wild. Little Menherion is home to just three cabins - Log Jam, Round n Round and Tylda Krow - carefully spaced across the land for privacy and quiet. Each one sits in their own 1/2+ acre private space separated from the rest of the property at the end of a lichen filled lane. Each have their own verandah - a great place to sit with your coffee and enjoy the sunrise through the trees & the nature on your doorstep, you will find hammock points just off the deck for a double hammock. You can wander around Little M taking in the wildlife pond and watch the damsel/dragonflies or go on a nature walk through the 8+ acres re-wilding area or arrange a tour of the organic no-dig veg garden. Our meticulously designed luxury glamping spaces are lovingly crafted for couples and offer a harmonious blend of comfort & adventure. Every element is thoughtfully curated to awaken your senses and ignite your spirit. Access to Little Menherion is via half a mile of unmade track, please drive slowly and take your time; it’s the first gentle nudge into the slow lane. In summer the Cornish hedges grow enthusiastically (farmers aren’t permitted to cut them during nesting season), so parking sensors may protest a little. The lane is wide enough for standard vehicles - even delivery lorries make it up comfortably. Each cabin has one allocated parking space. You’re welcome to borrow one of our up-cycled bicycles during your stay, or hire an e-bike if you’d prefer a little assistance. (ask in advance) There’s also a natural wild water pool in the stream, heated only by the sun and filled only by the rain... the ultimate eco-friendly dip for the brave. Little Menherion sits in the middle of everywhere, Cornwall. Its a place to hide away and switch off or use as a base to explore the county’s coastline and culture. St Ives and the Eden Project are each around 45 minutes away in opposite directions
Nearby attractions

Stithians Lake is around a 10-minute walk away, a reservoir with activities including kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, and sailing. An on-site activities team will get you set up for the day, and fly-fishing permits are available to purchase, too.

St. Ives is a 40-minute drive away to the northwest, a world-famous picturesque harbour and seaside town that makes for a great day out at the beach. There are six beaches here, from the tropical vibes of Porthminster with its palm trees and tranquil waters, through to Harbour beach which looks out onto the nearby fishing boats. Then there’s the Tate art gallery & Barbara Hepworth Museum that are also worth a look.

Falmouth is a 20-minute drive south, home to one of the world's largest natural harbours. Here the water is so close that there are various spots along the high street from which you can see it, and it's also recommended that guests visit the award-winning National Maritime Museum & Pendennis Castle in order to fully appreciate the region's interesting historical heritage.

Other things to explore nearby:

Gwithian beach & seals

Eden project

Hidden gardens of Heligan

St Ives

Pendennis Castle & Falmouth

Food and drink

The Golden Lion Inn is the closest pub to the site, only a 10-minute walk away and right next to Stithians Lake. Well-known for its gorgeous beer garden, food is served here most days. The homemade pies and Sunday roasts are definitely worth a try.

For a truly unique dining experience, it's a 15-minute drive to the Carn Brea Castle Restaurant, set inside the titular 18th-century castle with a Middle Eastern menu. It is highly recommended you book in advance (01209 218 358).

Farm to Fork at Stithians Lake provides you with your local cafe, known for produce from their very own dairy farm next door. With awesome views out onto the reservoir, there's no better place to sit and enjoy a coffee, other than outside of your log cabin, of course!

For a fabulous sea view and excellent menu, why not check out The Cove Café at Hayle Towans on the northwest coast. Stunning views across to St Ives and miles of sandy beach in both directions to walk off your scrumptious lunch.

If you have brought your furry friend with you and think a lovely restaurant is out of the question, think again. The hosts recommend Indidog a harbourside restaurant in Falmouth, who welcome dogs with open arms (clue is in the title!)
