Kent is known for its historic stately homes – but which to visit first? Leeds Castle (25 minutes’ drive) has a host of activities, from guided tours to jousting tournaments and raptor displays, to keep families entertained all day. There are rose gardens to wander in Sissinghurst Castle Garden (10 minutes), and at moated Scotney Castle (25 minutes) you can follow trails through landscaped parkland. There’s more active stuff to do too; kids with energy to burn can wear themselves out on zipwires or mountain-biking trails at Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest (20 minutes), or on the inflatable course at Bewl Water Aqua Park (25 minutes). Younger children can cuddle the cute creatures at Buttercups Sanctuary For Goats (20 minutes), and any rainy-day issues are taken care of by the indoor pool at The Weald Sports Centre (10 minutes). If you’ve treated the kids to their day out, you deserve some me-time too. How about heading into Royal Tunbridge Wells (40 minutes) to browse indie shops or lunch in the cosy bistros of The Pantiles? I had a very scenic little spot near the apple orchard. Diane was very helpful with local knowledge of walks to pubs and castles. Very low light pollution for the star gazers out there! I really enjoyed my stay, nice and casual.

Great stay, was beautiful waking up to the church bells and all different types of birds. The host was fantastic at making sure I knew where to go and where everything was.

Lovely large site set in beautiful countryside, surrounded by orchards & woodland walks. No designated pitches, so pitch where you feel comfortable. Would definitely recommend this site & will be back, thank you Diane x

Place is good, especially apple trees, it should be very nice when it's blooming! Unfortunately no shower and if it's hot weather - you will be sad sweating. Plenty of space for everyone, not busy. Two toilets but might be a queue if more than 5-6 pitches occupied. castle garden can be reached by car in 5 minutes. Not much walking/hikes around. Must go during blooming season.

One of the best sites we have been. We went there the first and the last day. Very private, nice host and very nice to walk in the forest. Everything you need, clean toilet and a option tot do some dishes.

Host was amazing very lovely lady. Had our own section of field which was brilliant and had the cutest chickens, great location and was really nice waking up to the sounds of birds and sheep
