We rocked up late and didn't have the opportunity to meet the host but the campsite was an absolutely beautiful location would stay again.

Outstanding. One of the most beautiful locations in the country. A semi-wild campsite - small, quite basic, all about the location. No grumpy pensioners in motorhomes, just hikers, tents and a few camper vans. Fortunately, motorhomes can’t navigate the tight, narrow lanes. The location will blow you away. Looking down the valley and along the black hill is mesmerising. I can see a horizon more than thirty miles away, right now.

Lovely views, peaceful site, Ross was very welcoming.
This site is an absolute gem, wild camping at its best with views to die for. Not only was the wildflower meadow maintained beautifully, but the ability to chose your own spot, and your own view was perfect. On one side you have sunrise and the other is sunset. The Black Mountain (which is an easyish 30 minute hike) provides the backdrop and the views out over England and wales are just jaw dropping. Proximity to Hay on Wye is excellent and our dogs and kids as well as us loved every moment in this epic campsite. Thank you to Ross for arranging all we needed at the last minute and for being such a relaxed and effective host - we will be back! Suz, Ralph, Isla, Jonah, Bodhi dog and Tiri pup 😊
I had a lovely stay at this campsite in spectacular surroundings. Ross was so friendly and helpful. I even managed to climb up to Hay bluff straight from the campsite.

I really enjoyed staying on Ross land so peaceful, amazing scenery of black mountains, Ross is very friendly guy well be back in the future 100%
If you want some adventure, amazing scenery, serenity and space from the hustle and bustle of life this is the perfect place for you.
The campsite is located at such an amazing spot with fantastic views.
Ross was such a friendly and kind host.
We will be again for sure, my four year old first time camper is itching to go camping again.

A fabulous remote and quiet location with fabulous views. It’s quite high up and exposed so pack some layers!
Absolutely gorgeous spot !! Amazing Mountain View. Very basic but perfect for wanting to just chill in peace. The owner is so helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a quiet spot 😊

Amazing campsite, stunning views in every direction. We stayed here after our foraging course in Hay on Wye and we were greeted by Ross, super friendly and welcoming host. We thoroughly enjoyed walking in the local area. We can't wait to go back next year.
