The view you wake up to is breathtaking! The pods themselves are immaculate and stocked with everything you need. You have your own private bathroom which is heated and again immaculately clean. Lovely and quiet!

Cairngorm Glamping 🩷. This is a beautiful place to stay, with friendly, chilled hosts. Tucked in among the hills of Upper Donside, the view towards the Lecht is lovely … morning or evening. The surrounding countryside is magical. The site has several fields set up for tents / vans / Motorhomes, with or without services.
The animal park is very sweet, with goats who seem to spend all day teasing each other and an adorable donkey who wants to talk to everyone 🥰 … the zip-line park was popular with kids of all ages and there’s a food bothy if you don’t feel like cooking.
Shower and toilet facilities are clean and well located. They never seemed to be “busy” even though we were there before and during Lonach Gathering weekend.
Grey and waste water services are well placed for Motorhome access.
As a Scot who lives overseas, I love that places like Cairngorm Glamping exist. They showcase the scenery and provide camping access to areas of countryside that might otherwise be missed by visitors.
Just wish we’d had time to stay longer … but will return! 🥰🩷🙏

Absolutely stunning location - you worry when you arrive as it’s a really popular tourist attraction but the car park empties out and it’s very peaceful. Nice walk along the loch side or a boat ride on the loch plus good cafe

Beautiful views up the Loch. Quite a steep climb but easily achievable. Fire pit, bbq and seating area ideal. Even the compostable toilet had a great view!

It would take less time to write what didnt stand out.
This is the best, most well kept Campsite we have been to. The fields are really well kept with the most beautiful surroundings. Good Big pitching spaces. Facilities kept clean and always stocked. The Little Critter is a bloody brilliant idea, you can buy feed and go into the first pen and feed the goats, llama and alpaca. There is also a donkey, ponies and a horse, and some chickens.
The owners have 4 amazingly friendly dogs. So beautiful and love attntion. 2 of them stay in their garden an want you to throw the ball. Theres a wee shop if you need summit last minute.
The washing stations for dishes and the showers etc all have hot - YES - HOT water. There is a massice connect 4 game, swing sets, quiditch poles, a flying fox, an inground trampoline, a sandpit with toys, bikes and go karts all available for the kids and older kids etc. picnic tables.
They also provide off the ground fire pits, (there is no time that you have to put it out or get to bed, just be respectful) If you need wood you can take it and pay the next day.
Hot rolls and coffee are available in the morning to buy.
Robert and his wife and team are all absolutely lovely and nothing is too much. Robert even helped to move my sisters car off a ledge when she missed some signs saying to not turn 🫣😁.
The best part as if all of the above was not enough.... NAE MIDGES ❤️ Thank you so so much for an amazing wee break away.

The pods were clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Unfortunately the fly screen for our door was broken so it was a choice of being gnawed on by midges or being very hot- we chose the heat which was a bit uncomfortable but a fan had been provided which helped. The views were incredible of the loch and mountains and the walking and cycling just stunning. It's a little public with it being next to the main path but if you aren't looking for seclusion then it's fine and we found it vibrant and interesting watching the boats and people coming and going. The food in the cafe was excellent and we enjoyed the take away option, it does close fairly early so best to get there before 5:15pm. All in all it was a beautiful spot and very good accommodation and we had a brilliant time.

Lovely campsite, great for the kids, my own kids made friends playing on the zipline, loved saying hello to the animals and the bikes they could play on was a nice touch, facilities where nice and we overall had a great time.

Everyone here was super kind and funny. The campsite was in a beautiful area with a gorgeous view and beautiful farm animals surrounding the pitches. Would really recommend and definitely going back.

Runach Arainn is even more lovely in person than in the photos. Great location for a peaceful and relaxing stay on Arann. The yurts are comfortable, the kitchen/fire-pit etc are well-equipped and the orchard setting is beautiful. It's just a short walk to the beach or to the Lagg Inn for dinner. Highly recommend.

Alles war wunderbar!
Wir waren total überrascht, wie schön es dort war. Besonders wie kinderfreundlich es dort ist.
Ein riesiger, wunderschöner Ort in den Highlands mit lovely handsome critters :), unendlich wunderbaren Spielmöglichkeiten, netten Nachbarn und sauberen Sanitäranlagen.
Genau das richtige nach einer langen Fahrt mit Kindern.

Where to go
Around Town
Staying within the town puts you within easy reach of Loch Leven, as well as several golf courses and facilities such as shops and restaurants. Just north of the town centre, Gallowhill Caravan and Camping Park has grassy pitches for tents and campers with views of the surrounding hills.
Falkland
If Lochleven Castle piques your interest, you can further explore the life of Mary, Queen of Scots at the 16th-century Falkland Palace, one of her favourite retreats. The town of Falkland is also a draw for walkers, who can head into the nearby Lomond Hills Regional Park. On the edge of the park, family-run Pillars of Hercules Organic Farm has basic pitches for tents and small campers.
Dunning
A 25-minute drive north of Kinross, the small village of Dunning has a long and rich history with Pictish and Jacobite connections. The village is also surrounded by hills and glens to be explored. Just south of the village, the small working Greenhill Farm is home to cows, sheep, chickens and peacocks and offers a glamping experience in shepherds’ huts.
When to go
Summer is the most popular time to visit the area, but the peak season can bring crowds and booked-up campsites. If planning to visit in the summer, try to avoid travelling during the school holidays in July and August. The best time to visit Loch Leven Nature Reserve is in the autumn when around 20,000 pink-footed geese arrive. Note that the ferry to Lochleven Castle only operates from April to September.
Know before you go
- Wild camping is legal in Scotland as long as you follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
- The closest train station to Kinross is in Dunfermline, 13 miles (21 kilometres) south. Local buses can get you to most nearby places of interest.
- Kinross has several supermarkets where you can buy the essentials. For outdoor and camping gear, try the bigger shops of Dunfermline.
