Simple pleasures: a bed, a fire and a drink. The campsite allows fires (off ground), and fire bowls can be hired for just £5.00 - but you’ll need to bring your own firewood.

Canalside Camping is a site that’s true to its name. An open and flat green field, banking a section of the Trent and Mersey Canal. The site has an excellent farm shop and cafe adjacent to it, and is surrounded by historic bridges, waterways and a National Tru

You don’t need to work up a thirst to reach the The Clifford Arms - it’s only 10 mins walk along the canal. A friendly village pub serving a good range of beers and food.

What an idyllic spot to sit and watch the world float by?

A peaceful and idyllic flat field location by the canal, shared with a gaggle of geese and swans.

Motorhomes and camper vans are welcome (no caravans though). 

The campsite supplies fresh water to campers. There is a site over the bridge for motorhome users to empty black waste.

Historic Shugborough Hall is about 10mins walk from the campsite and visitors can explore the hall, a museum,  Victorian kitchen garden, model farm and cafe. 

Historic Essex Bridge is only a few minutes walk from the campsite. One of the largest surviving packhorse bridges in the country, it stands over the River Trent and is en route to nearby Shugborough Hall.
