The garden is fully enclosed with a gravel and lawned area, table & seating, large firepit/BBQ and a parasol for those sunnier days! The fire pit is set up with racks, pans and all the equipment needed to cook with! The large hot tub with lights and jets is just to the side of the seating area. The hot tub is fully undercover, making it safe to use in all weathers! There is also enough space for undercover seating. There is a manual provided in the hut which features local attractions and there is a private landscaped parking area located just at the back of the hut. There is lots to do nearby and something for every and those a little further afield, local supermarkets, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The site is also located on the Leicestershire Round walking route with at least 5 off road walks commencing within 400 yards of the site. Check in information, along with directions to the site are messaged 48 hours prior to arrival. Guest access Secure off road parking, waste bin, outdoor tap and hose, recycling bins, enclosed garden, hot tub and seating area, large fire pit and shepherds hut with en-suite. Other things to note Tip- it can get quite dark at night, therefore it is advisable to bring a torch. A full set of towels is provided, including a hot tub towel. Perhaps take a stroll to Stanley Ghyll waterfall. They have a cafe at both terminuses with a museum in Ravenglass where nearby you can sample Ravenglass Ice Cream. Wasdale and Ennerdale are close by both valleys having cafes and pubs.

The Peacock Shepherds Hut was amazing. The views are incredible and the hut was really comfortable and well thought out from the lovely Peacock details to underfloor heating. The facilities provided everything I needed to enjoy a peaceful break. Fantastic place to relax and reset listening to birds and enjoying the roaming peacocks and wandering down to see the Alpacas. Weekend Trip to Abberton Shepherds Hut

This was a fabulous shepherds hut with every need catered for. The craftsmanship is beautiful and all the equipment and amenities were first class. Beautifully decorated and all the local and interesting information was carefully provided in an easy to access folder. The location is absolutely stunning with lots of outdoor equipment such as seating and bbq and a pizza oven to enjoy in the hot weather. The view is stunning and the surrounding countryside has great walks and places of interest. We will hopefully return.

We had a lovely stay at Little Ranch. Rod made us feel so welcome and our daughter loved exploring the farm and meeting the animals. The hut is beautifully designed being both spacious and and cosy, with everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. The little extras on arrival really made it special. We enjoyed some nice walks along the canal, evenings toasting marshmallows by the fire and just really appreciated the peaceful location. We highly recommend Little Ranch and hope to be back again soon!

Where to go

Cheshire Ring

The Cheshire Ring of six interconnecting canals, all navigable by narrowboat, prove this part of Northwest England is not all big, built-up areas. Skirting the southern edge of Warrington (and linking up with big cities like Manchester and Macclesfield), it features lots of lovely countryside in between. Campers can boat the 97-mile route (allow a week) or walk and cycle along the towpath.

Marbury Country Park & Around

Gradually reclaiming former industrial land in a woodsy green between Marbury and Northwich are the Northwich Community Woodlands, at the heart of which is the former country estate of Marbury Country Park. Walking and cycling trails here retain a genteel feel, as two long-distance footpaths, the Cheshire Ring Canal Walk and the North Cheshire Way, pass through. Pitch at a family-run campsite nearby for an intimate experience with amenities like toilets and caravan hookups.

Delamere Forest

Cheshire’s largest woodland, 2,400 acres in extent, lies southwest across the River Mersey, 14 miles from Warrington. It’s among the most popular green escapes within easy reach of Merseyside’s urban sprawl. Three long-distance paths traverse this former hunting ground, including the Sandstone Way, tracing Cheshire’s and Shropshire’s undulating sandstone ridges. Cycling, horse-riding, and one of Britain’s biggest treetop rope courses also await.

When to go

July and August (the school holiday season) is when the countryside around Warrington gets busiest with campers—but March, April and May boast the lowest rainfall. Neighbourhood Weekender, a music festival held in May, is one of the most famous events in Warrington. May is also a good month to visit nearby Manchester for the Manchester Jazz Festival, and Delamere Forest also hosts its own regular music events.
