A small family and pet friendly glamping and camping site that offers you a memorable holiday in Mérignac in the Charente-Maritime region of France.Merignac is only 10 minutes from the N10 highway, a peaceful village making an ideal holiday destination or just a 1 night stop over if heading south or north. Situated approximately 1 hour north of Bordeaux Airport and 1 hour from the west coast resort of Royan. The village is one of the communes in the ”Haute Saintonge”, a former historical province that has many old churches and examples of Roman art. It is a land of plains and hillsides rich in agriculture, viticulture with windmills to be seen in many areas, in one of the sunniest regions of south west France. Bellevues Glamping is a stunning site of an acre, with breathtaking views across the valley, typically surrounded by grapevines and sunflower crops. There is a 10 metre x 5 metre in-ground swimming pool for the whole family to enjoy a swim, ideal to cool off on those hot days. Plenty of grass for the children to run around and enjoy games. Beautiful views from pitches of grapevines and rolling countryside. After dark, gaze at the starry skies and catch a glimpse of shooting stars.It is a magical spot that Richard and Linda fell in love with in 2021, having relocated to France in 2020. The campsite re-opened in May 2023, welcoming guests who have all expressed how wonderful the site is and that they will return. We are a small Family owned, 10 pitch campsite in a rural village. The setting is quiet and tranquil with mature trees and abundant wildlife. There is a clean recently refurbished toilet block with washing up facilities and chemical toilet waste disposal.
We cater for tents, caravans and motorhomes, each pitch is large enough for a caravan with awning and room to park one car, all pitches have 10 amp electricity available.
Work is currently underway to open a swimming pool, and communal building.
There are many places of interest to visit in the area and we have a growing number of establishments nearby if you wish to eat out.

Great, relaxed campsite and made very welcome by the owners. Plenty of shaded pitches or others with bigger views. The safari tents were also great for us. Food at the bar and live music once a week. Clean facilities and 5 minutes from Brantome.

The campsite owners Chris and Jen are amazing, they go out of their way to help people and make sure they have a great stay. They are a hardworking couple and made the campsite and gites beautiful with excellent and very clean facilities. The swimming pool is great with shaded options,the atmosphere is very relaxed.Jen and Chris are always at hand if anything is needed from quiche to coffee to croissants or ice cream, which is amazing,just ring the bell! Everything you could wish for is thought of, ie cards on a table if you want to play cards under cover with a view if it rains ( it never long does if it does), fishing rods if you wish to fish in their lake, matches if you wish to make a cuppa in their barn kitchen even washing up liquid and clean brushes are there and a washing machine. We’ve had a very comfortable stay and our car broke down whilst here so Chris drove us all the way to the airport in Limoges to pick up our daughter and stopped at a supermarket on the way back so we could get some food as there’s little to no public transport here, and taxis are extortionately priced. You do hear the road from time to time but that’s nothing, compared to the sheer hospitality on offer, there’s a beautiful and peaceful forest and lake and the tipi and lotus bell tent are beautiful, there’s even a little glamping kitchen in the woods! Thanks J&C, for looking after us so well we had a super comfortable stay and for helping us out big time, during a tricky time for us!

What an absolute gem of a campsite! After being packed in like sardines at a previous site on this trip, this site was such a welcome change. Linda and Richard are fabulous hosts, and made us feel welcome from the start. Their lovely little pup Margot is also very friendly and super cute! The site is rural, surrounded by beautiful countryside. There was only one other van staying when we were there, but even if they had been full, it is spacious enough for everyone to have more than enough room and privacy. There's a washing machine that is 5 euros a load, a sink for dishwashing, a toilet and a shower - all really well kept and clean. There's also a lovely swimming pool , which was very welcome to cool off in on a very hot day. Richard also went the extra mile & went out to rescue my partner in his car, when he got lost on a "quick" cycle to the local boulangerie. 100% recommend & would love to visit again.,

Welcoming hosts. A lovely setting with all the amenities you need. Tranquil natural setting. The pool was fab. Clean and well maintained facilities. Surrounding area very pretty and super quiet rides great for cycling. Highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

The site is lovely. Some pitches under trees. Some in the open on grass with wildflowers in with a fine view across the rolling countryside. Clean facilities and the hosts are very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be returning.
