We loved staying at The Shack! Cathy's property is gorgeous and nestled away in a divine little spot. It's the perfect place to get away and escape somewhere quiet. We loved that we could rent the generator for an additional 20$, that made our stay much more comfier to be able to charge up our electronics or use the lights when needed. We also forgot our drinking water and Cathy had an ample amount provided for us. We look forward to returning.

The Rustic Shack
The Rustic Shack had more than we expected: fresh water for drinking, washing, ice, fire wood, propane, butane, and much more! The third sleeping spot is a futon which was totally fine. Cathy is a wonderful host who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful. If you want to relax, spend time together, play games, go for walks, and enjoy time in nature, this is your spot!

I loved this cozy cabin! The views were beyond amazing for the price and the pictures don’t justify how beautiful the cabin is. There’s so many things to do and it’s a great place for friends or families it’s so inclusive for everyone. Would 100% come back again!

This was our second visit to The Rustic Shack and it won’t be our last. Cathy is a wonderful host—always warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. The site itself is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfect for families. Our three-year-old had the freedom to explore safely, which gave us peace of mind and made the experience even more relaxing. We’ve stayed at several campsites over the years, but this one truly stands out. Cathy goes above and beyond, and it shows. Looking forward to making this a regular getaway!

I really love this place! It’s private, quiet, and surrounded by nature. The host is amazing! If you're looking to connect with nature and breathe in the fresh air, this is the perfect spot.

The setting is fantastic. Would be a great spot to build a life size Shire. Also looks like its from the world of the teletubbies. Wonderful selection for kitchen, amazing firepit, tons of wood. Plenty of space for tents. Lots of privacy. Model planes to watch some days. Will likely be visiting again! Cathy was a great host!

Amazing spot. Perfectly described and betted than expected. Close to Uxbridge and Newmarket but feels far away from everything. Cathy was super helpful and accommodating. We will be back!

The Rustic Shack
Our 2nd time coming back at The Shack. We had a really good time regardless of the weather. Rain or shine! Just always come prepared and you will have a fantastic time. We brought a karaoke and sang at the top of our lungs till 3am. Cant wait to be back again! Oh and Cathy was very helpful and accommodating big thumbs up for her and her husband:)

Loved the site! We enjoyed a lot. So clean and well maintained. The area was huge with full of greenery and it had everything that a person might need while camping. Host was very friendly and welcoming.

We had a great time. Lots of space for the kids, extreemly private and cathy was super to deal with. If your into tent/ off grid camping with a nice spot to get out of the rain and don't have to take as many supplies with you this is perfect for the price you pay. We will be back for sure.

I wanted to take a moment to express how delighted we were with our recent stay at the Rustic Shack. It truly exceeded our expectations in every way possible.
Firstly, our little guy had an absolute blast with the open field and the bonfire. It was the perfect setting for family bonding and enjoying nature. The atmosphere was just what we needed to unwind and reconnect.
The shack itself was impeccable. It provided comfortable sleeping arrangements and plenty of room for everyone in our group. We were pleasantly surprised by how well-maintained everything was, which made our stay all the more enjoyable.
Moreover, the hospitality shown to us was exceptional. The host greeted us warmly upon arrival and gave us a small but informative tour of the property. Their attentiveness and friendliness made us feel right at home from the start.
Overall, our experience at the Rustic Shack was nothing short of wonderful. We are already discussing our next visit and cannot wait to return. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable camping experience.

My experience at Rustic Shack was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, Cathy was welcoming and helpful. The campsite itself was well-maintained and nestled in a beautiful natural setting, which made for a peaceful and enjoyable stay. The facilities were clean and conveniently located.
Relaxing around a campfire under the stars, there was something for everyone. The atmosphere was friendly and family-oriented, perfect for both quiet relaxation and outdoor adventures.

Our stay at Cathy's shack was a pleasant surprise! Despite our last-minute decision, Cathy was very helpful in securing our reservation. The shack is a perfect gateway from our busy schedule. Cathy is such a great host making sure everything is all set. She is readily available whenever we needed her. The kids had a great time exploring the area and playing hide and seek. Cathy was also flexible with out check in and check out times. This is a hidden gem and surely will recommend to our family and friends.

Cathy's Rustic Shack was the perfect weekend getaway for us. Her cabin provided us with all the necessities that made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. My partner and I could not believe that we were not even an hour away from downtown Toronto cause it felt like we were tucked away in our own world surrounded by nature's beauty! I've never stayed at a place surrounded by beautiful hills that just leaves you in awe. I would say the location was our favourite part of this listing. It's truly one of a kind.
We are already planning our trip back to stay even longer cause a weekend was definitely not enough.
Cathy was also very responsive and accommodating as a host - we really couldn't say one negative experience from staying at her place. Book this place before the word gets out!!

It was the best camping with my friends !!!!!! The place was so nice and we really enjoyed doing campfires. Cathy was so so nice that she explained us everything in the shack and the sunset point Cathy told us was amazing (10 min walk from the shack)❤️ I would love to visit this place again.

This place exceeded our expectations!
This place was right in the middle of big farm filed with lots of logs to chop and use for a campfire. Very quite and remote, great place for a Boyz weekend.
Cathy was a great host, and always willing to be on standby for fire wood for the cabin stove. Or, in our case, bring an additional wood splitting axe for all the fire wood we chopped. There is also a big forest on the property that Cathy let us explore (granted it was after when all the crops were harvested in the fields).
One tiny issue we ran in the shack was, their is no way to lock/unlock the doors. You have to lock the doors from either the inside or outside. We ran into this problem in the night, when people wanted to go for a midnight stroll or the washroom and ended up locking the people inside to keep the heat in. It would be nice to have the door properly close so we do not have to "lock" the door from the outside.
Regardless, this is a great location for a weekend getaway/ disconnect from all the hustle and bustle from city life.
Highly would recommend this place for future visits!!!

The Rustic Shack
It was an amazing stay at the Hipcamp! Cathy was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The place itself is very secluded and private which me and my group enjoyed. We loved the morning views and waking up to a beautiful sunrise as well as the campfire during sunset. It was also partly raining during our stay but we still had an amazing time. The place had everything we needed. Cathy was also helpful in disposing our garbages and recycle by the end of our stay. Overall, an amazing experience and looking forward to coming back next summer!

Cathy’s a wonderful host. Site and “shack” are clean, well kept, and have everything you could need. The location of the site couldn’t be better. A short hike up a hill provides a beautiful lookout to watch the sun set before returning to build a fire under the stars.

Beautiful land! So peaceful! Cathy has the Shack fully equipped for people who want to pack light! The wood stove made sleeping so cozy. The outhouse is comfortable and clean. The cooking space has lots of prepping room and had a BBQ for us to use. We enjoyed everything about the trip, we only wish we stayed more than two nights! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. The four of us are already talking about our next stay

Staying a couple of nights at The Shack was amazing even though the weather was cold and rainy! We kept warm with a wooden stove! Very cozy. I look forward to coming again in the summer months as there is plenty of land to explore and a big firepit we did not get much of a chance to use. You don't have to bring much with you as just about everything is provided which is great for those of us that don't like to spend too much time packing.

Cathy's Rustic Cabin is a hidden gem. If you're looking for a place to relax, read, and explore the great outdoors, this is the place for you. The cabin is well appointed and stocked with everything that you need. If you're looking for a weekend getaway, I highly recommend visiting!

What an amazing experience. I stayed at Cathy’s Shack in the Woods for a weekend by myself, it was beyond peaceful. The cabin was so clean and cozy. Cathy was so helpful with everything, just a text message away for any questions I had. I highly recommend you choose to stay here, whether your in a group or looking for a solo trip. The outdoor kitchen is perfect. I cooked all my meals on the BBQ that is provided.
Amazing experience! 10/10, highly recommend! You won’t regret it.
