The Campsite at Dragonfly is located on a secluded and private 20 acres in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. The campsite is a 1000 ft hike from the parking area. The campsite includes a fire ring and firewood and a nearby chemical toilet. There are various water sport activities like fishing, kayaking, or paddle boating and plenty of hiking trails to explore the great outdoors! This is a nature lovers paradise... enjoy watching ducks, geese, blue heron, egrets, hawks, varieties of turtles, largemouth bass, catfish, bluegill, deer and many more animals. Please note that this hike is up and down a decent grade, so please plan accordingly and take this in consideration if any one in your party has physical limitations. During your stay you are welcome to enjoy the lake, we have kayaks, pedal boat, jon boat and stand up paddle boards located at the floating dock on the dam. You are welcome to use them all, weather permitting, just please return them to their proper place and in the same condition you found them in. The lake is deep so please make sure to keep any non-swimmers safe with the use of flotation devices. If you plan to fish you are welcome to bring your own fishing gear. The lake is stocked with bluegill, large-mouth bass, and catfish but it is nature so you may find other species that we don’t know about! We also provide firewood so you don't have to worry about packing it!!! Other things you will probably want to pack for your stay include: Sturdy shoes for walking to your camp site and exploring the trails. Please ask to see what is available/restricted during your stay. Flashlights/Headlamps for navigating outside after dark Bug spray Jacket/long pants (it can get chilly in the evenings in the spring and fall) Frequent questions and answers: *Can you drive up and park by the campsite - No, The camp site is a short 1000 ft hike from the parking area *How do you get your things to the camp site - Pack light... there is a hand cart to transport things up and down the hill. *Will there be other people on the property... there are two cabins on the other side of the lake... we have made every effort in layout and design of the property to maximize seclusion and privacy and the vast majority of our guest appreciate and are respectful of it. *Are there shared common areas and things - The lake is private and shared by the guest of the cabins... boats and life jackets are shared and are to be returned to the main dock area at the dam. *Can we swim in the lake - We have made no accommodations for swimming... it is a muddy bottom lake... Many people have swam in it... like all outdoor activities, they are at your own risk and should have adult supervision when appropriate. *Is there phone service.... service is spotty. *Is there a bathroom... there is a chemical toilet just a short walk from the campsite *Are there weeds and plant life in the lake - Yes, it is a natural body of water not a treated urban drainage ditch... we have at times had issues with vegetation and algae but we have made great strides to keep the lake clear and as natural as we can. *Can I bring a generator... no... we like to maintain the sound of nature for our guest. **Please check out our area tourism website for activities and area information** discover monroe county .org Check out our 5 star lodging reviews online for "The Nest Lodging and Rentals" located near Woodsfield, Ohio. The Campsite at Dragonfly is located on a secluded and private 20 acres in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. The Campsite at Drangonfly Lake
One of my faves!
This was my second time staying here within 4-5 months. It’s an all around gorgeous place. The lake is dreamy! Park and hike in a short bit, passing a very intimate setting by said dreamy lake, cross a small bridge and then up to a great camping space! For me, I love it because the site accommodates hammocks, which is not a necessity, but I’d much rather sling my hammock than pitch a tent. Trust me, there’s plenty of space for that too! My only wish - and mind you they are up front about guests transporting fire wood for themselves - would be to have fire wood taken to the campsite, even if for an extra fee. After the bridge is a fairly steep hill you must climb to get to the campsite, and pulling a wagon up it is not an easy task. I made it, by myself, but it was a struggle. That’s literally the only downside, and I don’t mind it because of the peace I find there. Book your stay!

The Campsite at Drangonfly Lake
We loved tent camping at Casey’s camp! It was secluded and shaded. It is a steep walk to get to the site, so pack less rather than more! Casey provides a gorilla cart to carry your gear down to the site, firewood, and she takes care of your personal trash. The surrounding towns are picturesque country land and Piatt Park is a short drive and great place to explore.

Beautiful site!
My husband and I loved camping at dragonfly lake! We were looking for a quiet secluded spot to immerse ourselves in nature. Casey’s land provided exactly that! Casey was an excellent host helping us get our gear back and forth from the site. He was a lifesaver! The ground had trails a beautiful lake for fishing or paddle boating. I was perfect! I can’t wait to visit again!
