Nestled in a canopy of redwoods, less than 10 miles from the beach sits a private and cozy campground. Fern Ridge Flats combines the best of Santa Cruz county. Abundant trees and misty mornings await you at our property in Aptos. Equipped with electricity, water, and a picnic table for your convenience. There are trails on the land for you to explore, animals, and nature to dive into. *************** Smoking and the use of drugs are strictly prohibited. This is a safe and quiet neighborhood with many families including my own. Please do not request to book if you have the intention of partying or using illegal substances. If these rules are violated, local authorities will be called and you will be removed from the campsite. *************** The campsite is less than a 5 minute walk from the parking spot but is relatively steep. Although it is paved it is not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. *************** As an added precaution to protect the lush landscape, the firepit at the campsite utilizes clean burning propane. We chose a burner that closely replicates the size and heat of a wood to enhance our campers' experience.Nestled in a canopy of redwoods, and only 5 miles from the beach and the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park sits a private and cozy campground. Fern Ridge Flats combines the best of Santa Cruz county. Abundant trees and misty mornings await you at our property in Aptos. Equipped with electricity, water, and a picnic table for your convenience. There are trails on the land for you to explore, animals and nature to experience. While staying at the secluded Fern Ridge Flats, It’s easy to forget that only a 10 minute drive gets you to downtown Aptos with trendy new restaurants and coffee shops to enjoy. Get away from it all and reconnect with nature at Fern Ridge Flats.

Fern Ridge Flats - Private Camping
A great escape for a couple of nights from the bustle of the city! Perfect space for one 3 person tent and room to walk around the rest of the site. You can tell the site is a bit more worn than the photos show, but still gives you all the outdoorsy vibes with some amenities, like the portable toilet (a first for us!) and propane fire pit. The table is the most worn thing at the site, but still usable.

My husband and I had a great time at Fern Ridge Flats! The campsite was gorgeous and Matt was a great host! Very responsive and accommodating.

Such a nice site, the lights really made the site perfect, just a short walk to a field of flowers and to a little hidden bench! We used our bird app and there were 22 different kinds of birds, so if you’re into bird watching this is a good place!! :)

This beautiful campsite provided us an amazing stay. While being a little chilly in the night we were able to stay warm with the propane fire pit. Very private area to spend the weekend. Shared (involuntarily) some bread with the cute little fox, no bothers other than him!
