Winter Magic
We loved our cozy cabin! It was a beautiful, winter forest experience. The cabin feels tucked away from the world, while still having everything you need. It felt like glamour camping for us- yet it still provided a rustic experience. 10/10 would recommend!

Baby Bear’s Cabin
Phenomenal again
Lovely stay while skiing at Jay’s Peak! Second time to Baby Bear Cabin, and it delivered once again. The first night was a little chilly (-8 degrees outside), but the wood stove got us through the night with consistent stoking. The second night was a bit warmer (12 degrees outside) and we were able to let the fire die out overnight without getting too cold.
This time around we were particularly impressed with how well designed the cabin is. The layout makes such great economical use of space without sacrificing function. (Especially compared to other cabins we’ve been too/seen - this is a strong fav). We meet Jerry, who is always a gem and makes sure you’ve got enough firewood etc, while remaining relatively hands off so you can have your own experience.
We used the hot tub last year (outside temps around 25 degrees) with great success and hoped to again this year. However, do to the chilly temps while we were there, the water had frozen solid! No matter, it was too cold for us to dream about it anyway.

Loved being out in the woods no light pollution no loud noises. I’m no wood stove pro but we still were able to cook inside. (It was really cold and didn’t want to use the gas grill outside lol)
Other than that if visiting in the winter be very careful with icy roads! We got stuck otw

Cozy Cabin in the Woods
This was a fantastic little cabin for a Christmas Week getaway for my wife and I. Everything inside and out was well thought-out, clean and comfortable. The host provides plenty of firewood to keep the cabin cozy and cooking essentials are likewise provided.
We look forward to the next time we can make it back!

Cozy!
Super cute and cozy! We had a great time exploring the local area and having this cabin to come back to. It has cooking tools and kitchen things to cook on the woodstove, plenty of wood under the cabin for both the woodstove and the hot tub, and the composting toilet was easy to use. If you read the other reviews, they're right--be prepared to let the hot tub heat up over a few hours! I think it took us about 4-5 total but it was nighttime in the winter, your mileage may vary. Overall, loved the cabin, and we will probably visit again in the summer!

Baby Bear’s Cabin
Had a great 2-night solo retreat at Jerry’s cabin, which is nicely designed, clean, comfy, and well-equipped. The nice little wood stove keeps the place warm, and the wood-fired hot tub is not to be missed (though be careful not to get it too hot like I did!). It’s situated a short walk from where you park, and far enough away from the main house to feel away from it all. The property is a nice taste of the north woods, in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Jerry was unobtrusive but available when I needed more firewood. I definitely recommend!

So beautiful! Very private, tucked away in the forrest. Extremely comfortable. Great set up. The cabin was very warm and well insulated and the cast iron stove worked like a charm. Really charming cabin and beautiful landscape. Jerry is great host. It’s highly recommend.

Hidden gem!
This place was everything my son and I's soul needed! Jerry was great with communication and was close enough should we need anything. The cabin itself is a must see and well worth it. It's in a secluded place away from the world but a close enough drive to Jays Peak (20 minutes) or tons of hiking trails. We had an absolute blast and will definitely rebook in the future. The hottub is an excellent feature but we loved in the cabin hearing the rain all around us. If you're hesitating... book it. It'll be worth it :) definitely a hidden gem

This place was one of a kind! You can tell Jerry puts a lot of work into hosting. The sleeping arrangements were very comfy, everything was clean and we'll layed out. We used the hot tub our second night there and it was so fun and novel. Definitely recommend and will be back!

the most perfect cabin!!!!
The most perfect cabin! My boyfriend and I had the best time at Jerry's cabin. It was very well equipped and cozy, and Jerry was quick to respond to any questions we had. We also learned he built it himself and it is so impressive!!
Highlight was definitely the wood fire hot tub and indoor fire place. You feel very isolated but it is also comforting knowing that it's not too far from gas stations, farm stands, or convenience stores. It's also surrounded by beautiful nature. Drives to sights and trails are a beautiful experience themselves. Thank you so much Jerry!

Jerry's cabin was very quite and cozy with complete privacy. Everything was neatly managed. Especially the big tub outside was just incredible for my family to relax and watch stars at night!
Jerry and his family is very kind/friendly and only a min. away to help guests. All fire wood were provided which was also super nice!

The Perfect Off Grid Getaway!
Another dreamy anniversary getaway all thanks to Jerry & Hipcamp!
Baby Bear's Cabin is the prettiest little off grid cabin tucked away in the quiet forests of Vermont fashioned with an out door kitchen, a fire fed hot tub, and heated solar shower! This was just our style!
It's long weekends like these that allow my husband and I to slow down, disconnect, & reflect on years past.
Jerry was a wonderful kind host, who didn't hesitate when we asked for more water for the outdoor kitchen. His daughter's even made homemade sugar cookies for us!

Amazing Weekend
My husband, daughter, and I had an amazing weekend at this cabin. It was exactly as described. We loved the hot tub, outside shower, and peaceful solitude. The whole cabin was adorable and my daughter enjoyed the extra loft space.
The location also allowed for a quick day trip into Canada (recommend using the ArriveCAN mobile app to expedite border crossing). We enjoyed lots of laughs and family time. Such a perfect location and accommodations. The beds are super comfy and the outside kitchen easy to use. We brought our own bowls, utensils and coffee mugs but wasn’t necessary as Jerry has them provided. There was also a nice kettle for heating water which we did use. We also brought head lamps which were helpful to add additional lighting but candles and lamps are also provided. Highly recommend this cabin for the hot tub and off grid experience. 10/10.

Tub dreams!
This place is dreams! The tub is incredible - spacious and right under the stars. Outside kitchen works great. Outside shower is lovely. Beds are super comfortable. We can’t wait to stay here again and again! 10/10.

Perfectly cozy
We had a great time at Jerry’s cabin! It’s lovely space tucked away just off the family homestead and we will absolutely visit again.
Jerry’s communication was great, he gave us good directions and check in instructions. We happened to see him on our way in and he welcomed us and made sure we didn’t have any questions.
The cabin is just as described, clean, and well appointed, with everything we needed for the weekend. We brought some cooking materials, just in case, but didn’t break them out because Jerry had it all covered. The bed was comfortable and we were grateful to have the outdoor shower, since it was very hot weather.
We especially enjoyed the wood-fired hot tub, perfectly positioned for excellent star gazing. We were able to slow-heat it to a comfortable temperature and spent the evening chatting and enjoying nature and a soak.

Peaceful Stay with Many Amenities
First, I just want to say thank you again to Mayika & Jerry for opening up their cabin to Hipcampers, and for being so incredibly kind and helpful.
My #1 recommendation would be to take a class with them! I signed up for Soap Making and not only was it incredibly fun, but I also just loved chatting with Mayika about both of our interests and learning from each other.
Baby Bear's Cabin: nicely tucked away but still not too far away from the farm. I definitely brought too much with me! The path to the cabin is hilly, so dragging or carrying all my things wouldn't have been possible for me. I had to take multiple small trips. So my suggestion would be not to bring a lot with you. You don't need to anyway, many of the things I had with me were already provided.
The hands-down best feature on the property is the wood-fired hot tub. I suggest dedicating an entire day to just being at camp and firing it up. I think it took me about a good 4 hours to get the temperature perfect, but I really wasn't keeping good track. I was just laying in my hammock, whittling a spoon.
The second best feature is that hot outdoor shower. It felt so good.
I typically visit a different Hipcamp every May, but I would absolutely come back here again. <3

Serenity Under the Stars
We absolutely loved our stay at Jerry’s Cabin! The cabin is tucked behind the property so you feel very secluded.
Waking up you feel like you are deep within the forrest, completely surrounded by trees.
The hot tub was definitely a highlight. We ended up overheating it the first night but when we woke up in the morning it was the perfect temperature. We had mimosas and breakfast while enjoying a soak. He had a variety of board games to play and we downloaded a movie and watched from bed in the evening.
He left ample firewood including kindling in the cabin under the stairs. Plastic plates, forks knives were available for use as well as a skillet and some grilling utensils. Grill was easy to use and we were able to enjoy a hot meal under the stars. We brought our own candles for ambience. It was delightful. ☺️

Baby Bear’s Cabin
Lovely little cabin in the woods! It gets super cozy with the wood stove. Had nearly all the basic amenities we needed. We just brought along a little cook pot and a coffee making set-up to augment. There are plates and mugs, but bring bowls if you’ll need those. We were unsuccessful in getting the tub adequately heated after an extended attempt, but others didn’t seem to have an issue, so it must have been our ineptitude! Jerry was welcoming and communicative in his messages and the place was simple, clean and comfortable with many thoughtful touches, and it’s a great location. I’d definitely return again!
