Weekend Trip to Organic Welltree
We had a fantastic stay at Organic Welltree in the Bramble yurt. Lovely people, lovely setting and very nice accommodation. If you’re looking for a weekend escape this is a great, affordable option. We’ll definitely visit again.

I loved my 4 night break in the Bramble Yurt. The yurt was clean and cosy. I did have the stove burner on due to the weather being so good. The bathroom shed was clean and fresh. The fridge was a god send considering the temperature reach a high of 27 degrees. I had a relaxing time sitting in the fresh air watching the wild life and the world go by. I would highly recommend Organic Welltree. I shall definitely go back. I wish to thanks them for my time at Kirkland.

Woodland glamping in St. Cyrus National Nature Reserve guide
When to go
The reserve is open to visitors all year-round and offers a different experience from one season to the next. Spring heralds the arrival of breeding birds and you can also see fulmars and peregrine falcons nesting on the cliffs. In summer, the landscape is awash with brightly colored wildflowers and birdlife includes meadow pipit and skylark and you might see dolphins, porpoises and migrating whales offshore. Fall brings migratory geese and a bounty of fungi, while waders, ducks, geese and swans arrive in winter.
Know before you go
- The reserve’s Visitor Centre has information about the reserve’s history and sightings. It’s open daily from April through October and from Monday through Friday from November to March.
- Dogs are welcome but must be kept under close control, until you reach the beach, especially during the bird breeding season from April through August.
- While you can reach the reserve by public bus, having your own transport is quicker and more convenient.
