Nice sunset but very noisy
The sunsets on the dock were beautiful, and I really enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. The proximity to the lake was definitely a plus. I was also fortunate to be the only camper there during my stay, thankfully.
That said, the experience overall didn’t quite match what I had envisioned for a peaceful nature getaway. The campsites are located just a few feet off a very busy, noisy main road. Traffic was constant, and passersby often stopped to peer into the site, which made it hard to fully relax. The campsites themselves are very close together, with no privacy or separation..so if others had been staying there, the combination of chatter, foot traffic, and road noise would’ve made for a far less enjoyable experience.
There’s a public park and swimming area directly across the road, which was mentioned in the listing, but I had imagined the campsites would be tucked away off a quieter path. That misunderstanding is on me for not reading the reviews more carefully, which is why I’m leaving this honest one now. I also feel the listing photos don’t fully convey just how close you’ll be sleeping to the road.
If you’re coming from the city and don’t mind a bit of noise, and want to be close to amenities, this spot may suit you. I can imagine those with children would enjoy the public beach and park and may not be as bothered by the constant noise. But if you’re seeking peace, quiet, and privacy, you may want to look elsewhere.
