The location felt magical, secluded and tranquil. The cabin and amenities were done really thoughtfully and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. I’ll be back for sure.

This is an idyllic spot - the camp itself is well equipped, well run and private with stunning views. The surrounding area is beautiful and we even made a short hop to the beach at West Wittering.

Great place to get away from it all - just me and my dog. He loved exploring the land and was very excited. Really impressed that so much had been thought about - you literally only need to bring food and clothes (and a dog).

The Shepherd’s Hut is tucked away in a field off a single track road. We loved having the field to ourselves and not having to worry whether our music was too loud. There is room in the hut for two adults and two children - one in a bunk bed and one in a Z bed. It was very cosy! We enjoyed spending time outside walking in the woods and sitting around the fire pit in the evening. We had a lovely meal in The Flying Bull pub which was only 10 minutes walk away. Alice was always quick to respond to my messages and I was very grateful when she posted items back to me which I left behind.

Great place to stay, lovely view, feels tucked away but only 10m walk to pub for dinner and a few minutes in the car to amenities. Well thought out with everything you need for a comfy low-key break. Even posh toiletries in the shower! Recommended ☺️

Alice is an incredible host with impeccable communication. We had a great experience all round, the hut was clean, well equipped and very cosy. It is set in a stunning location which is both serene and secluded but still close enough to great restaurants and pubs. Highly recommended. Massive thank you Alice !

We had a lovely time at the shepherds hut- there is a wonderful wooded walk right nearby and we didn’t see another person our whole stay :) Super cosy bed too :)

Absolutely wonderful stay , connecting with nature once again ,just me and the dog, total privacy , well set up , fire pit , outside kitchen , benches and bean bags I never knew could be so comfy to enjoy outside , condiments were provided such as fresh strawberry's ,marshmallows ,eggs , extra fire wood if needed , toilet, shower and a very comfy accomation providing books with info on animals or creatures you might come across on your stay , a power source for changing equipment a surprisingly comfortable bed, I thought my own bed was the best untill I met this one , the night time setting is amazing , the moon hits just the right spot the stars were clear on all 3 nights I spent there and I wish I brang a telescope , Sarah is such a wonderful person, always in contact at pivotal moment's , even during working hours she helped me , I hope to stay again next month and every month for a couple days from now on ,absolutely nothing more i could of asked for , also anyone looking to escape the city life needs a stay out like this to be at one with yourself or your family or pets it's perfect .....I will say there was one bee that had a vengeance but we worked out our differences and had a great time together, I named him Berty the bee 🤣❤️

Close to most of the attractions of the South Downs.
Cozy and clean and a great fire pit for roasted marshmallows (which were given for free! Along with eggs and strawberries, so awesome!)

We had a really lovely and relaxing stay. The hut is tucked away with a lot of privacy, situated in a very pretty area with great access to the forest. The outdoor kitchen, shower and toilet area were well equipped and clean. Sarah is also very responsive - highly recommend!

Truly magnificent stay. Lovely and peaceful setting, Alice laid out some home treats and the shepherd's hut, kitchen and wc/shower facilities were super clean and well equipped. The star gazing at night was great and it was so lovely and quiet. I would love to return.

We spent a long weekend in April in the shepherd's hut and had such a lovely time. The little outdoor kitchen was well stocked with all the basics and plenty of cooking pots and utensils. We cooked on the gas hob and on the campfire. The shower was hot and all the toiletries and towels were provided. The bed in the hut was super comfortable and we lit the burner inside on two out of three nights and it was very cosy. The only thing I would say was missing is some heat proof gloves for the cast iron pots we used on the campfire that got very hot. Otherwise, this place has everything to make your quiet stay in nature as comfortable as possible. Also, we've gone on some really lovely woodland walks without having to drive anywhere.

We spent a wonderful weekend at the hut! It’s situated in a beautiful setting, with walks through the ancient woodland on your doorstep. It’s very well equipped with everything you might need. Bigger than some huts, so we could eat inside. The only thing I would flag is that the private road you need to drive up turns into a pretty muddy track and after a night of rain, we were a little concerned our little car wouldn’t make it out (but it did!). Fabulous stay, would love to go back.

We loved our stay at Coombe's farm, the setting is beautiful. So much woodland surrounding the place, wild fields and the whole area is your own we didn't see a single soul down there I'm not actually sure where the farmhouse is in relation. The hut is so cute and cosy, the bed is super comfy! We loved the separate shower, toilet, kitchen hut, it makes you feel like you're glamping. The owner left us some brekky bits and marshmallows for the fire pit, it was a lovely and appreciated touch to the whole experience.

Such a fantastic set up in a beautiful location. Very comfortable and warm hut. Well kitted out kitchen and lovely shower, compost loo. Highly recommend for families looking for a secluded break.

We are just back from a lovely long weekend at the Shepherd’s hut. The privacy and peacefulness of the site was just what we were looking for. The adjacent woodland was great for dog walks too. There was a lot more there in terms of provisions than we were expecting. We showed up with our usual camping supplies and didn’t need any of it. Oil, tea, coffee, crockery, cutlery, pans, salt, pepper, loo roll, towels, bedding etc was all provided and there are bins on site too. Cleanest composting loo we have encountered and the shower was great. Solar powered lighting is everywhere you need it and there’s a fridge too.
We enjoyed seeing plenty of common lizards basking in the daytime (little tip - look out for them on the old pallet and few bits of wood in the tall grass at the side of the track) and heard plenty of owls and foxes at night. The main bed is incredibly comfortable but if you’re planning on using the top little bunk bed then maybe bring a mattress topper unless you like super firm beds. Alternatively, don’t bring dogs with you that kick you out of bed and make you have to use the top bunk!

This was a wonderful place for a glamping weekend. The hut is comfortable, warm, cosy. The kitchen has all the necessary pots and pans and even cast iron cookware to use on the fire! The shower and toilet work well. It is totally secluded, whilst being easily accessible in a normal car. There are lovely forest walks straight out the front door.

This is a lovely secluded spot offering a completely private camping experience. Great facilities means this works well for less seasoned campers and we paid extra to pitch a tent nearby and have a few more people join.

The shepherds hut was great. Everything we needed was there. Had a lovely evening cooking by the fire, then woke up with the sunset. Beautiful place. Great forest to walk around. Mister Men books were a perfect addition for our 3 year old.

From the drive down the track to the fern lined field you arrive in to stay at this beautiful hut you are hit with a sense of magic.
I've just come back from a very rainy few days in the cabin with all plans to pack in local exploration but as I left I was glad I was forced to stay still, light the fire and curl up with my book as the rain pattered on the roof.
The kitchen is so well equipped and loved a warm shower looking up at the stars. Everything has an eco focus which I loved. The footpath behind is beautiful (mushroom foragers will be happy!) and Alice provides excellent suggestions for your stay including the farm shop in Rotate which was brilliant.
The hut offers good quality bedding, modern and tasteful decor and even logs for the log burner are supplied. Everything is on 12v so no plugs which I was ready for and prefer!
I did get a few hours clear evening and the stars were magnificent! And all topped off with the sound of owls. I can see in summer this would be a very different experience but I LOVED cosying up in a very wet autumn - perfect for solo travellers and couples looking for romance. Or maybe an authors retreat.

Such a beautiful place, gorgeous woods to walk in, incredible views and an amazing space to hang out in. The outdoor beanbags, campfire and board games were a big hit with the kids. The local food basket and marshmallows were such a nice touch. Can’t wait to come here again. Thank you.
