The Rhizosphere is tucked into the mature woods of the Pacific Northwest's crown jewel, the Olympic Peninsula. We steward our land with permaculture principles. The orchard is surrounded by maturing legacy forest of Fir, Cedar, Maple, Hemlock and Alder as well as two old growth Fir trees. Walk or bike right from our property to various outdoor activities including: The Olympic Adventure Trail, Rock climbing overlooking the Elwha River, Swimming in the Elwha River, Kelly Peak hike/bike, The Colville trails and more! Our site is less than 15 minutes drive to drive to various Olympic National Park trail heads. Please see the list of links at the bottom of the description for more info! Our land is kid friendly. We ask that kids (and adults) refrain from harming any trees or vegetation. We encourage aww of the natural environment! Our resident owl might even visit your camp fire! Our land is dog friendly. We ask that your dog remain on a leash and that you bag and trash your poo at all spots visited in the great wild olympics! Our property is not fenced and we are on a road corner. We have a 16' aluminum Canoe for rent with lifejackets and paddles. We love paddling on Lake Sutherland or Crescent Lake! Both of these spots are about a 20 minutes drive from our place (Canoe rental is $50/day) Here are some link to superb local attractions! Nestled into the North end of our orchard, its the perfect place for a tent and blanket next to the fire ring. There are benches and firewood available as well as our new composting toilet/bathroom near by. This site is about 150' from the gravel parking area (where you'll park).

Our is Car Camp in the Woods Site is gravel and easy to pull into at night. We steward our land with permaculture principles. The orchard is tucked into a forest of Fir, Maple, Hemlock and Alder as well as two old growth Fir trees. Our camp site consists of a 25'x20' gravel parking pad, a 14'x14' wood platform for your tent, complete with a fire ring and wood. We have a picnic table as well as benches for fire side chats. Our new composting toilet building is ready for your deposits! Walk or bike right from our property to various outdoor activities including: The Olympic Adventure Trail, Rock climbing overlooking the Elwha River, Swimming in the Elwha River, Kelly Peak hike/bike, The Collville trails and more! Our site is less than 15 minutes drive to drive to various Olympic National Park trail heads. Please see the list of links at the bottom of the description for more info! The Hipcamp parking access is the first left on Karpin Rd. Please see your confirmation message for instructions and gate access code. Our land is kid friendly. Car Camp in the Woods

After a few nights of camping in the rain Tyson’s Hipcamp was just the reprieve we were looking for! The property was easy to access, had plenty of amenities, and Tyson even had a fire going for us when we got there! Tyson was super helpful and easy to communicate with. We would absolutely stay here again!

Forest Camper

We had a great stay in the Forest Camper! Such a convenient location close to Port Angeles and National Park sights and activities. It was really nice to have a cozy space with a kitchen, toilet, and shower, to come back to. Tyson was very attentive and helpful even while being out of town!

Orchard Camp

We had a wonderful time camping at Tyson’s! The site has a communal kitchen, picnic table, and fire ring. Even with another party camping, it was easy to share the amenities without any issues. The kitchen is well equipped with a sink, a gas stove and a Blackstone, though you’ll want to bring your own pots and pans. We were pleasantly surprised by the shower—the hot water and water pressure were excellent. Everything was clean and well maintained, and there’s both potable and non-potable water available.

Forest Camper

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was very cozy and we appreciated having access to hot water, shower, toilet, and complete kitchen - pots/pans, plates, bowls, silverware, stovetop, fridge, toaster oven, and oils/seasonings. The Host, Tyson, was very welcoming and answered any questions we had. It was only about a 10 -15 minute drive to Port Angeles and entrance to the National Park which made it really convenient. This trip will always hold a special place in our hearts - we got engaged! Thanks for a great stay.

Car Camp in the Woods

Tyson was an excellent host and went out of his way to accommodate us. The property and site were in great condition, and the communal cooking area was enjoyable to use. The composting toilet setup was one of the nicest I’ve used. Overall I’d definitely recommend this site!

We had a fantastic experience here! When we arrived, we were greeted by Tyson and one of his kids, both of whom were so welcoming. The property had everything we needed for our stay, and everything was within such close proximity to our site. Highly recommend staying here!

Great camp in orchard

Orchard Camp

This was an amazing camp. Tyson has a perfect set up for camping. The camp kitchen was perfect, hot shower, and compost toliet. Tyson was super helpful and pointed us to a local spot to cool down since we were camping during a slight heat wave. There is a little road noise on occasion from neighbors driving home but not bothersome to us. Would definitely camp here again. Highly recommend.

Orchard Camp

Tyson and their family were welcoming, accommodating, and considerate. The camp site was ideal for our group, specifically the hot outdoor shower, composting toilet, and covered dining table. The host was responsive to all questions, and generous with their assistance. We would happily book again!
