The downstairs also houses a smart TV, and a Blu-ray/DVD player with assorted movies. High speed internet access is also available. Cell service may be spotty, Xfinity Mobile, utilizing Verizon towers, typically provides us with 2 bars, sufficient for basic online tasks such as checking emails and social media. We provide sheets and towels for your convenience. The cabin boasts a fully equipped kitchen and a clothes washer (no dryer), with a clothesline available for drying. Enjoy outdoor cooking using the grill on the deck, or over the fire pit. There is also a propane fire pit on the deck and a second wood fire pit by the river. Our cabin is our cherished retreat, which we occasionally open up to guests. As it is not operated as a for-profit rental, we kindly ask that you treat our slice of heaven with the same care and respect as we do. It was a pleasure staying at Brookhollow! The site was very private, and the sound of the running water with river view was so relaxing. Everything was well equipped. The stairs from the parking spot down to the river's edge campsite were a bit of a work out, but very manageable. It also gave a nice separation of privacy from the main property to the campsite. Highly recommended! Would absolutely come back!

Insane location. I slept between a brook and a stream. Or maybe a creek and a brook. Hard to say. Would be great for a family looking to introduce kids to camping. Best for light campers.

We had the most wonderful weekend getaway here. It was extra special for us, because we have a reactive dog who can't join us at public campsites, or shared sites. This was his first time camping and it was perfect. The site was secluded and gorgeous. There was just enough room to explore, and other hiking only a short drive away. Our hosts were so kind and helpful, and we are excited to plan another stay here in the warm summer months!

A lovely little spot that felt like our own perfect woodland and river to explore and relax in. The sounds of the water flowing all around are so magical! We enjoyed taking in all the flora and fauna, looking for critters in and out of the river (several different caterpillars, snails, spiders, butterflies, fish, crawdads and frogs that we could find!) sitting around the fire, checking out cool rocks and walking around the property. The campsite was clean and well taken care of though not entirely private with some campers/residents staying on the other side of the river and some reasonable noise from them. That being said, it still felt like it was mostly just us around. One of the nicest outhouse experiences I have had also! Barb was exceptionally helpful and made us feel very welcome there without intruding at all. Be prepared for the stairs and/or a small hike to get your gear in/out!!

Beautiful property and a beautiful spot to pitch a tent and hammock and relax. The river was high after a hard rain the night prior but after a couple of days it went down enough to take a dip and cool off! Saw a few kayakers and canoers meandering down the river while we cooked over the fire. Our dogs loved being able to dip in the river too :) the treck down to the campsite will put you to the test if you don’t pack light, but completely worth the effort! we hope to come back again someday

Heavily wooded forest with pine, maple, oak and birch. Undeveloped and quiet. The property is home to numerous bird species, deer, wild turkeys and squirrels. Occasional howls from distant coyotes and infrequent raccoons. The campsites are located on a hill dominated by tall pines overlooking the east facing property. Secluded, but only a 700 feet from the main residence. Only 1 1/2 miles P.J Hoffmaster's State Park and a 10 minutes ride to Grand Haven State Park/Lake Michigan. Campsites are rustic but we provide camp toilets, a picnic table and a waste container. Fresh water is available at the barn. We also provide a shelter with picnic tables and a charcoal park grille. A large community fire pit is available with wood provided for a small cost by the hosts. When arriving please drive to the end of the driveway towards the last house. The Flipside Acres sign will be on your right side. Drive down the gravel entrance and park where indicated by the red barn. All sites are a short walk from the parking area (500ft) and carts are provided for your use. If needed, we can also provide transportation using our UTV. Tent sites are not accessible by car.
