Learn more about this land: Get close to nature on a 40 acre farm homesteaded in 1929 by Pauline and Earnest Weatherby, who raised their 2 children and 40 foster kids. Located 6 miles from the Canadian border, Mt. Vedder horse trail is 3 miles away, Nooksack Falls and Mt. Baker are 22 miles, and Silver Lake Park with swimming, fishing and boating is 7 miles away. A Nucanoe and 2 electric bikes are available, see details. Dog supplies, eggs, homemade jellies/jams/dried fruit and seasonal produce available to purchase. There's a big dog park, large undulating meadows, and lots of woods and wildlife. Tent and RV camping. WiFi and water available at the dog park. Chickens and ducks, a vegetable garden, flower gardens, and fruit trees on site. We can provide insight into small sustainable farming, fruit processing, and seasonal canning. Your hosts are Rich and Kathleen and our 5 labs and 2 cats. Richard is such an awesome host. Kind, friendly, and hands off but available if you need him which I appreciate! The campsite is beautiful and well maintained. Richard has great recs for local spots, hikes, etc. I’d 100% stay here again, it was my best Hipcamp experience so far!

We had a wonderful time staying at Richard’s campground. There’s plenty of space and it’s less than an hour of drive to scenic places around Mt. Baker so we enjoyed hiking there. I can definitely recommend this place

Lovely quiet spot. We camped here the last two nights and had a fantastic time. On the second night we shared the space with a large birthday party full of teenagers and still felt like our spot was very private. This morning we saw an owl right outside our tent. Richard and Kathleen are awesome people and their property is beautiful and well maintained. We will definitely camp here again!

I really enjoyed the peaceful large meadow to camp. Lots of grassy spots and the campsites were spaced apart nicely. Really special calm spot! I had my 9yr old great niece and mini Aussie. A good time was had by all!

This was a great spot, peaceful and quiet. The field is massive and all the sites are spread out. My pup loved meeting all of Rich's dogs and running around chasing a frisbee in the open space. Rich was a great host, and we loved chatting with him.

Loved the beautiful field! Lots of solitude and nature all around us. Clean bathroom and water hose available. Rich and his wife were helpfull with local intel. Easy access to hikes and amenities as needed. Love to go back soon!

Quiet, secluded, and clean, we slept well. Directions could be improved. It’s the gate on the right past the GPS coordinates if you’re traveling north.

Great spot to camp near the Washington/British Columbia border! Lots of space to roam and the restroom was spotless. I enjoyed interacting with Rich, his son, and meeting all the pets around the property :)

Although we only stayed for one night, we thoroughly enjoyed our time on Richard and Kathleen’s land. We came for stargazing and the views didn’t disappoint! Lots of space to enjoy nature, peacefully quiet at night, and the scenery is just lovely. The two of them (and their furry companions) are so kind and welcoming, offering tons of knowledge about the area. We will most definitely be back!

We ended up booking this site last minute after our original campsite was cancelled due to wildfire evacuations, and we’re glad we found it. The land was peaceful and easy to get to, with cell service and a well-maintained outhouse, which was appreciated. It was a great option in a pinch and we’d definitely come back again.

This is a magical spot, beautiful views, lots of options on site selections. We were lucky enough to get the whole place to ourselves for the first few nights. We arrived with no plans and Rich and Kathleen had fantastic insider tips, restaurant recommendations, and spectacular sights to see. Great hosts and a great property, enjoy!

Rich was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. We only had the chance to stay one night on his beautiful property, but I’m glad we had to chance to meet his dogs and see the sun set over his field. He had great recommendations for the area, and the property was well maintained! We’ll be back for future trips to check out more of what the north Cascades have to offer.

We loved staying at Evergrin Shire! Richard is incredibly kind and a great communicator! The space is vast, and while there were a few other campers around the meadow, it felt like we were there mostly to ourselves. We saw stars, heard owls at night and picked wild cherries. Lots of hiking and water activities nearby. It hardly gets better!

The campsite was clean and easily accessible. The hosts were accommodating and kind. The campsite was near beautiful recreational areas, had good cell service and was quiet and peaceful at night.

Cheers to Richard and Kathleen for creating the ideal HipCamp. Evergrin Shire is a perfect base camp for exploring the Mt. Baker area. The campsites are well maintained, spaced out appropriately, peaceful and provide gorgeous views. Richard and Kathleen are also the kindest hosts, checking in daily, offering suggestions to local favorites and bringing their sweet pups over to my site for some playtime with mine. I will absolutely be returning to Evergrin Shire.

First time using Hipcamp and it turned out to be a memorable trip. Property was beautiful. Large meadow bordered with a mowed path along the treeline. One group of campers other than me and it was as if they weren’t even there. Hosts were great, very friendly and inviting, along with informational. Really just good people that seem to think “isn’t this beautiful, isn’t this peaceful, come enjoy it with us” Got some homemade jam and some memorable moments on this trip and I’d definitely love to stay again. You may not want to talk as much as I did and prefer the peace, they will certainly give you that, but if you’re like me and need a good conversation, Richard sat with me for hours one day as we just enjoyed the beautiful day and talked about life, I needed it, that wonderful conversation alone will have me looking back on this trip with a smile for a very long time and make me happy to plan another one.

We highly recommend this peaceful gem. Rich and Kathleen are delightful hosts and their place is truly stunning. Rich generously shared his local knowledge of nearby places to explore. They were very tolerant and supportive of our reactive dog during the periodic rounds they make with their own well-behaved labs. Our site felt very secluded and had a view of the idyllic meadow and surrounding forest and hills. Our stay really couldn’t have been better.

Our stay was wonderful. The property is beautiful and Richard and Kathleen were very nice hosts. We are already looking at dates to go back. The sites were spacious and our two kids had plenty of room to explore. Richard also gave us some great options to go explore around the area.

My kids, dog, and I loved camping on the property! It was such a beautiful meadow where we could wander around and explore. There was a perfect spot to set up a tent, the bathroom was clean and tidy, and Silver Lake was close by so we were able to hang out at the playground there, too!

Weekend at Evergrin

My wife and I had a splendid weekend at Evergrin. Rich and Kathleen are super hosts, kind and mellow. We had a great time chatting with them about their farm and the local area. The photos of the meadows where we camped were as beautiful and spacious as their posting represents, and the campsites well-dispersed so it just felt like the wide-open spaces that we often want for camping, but rarely get. We will be going back this summer.
