Wooded Escape in Cook Forest
Coulda been cool
The property has the potential to be an AMAZING camping destination. Unfortunately it has been used as a dump once or twice, upon arrival we walked around and cleaned up broken glass, plastic and other trash and debris so much we nearly filled up a large trash bag. Not what we expected when we paid 40 bucks to stay there. The ground was soft when we arrived and not being from the area did not realize how much it had been raining that week, I followed the trail down and realized pretty quick that we were not gonna be able to get out of there. We couldn’t get ahold of Natalie, which I understand people have lives outside of this, and I don’t expect anyone to be on call for me ever but when she finds out that we went down the trail all communication ended until idk ten or so that night when she says there’s nothing she can do about it. Tow truck came the next morning and costed over 500 dollars to get us out. I have heard nothing back from them. Look I drove in the woods so whatever it’s my fault, but the fact that you didn’t give a fuccccc that somebody was stuck back there is what’s gross. You didn’t even check up until late night. HONESTLY I hope y’all can get your shit together because it’s a beautiful place and I hope more people get to experience the magic it has to offer, but for now y’all suck and you need to clean your place up, gross.

Beautiful fall scenery
Nice secluded area and clean site. There is a nice sized fire ring, and there was a cooking rack that could be placed over the fire ring. Overall, beautiful and easy to deal with host. I would recommend printing or saving the directions to the site. Cell reception is spotty at best. There is a gentle slope through the site, so mind where you place your tent. Lots of wildlife for us. Turkey’s, deer, squirrels and even a bear roamed through our site. Mind where/how you store your food.

Such a perfect camp site for our weekend! The space was large and clear with plenty of tent spots, and even good trees for our hammocks. The work they’ve put into clearing and maintaining the land is evident throughout. The river was close by with a bit of a hike down the ravine but that made it more worth it to jump in! We loved our weekend here so much, thank you!!

Beautiful campsite, very quiet and secluded but not far from excellent hiking and kayaking/canoeing on Clarion river. Some trash and especially several broken glass shards around the site. Disrespectful camping behavior aside, the site would benefit from a thorough inspection/cleaning especially after larger groups. Overall a beautiful site to camp.
