A small family and pet friendly glamping and camping site that offers you a memorable holiday in Mérignac in the Charente-Maritime region of France.Merignac is only 10 minutes from the N10 highway, a peaceful village making an ideal holiday destination or just a 1 night stop over if heading south or north. Situated approximately 1 hour north of Bordeaux Airport and 1 hour from the west coast resort of Royan. The village is one of the communes in the ”Haute Saintonge”, a former historical province that has many old churches and examples of Roman art. It is a land of plains and hillsides rich in agriculture, viticulture with windmills to be seen in many areas, in one of the sunniest regions of south west France. Bellevues Glamping is a stunning site of an acre, with breathtaking views across the valley, typically surrounded by grapevines and sunflower crops. There is a 10 metre x 5 metre in-ground swimming pool for the whole family to enjoy a swim, ideal to cool off on those hot days. Plenty of grass for the children to run around and enjoy games. Beautiful views from pitches of grapevines and rolling countryside. After dark, gaze at the starry skies and catch a glimpse of shooting stars.It is a magical spot that Richard and Linda fell in love with in 2021, having relocated to France in 2020. The campsite re-opened in May 2023, welcoming guests who have all expressed how wonderful the site is and that they will return. It is such an idyllic place, book your visit with us, we look forward to welcoming you soon.

The camp is located on a large meadow, at the time fitted out for the exploitation of coal but which has never been used, linked to the end of the mining period. Come and enjoy camping in the countryside in the Creuse. Our campsite offers four glamping tents, one off grid tent and three places where you can camp with your own caravan, camper or tent. The grounds are 14 acres, largely consisting of field, wildflowers, fruit trees and vegetable garden. We have created walking paths all over the site and beautiful seating areas where you can enjoy the view. A lovely swimming pond, playing field and play barn provide entertainment for the whole family. For example, there is a football field, badminton field and table tennis. For the smaller children there is a swing and various push bikes. We organize cozy bbq and campfire evenings. There are sheep (behind the fence), chickens, two dogs and two cats on the property and of course a variety of wildlife.

Come and stay in your own private camp site! Your luxury 6 metre bell tent sits in its own secluded field with a lovely view onto a rolling meadow. The valley is home to a wide variety of birds and butterflies, and deer come to drink at the spring in the meadow. Night skies are free of pollution, perfect for stargazing. It is a very tranquil special place, ideal for those wanting to get away from it all and be immersed in nature, and where children can explore freely. There is an 11-metre swimming pool at our home for you to enjoy, again with lovely views!
Your comfortably furnished bell tent has a double and two or three single beds as required, made up with crisp linens and blankets for cooler nights. A cot is also available. Solar lighting and floor cushions create a cosy atmosphere, and there are board games for kids. A mosquito net runs all around the tent to allow for ventilation and to keep bugs out. Next to the tent is a charming outdoor kitchen, complete with bottle gas stove and utensils for cooking, and a wooden picnic table for dining. A barbeque and fridge are also available at the camping station, just three minutes’ walk down the lane. Here you will find your private bathroom, complete with towels and toiletries. There is also a sink for washing up with a lovely view over the meadow.
There are good walks from the campsite and really spectacular walking a bit further afield in the Averyon Gorge. Bike hire and horse riding are available nearby. In Laguepie, just 10 minutes drive, there is surveilled river swimming, and lively restaurants and bars for dining. Half an hour's drive away is the pretty town of St Antonin, with kayaking down the Averyron Gorge, as well as a fantastic Sunday market.
The area is rich in culture with the medieval town of Cordes-sur-Ciel just 10 minutes drive, and the city of Albi with its spectacular cathedral, a Unesco site, just 40 mins away. Albi is also home to the Toulouse Lautrec Museum, good restaurants and shopping.
The Gaillac vineyards are a short drive and offer wine tastings and evening concerts. Summer is the time for festivals here, and there is always some entertainment taking place in one of the nearby villages.
The bell tent is available June, July and August for a minimum of 2 nights.
