This property is owned by Carl and Lores Dauenhauer and was initially operated as a multi-functional farm raising a thousand acres in various crops. In the early 1980's Carl and his children began planting grapes on the property and now the vineyard is the predominate feature for the farm. Most of the vineyard production is sold to wineries located across the state, however the family does retain a small amount of grapes each year for their private wine label "Hauer of the Dauen". You are welcome to stop by the farm for wine tasting on Saturday and Sunday's 12:00-5:00pm. The park and campground area is a recent addition to the farm and had been a vision of Carl's for quite some time. Carl usually goes for a walk through the vineyard in the during sunrise and sunset, weather permitting, and he loves to share his life-story with any campers who want to chat.

Room for activities!
We loved the site! Large open field with tons of room for activities. The site was well maintained and the super easy directions/communication from the host made our stay too easy. Thank you 🙏

Great little tent area
Enjoyed tent camping! There is a clean porta potty onsite and while it is next to a road there wasnt much road noise. I do suggest bringing bug spray though!

Beautiful Vineyard Camping
The property is gorgeous and well taken care of. We got lucky and had the whole camping lawn area to ourselves. And went for a morning run and walk in the vineyard. Wonderful experience!

The hostess was helpful when I arrived. Helped me find a shady spot (which was under pine trees that dropped sap on my solar panels, oh well). It really is just a big field. No water available and no other amenities. The vineyard is over to the side and I biked along it on a dirt road in the evening, very nice. I would try to find a different spot next time given how much this place costs.

Spent just one night but had a wonderful time. Easy to access, well maintained, and a great spot for camping overall. Next to their winery, which made for a great combo upon arrival - and the host was lovely! Created great memories with the family, would love to come back!

Quiet night under the moon.
Had the field to myself for a night. It’s a simple quiet setting next to the vineyard. I could hear coyotes in the distance and had a big moon overhead. Bring what you need. Being self contained is key. But Kari and Carol are super helpful and responsive. I’ll stay again. It’s an easy drive in wine country to escape the city.

Overall we had a nice stay but felt the price was high for what is a very large grass field next to a vineyard.

Despite making a last minute booking we we’re welcomed in person by our very friendly host & enjoyed a peaceful night at this well maintained site on the edge of the vineyard.

Beautiful open space!
We loved our stay and the host and family at the winery were incredibly kind. We were the only ones staying that night and got the shady spot (#2, a must-request if you know it's going to be really hot during your stay) and our 2 year old got free range of the well-manicured field. We would definitely return.

Unique, Playful Family Camping
We have camped here twice with several other families and kids. The parents enjoy a very mellow camping experience with a lovely view (along a very quiet road) while the kids play all. day. long. in the field. There’s a something about the field…they can’t stop playing. Bring your badminton set, kite, whiffle ball, soccer ball, corn hole, etc. to maximize the awesomeness. Right next to a vineyard for a unique experience. Close to Evergreen Aviation Museum and other attractions if it happens to be rainy. Five stars!

We had a wonderful stay with peace and quiet, star filled sky, and walks through the vineyard. The hosts were very friendly and treated us to a wonderful bottle of their Gamay Noir. We would stay here again!

We really enjoyed the wide open space and proximity to wine country. The only downside was the neighboring vineyard employs a couple of speakers which blare some horrible sounds of screeching birds, my guess in a way to keep other birds from eating the grapes. The blaring sounds began around 6:30 am and went until about 8:00 pm. Really put a damper on an otherwise terrific location and experience.

This was a very pleasant stay in a lush grass field by vineyards in Oregon’s wine country near McMinneville. Kari and Paul were very accommodating. We had additional families join our plan last minute and it couldn’t have been better! Great sunset. Clean portapotty. Plenty of space.

Great field for bare feet!
Great spot! We stayed on the Dauenhauer Family campground for one night on a very hot Aug evening. The field (it’s basically a huge grass field) was very maintained and spacious. When we arrived another large party had already taken the shady tree spot in the field. We found the next spot that would get shade as the sun came down. But on a hot 90+ degree day it can get very hot. We were not prepared with a shade cover but fortunately the host let us use their hose to fill a solar shower we brought. This definitely helped with beating the heat. The field was also so huge we could be in our own little section and feel very apart from the 2 other groups that were also camping that night. We could see the other groups, but not really “see” them. There was a huge bachelorette party that I thought for sure would be loud all night. To my surprise we could barely hear anything from them cause they were pretty far way. We know they were partying all night cause we could see their lights running across the field all night to the port a potty. Which the potty was super clean and well located for all to access. We were able to get to the tasting room before they closed to get a quick complement tasting. I’d definitely choose to stay here again. It was super close to many great wineries and felt very safe and secure.

This is a great relaxing open grassy space in wine country. Perfect spot that is easy to get to outside of Portland.

Great weekend ernight from Portland
This is a great place for a quick overnight from Portland, only about an hour's drive out. The campsites themselves are flat and grassy, ringing a large, soft green field. At the edge of the field is a real, working vineyard. It's very pretty and breezy. The enclosing area has farms, nurseries, and is scenic. Our host greeted us in the evening and was very welcoming and pleasant to chat with. A tasting was available the next day so we stopped by. The wines were excellent, creative, and affordably priced, so we couldn't resist grabbing a few bottles. Great trip for anyone just wanting to relax and take in the views.

Huge green lawn to run and play
The camping here was so pleasant! Kari and Carol were both very responsive and communicative. Carol met us when we arrived and showed us to our perfect spot with thoughtfulness about the other groups that were there as far as making sure everyone had enough space and the spot worked for each groups' needs. She checked in a couple of times over our 4 days and even went out of her way and helped us mend a broken outdoor game my kiddo had managed to rip. We set up and played lots of games outside and had a wonderful family trip. We were able to walk over to the winery next door and enjoy a delightful wine tasting and surprised that it was complimentary to campers. Sent us away with info about where to visit around the area as well. Very thoughtful. Thank you for your hospitality.
