Come and enjoy camping in the countryside in the Creuse. Our campsite offers four glamping tents, one off grid tent and three places where you can camp with your own caravan, camper or tent. The grounds are 14 acres, largely consisting of field, wildflowers, fruit trees and vegetable garden. We have created walking paths all over the site and beautiful seating areas where you can enjoy the view. A lovely swimming pond, playing field and play barn provide entertainment for the whole family. For example, there is a football field, badminton field and table tennis. For the smaller children there is a swing and various push bikes. We organize cozy bbq and campfire evenings. There are sheep (behind the fence), chickens, two dogs and two cats on the property and of course a variety of wildlife.

We are an Adults Only campsite set in more than eight hectares of gorgeous, out-of-the-way Charente countryside five minutes’ drive from the sleepy village of Saulgond. In fact it’s so peaceful here that you’ll probably never want to leave. The rippling waterfall and lush green land offers the peace and rest that we crave. Walk around the lake and follow all the woodland trails about the place. Biking trails are for exploring (walking maps are available ), as well as legions of historic towns waiting to be explored, or you can simply relax and chill around the pool area. All your catering needs are sorted, what with the on-site restaurant offering tip-top homemade food and weekly pizza nights. Going down the self-catering route? Weekend Trip to Fonclaire Holidays

The campsite owners Chris and Jen are amazing, they go out of their way to help people and make sure they have a great stay. They are a hardworking couple and made the campsite and gites beautiful with excellent and very clean facilities. The swimming pool is great with shaded options,the atmosphere is very relaxed.Jen and Chris are always at hand if anything is needed from quiche to coffee to croissants or ice cream, which is amazing,just ring the bell! Everything you could wish for is thought of, ie cards on a table if you want to play cards under cover with a view if it rains ( it never long does if it does), fishing rods if you wish to fish in their lake, matches if you wish to make a cuppa in their barn kitchen even washing up liquid and clean brushes are there and a washing machine. We’ve had a very comfortable stay and our car broke down whilst here so Chris drove us all the way to the airport in Limoges to pick up our daughter and stopped at a supermarket on the way back so we could get some food as there’s little to no public transport here, and taxis are extortionately priced. You do hear the road from time to time but that’s nothing, compared to the sheer hospitality on offer, there’s a beautiful and peaceful forest and lake and the tipi and lotus bell tent are beautiful, there’s even a little glamping kitchen in the woods! Thanks J&C, for looking after us so well we had a super comfortable stay and for helping us out big time, during a tricky time for us!

This rural region offers a blend of farmland, woodland, lakes and rivers with plenty of camping and glamping sites tucked among them. With the Loire Valley to the north and the Dordogne to the south west, it’s all too easy to overlook Limousin but it’s a fantastic place to base yourself – away from the crowds, in one of the least densely populated parts of the country. During a stay here you can easily visit the famous sites of neighbouring regions or discover Limousin’s own lesser-known treasures. Among them you’ll find turreted châteaux, fortified towns, pretty villages and protected natural parks, not to mention some of our favourite French campsites.
