Campsite 12 miles to DT Los Angeles
I was so thankful to find this spot. I was in the area for work for 2+ weeks, and as somebody that normally boondocks in forests I couldn't rationalize $100+ night rv resorts. Richard was quick to respond to our request to book, and provided all the information we needed to get there late in the night. We were surprised to have an extension cord for a 15a plug, which really was a nice bonus. The property is secure, and I felt comfortable leaving our rig while I was away at work during the day. We didn't have the opportunity to meet Richard directly, but he was super quick to respond to questions I had while there. We were also surprised to learn we could do laundry on site. The dryer is free, and the washer is 85 cents (3 quarters and a dime). The only downside is that the alley going down to the property is VERY tight and steep. We didn't have a problem getting down, but coming back up we had a clearance issue coming back onto the street. There's a slight dip where the alley levels down to the street and we had to use traction boards and our leveling blocks to keep our rearend high enough to clear our poop tube. If you have low clearance, just be aware and prepared to take some extra steps on your way out. I read some reviews about trucks being parked in the alley while folks were doing work on the property, but I can't complain because the guys working were always super quick to get their things moved out of the way when I was coming and going. Overall, a great experience

Richard was welcoming. The area is nice and quiet with a few friendly neighbors. Portable potty was clean and area is safe. I will definitely be coming back.

I had plans in Venice and Seal Beach. This was a decent safe place to leave my camper trailer while I was out during the day and the area is pretty quiet so I slept well at night.

Richard the host is great. He was there when I checked in and made sure I was good. The main hiccup I had was, on the reservation it says electric hook ups. Which there is, but only 15 amp. So for campers/rv’s, it’d be good to tell them its 15 amp, not 30 or 50 amp so they don’t think they’ll have access to normal power they’re used to. For the price in LA, it was good and got the job done for a few days.

For me it was a great location. Within minutes of my 15 relatives. Close to everything, stores highway, bike trails. And Dump station. The price is right for what it is.

Hard to find a place in the LA area, this was a welcome find. Nice quiet safe area, and met a couple friendly neighbors. As others have mentioned, the driveway is steep but our 24ft 9” low clearance RV made it up and down safely.

This is a different type of site than we are used it. It's basically a VERY steep driveway down behind a bunch of houses and into a gravel lot with trailers and vehicles parked throughout. Can fit multiple rigs, but it's tight, especially getting in and out. We were able to drive both up and down the driveway with our 25' Sprinter-based RV and towing a Jeep Wrangler 2 door. Easier to unhook/hook up on the street, but doable at the bottom if not fully booked.
Security cameras are located throughout. Neighborhood seems good. There's a walking trail just on the other side of the fence (not sure how to access it, though).
This location was a last-minute choice as we decided while driving past LA to camp and explore. Our host, Richard, got back to our booking request quickly, which allowed us to start heading over right away.
We explored most of Central LA and east while there. We then booked Dockweiler's RV Park on the other side of LA so we could explore that side of the city. I think splitting it up like that, if you have the time, is the best way to explore all of LA.
We would stay again if we need a spot on the east side of LA.

Its al small RV camp and not easy to find. To enter the place you have to enter a narrow road which is very steep. But there is water and electricity and the price is nice. Going to LA with a Uber is not to expensive. But if you want a easy campsite with a full hookup then you have to look elsewhere and pay a lot more.

We had a wonderful stay! The host was very responsive and easy to get in touch with, which made the experience smooth and stress-free. He even came by to personally greet us on our first night, which was a thoughtful touch. The location was not too far from downtown LA and was perfect for our RV stay. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

Richard is an excellent host. The directions he provided were very clear and led us to our spot. There is a hill to go down as others described but wasn’t an issue for us. Richard supplied us with electric and water- which was much appreciated. There is laundry available (at no additional cost) and access to the CLEAN porta potty. The neighborhood is very nice and we felt secure with the additional security cameras in the property. Richard communicated with us throughout or stay and made us feel welcomed and well cared for ! Thank you Richard- would recommend to others planning to visit the area.

We had a great time during our two-night stay here. Even though it’s a private backyard campsite attached to someone’s home, everything exceeded our expectations. It had all the essentials - full hookups, affordable pricing, and a rare perk: campfires are allowed, which is hard to find near downtown LA or in the city. It’s definitely a great value for the price. We really enjoyed our time, and the host was super helpful too! :)

My mom and I really enjoyed our stay at Richard’s. Besides having everything an actual campsite would have, there were some other great amenities. Definitely worth staying here and would stay here again.

A new RV owner or a rig with low clearance may find the location a challenge. The lot is accessed from an alley in between two houses. The driveway is steep and has bumps could be a clearance problem for some. The lots primarily used for storage of aged vehicles and RV’s. I found the electrical cords and hoses under the leaves. The spots are not numbered. I have a 17’ rv, difficult to back out, a kind man backed out for me making the hairpin for me turn to drive out. The owner was not on site, although he did call to check on me.

I used this space as a safe place to spend the night before a morning event in downtown LA. The description and comments gave me a good idea of what to expect, which was fine for me given my willingness to sleep in my vehicle and my prioritizing price. I had trouble accessing a couple of the amenities, but the host was responsive to get me the right wifi password.

Host was very quick to respond to my questions, kind, and accommodating. We just needed a nearby last minute place to park our campervan while visiting friends in town. Host responded quickly and we were glad to have that peace of mind!
We have a Ram Promaster 2500 high roof van (156" wheelbase) and fit fine down the driveway. It is a little tight and steep so make sure you are comfortable with your driving capabilities and are within the recommended size range for camping at this site. They are doing some construction to improve the site so there are some construction vehicles there, but nothing in our way. There were other campers when we stayed and everyone was quiet, kind, and respectful. There are also a lot of RVs being stored at the site. We didn't have a problem with this, just needed a good spot to sleep.
It is an urban area so there is a little road noise, occasional dog barking, etc but nothing too disruptive, we slept fine in our van. There are nearby street lights on all night so make sure you have curtains or window covers.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, just needed somewhere to park last minute for 2 nights and Richard was responsive and accommodating! Great price for the location and having amenities like a bathroom, water, etc.

More of a storage facility for old, abandoned vehicles than a campsite. The price is cheap, but the amount of trash, lights at night, and weird vibes mean I won’t stay here again. If the place was cleaned up and some sort of privacy fence put in, it could be nice. It felt more like a homeless encampment as of February 2025.

Reasonably priced and Truly close to Los Angeles! Site had everything I needed to feel safe and comfortable for the evening. Yes, you do need to go down a hill, but it’s paved and unless there’s an ice storm, it’s navigable.
I believe there’s a walking trail beside the location, but separated by fence and privacy screen. I enjoyed my morning coffee under a beautiful pine 😍. I would definitely stay again!!
