Taos Goji Ecolodge, is an historic property with ten renovated cabins and a 4-acre goji berry farm located on 40 acres of pristine land in San Cristobal, New Mexico. The cabins were built at the beginning of last century, originally for sheep herders. Both Alduous Huxley and D.H. Lawrence lived and wrote in this cabins, and later Elizabeth Kubler Ross and Ram Dass stayed here.

Pitch your tent in one of our two unique campsites (Ceremony Field #1 and Apple Grove #2). Each site is right next to an acequia where water flows down from the mountain. The drinking water comes from our deep wells and there is on-site showers, bathrooms, and coin-op laundry facilities available for campers. Please use laundry after housekeepers have left for the day, generally afte 5pm. Fires are not permitted at the campsite but we have a large community fire pit for you to gather around. Please ask manager for permission to build a fire or grill as we are in a extreme fire zone. Goji berry farm is nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains in close proximity to Taos (11 miles) and is only thirty minutes to Taos Ski Valley & Red River. We are also near the DH Lawrence ranch (5 miles) and the Lama Foundation (7 miles).We raise organic goji berries, and have a family of alpacas, mini goats, sheep and a donkey. We also have chickens and turkeys. We also have an Eco-Lodge with historic rustic log cabins and adobe casitas for rent. The property is surrounded by the Carson National Forest and the land has creeks, ponds, aspens & cottonwood trees, flower gardens, stone paths, goji's, raspberry & apple orchards and breathtaking views of the mountains and the mesa. We use only green cleaners and recycle. Aldous Huxley lived in one of our cabins and D.H. Lawrence lived up the road and wrote here, so the writers who come here are in great company. We are also a WWOOF host farm so during the spring and summer months the farm is full of projects and helping hands. During summer we have fresh, organic vegetables available to guests and during late summer and fall there are plenty of apples to pick.

The Georgia O’Keefe’s cabin is one of four built at the beginning of last century, originally for sheep herders. Both Aldous Huxley and D.H. Lawrence lived and wrote in these cabins, Frieda Lawrence and Dorothy Brett were frequent visitors as well and later Elizabeth Kubler Ross and Ram Dass stayed here. The log cabin, designed for 1-2 people, has a cozy and quiet feel. The porch overlooks a flower garden and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The cabin is a one room efficiency/duplex with a bathroom and kitchen. It is fully furnished and equipped. There is a wood burning stove and a propane heater. The water comes from our deep wells. Only green cleaners and detergents are used.

Our "Tewa Glamping Tipi" is located on a small goji berry farm 15 miles north of Taos, NM; 25 min to Taos Ski Valley & Red River. Located near several hot springs, walking trails, the Carson National Forest, and DH Lawrence Ranch. Enjoy the cottonwood trees, silence, and bright stars. Organic veggies and eggs available seasonally. Features a queen-sized bed, table and chairs, rugs and a storage chest. Guests have access to outside showers and bathrooms. The tipi is facing East which overlooks our organic goji berry farm in addition to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The tipi is equipped with a queen size bed, table and chairs, board games, eco-friendly toiletries, and you will have access to shared bathrooms, laundry room and showers, in addition to the sauna & hot tub. We offer a farm breakfast at 9am for an extra fee. Please give us 24 hours notice. As a guest, you will be granted access to 40 acres of walking paths and quiet spots on the farm as well as thousands more in the neighboring Carson National Forest! Fresh organic eggs and veggies are available seasonally. All accommodations are cleaned with biodegradable cleaning products, mostly vinegar, and fragrance-free detergents are used on the linens. Drinking water comes from our deep wells. Our dwellings and farm are now powered by solar energy. Perfectly inbetween, we are 20 miles to Taos Ski Valley and 20 miles to Red River Ski Area. A play ground is available for families with children. Dogs are welcome, absolutely no smoking inside. Nearby are opportunities for hiking, fishing, lama trekking, horseback trails. hot air ballooning, and natural hot springs are within driving distance. San Cristobal is a small village and our eco lodge was built at the turn of last century. Aldous Huxley lived and wrote in our cabins and we found water colors from D.H. Lawrence and letters to the publishers from Frieda Lawrence in the attic of one of the cabins. We are surrounded by national forest and a small river flows from the mountains and into part of the village.

Frieda’s Cabin is a furnished one room 325 sq ft efficiency/duplex that originally served as sheepherder’s lodging at the turn of the last century. Now it has a well equipped kitchen, full bathroom with a bath/shower, and a queen size bed. Frieda's Cabin is located atTaos Goji Eco Lodge and Farm Retreat. Our cabins are nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and surrounded by national forest. Our charming & quaint, historic log cabins and casitas are in close proximity to Taos (11 miles) and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River (ca: 20 miles). Frieda's Cabin is located on a forty acre farm. Guests have access to the garden and the outside table, chairs, a hammocks (during warm weather) and a barbecue and a fire pit (only to be used with permission of the management due to the fire risk). The cottage faces the Sangre De Cristo Mountains to the east, a communal area to the west and a large open field to the south where we grow corn and pumpkins. There is also an old apple grove in the middle of the field and you are welcome to taste the different apple varieties. Close to the cabins is an open barn with tables and benches. Guests are welcome to use the barn for meals and its a wonderful place to watch the sun go down over the distant mountains. We have several vegetable garden in the summer. The Huxley’s Cabin is located atTaos Goji Eco Lodge and Farm Retreat. It used to serve as a dairy barn at the turn of the century. It is a large studio cabin and has a bathroom, kitchenette with pots and pans, fridge and a queen bed and a queen sofa bed. Can sleep up to four people. Nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and surrounded by national forest. These quaint, historic log cabins and casitas are in close proximity to Taos (11 miles) and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River (ca: 20 miles). We are surrounded by national forest and a small creek flows from the mountains and into part of the village. Part of an eco lodge, this cabin sits on 40 acres among seasonal creeks, ponds, aspens and cottonwood trees and organic berry orchards. The farm has great views of the mountains. It's a great space to kick back in, write, paint, hike on the nearby trails or take walks, fish, mountain biking or go cross country skiing. The dark skies are great for star gazing. Within driving distance are opportunities for lama trekking, horseback trails, hot air ballooning and natural hot springs are within driving distance. A seasonal vegetable garden and chickens provide produce and fresh ranch eggs to renters. A play ground is available for families with children. This cabin is a stand alone structure. San Cristobal is a small village and our eco lodge was built at the turn of last century. Aldous Huxley lived and wrote in our cabins and we found water colors from D.H. Lawrence and letters to the publishers from Frieda Lawrence in the attic of one of the cabins. Aldous Huxley is said to have helped build the outhouse as there was no plumbing when he stayed in the cabins. Taos Ski Valley reminds us of the Swiss/French/Austrian founders' roots blended with the traditions and customs of the local Hispanic and Pueblo Indian cultures. Being the home of extreme skiing, this is just not a resort for experts, with many beginner and intermediate runs. The ski school is one of the nation's best. It also has an excellent children's day care and ski facility, both skiers and snowboarders are welcome. Taos is home to more than twenty sites on the National Register of Historic Places. The Taos Pueblo has been occupied for nearly a millennium and is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the Unites States. The Taos Pueblo was added as an Unesco World Heritage Site in 1992 as one of the most significant historical cultural landmarks in the world; There are many ways to explore art in Taos. Taos is an old art colony since 1899. Some of the artists' studios have been preserved and may be viewed by visitors. Many of the historic sites are homes and studios of artists, including the Mabel Dodge Luhan House,Eanger Irving Couse House and Studio, Joseph Henry Sharp Studios, the Leon Gaspard House, the Couse/Sharp Historic Site and the Ernest Martin Hennings House. On Ledoux Street, just south of the Taos Plaza, are the Ernest L. Blumenschein House and Harwood House. There are three Art Museums in Taos: Harwood Museum of Art, Taos Art Museum and Millicent Rogers Museum that provide art from the pueblo Native Americans, Taos Society of Artists and modern and contemporary artists of the Taos art colony. The town has numerous art galleries and there are several houses of the Taos Society of Artists.

DH Lawrence Farm Cabin

The D.H. Lawrence cabin is a furnished one room 325 sq ft efficiency/duplex with a kitchen, queen size bed, full bathroom and comfortably sleeps two. A wood fire stove, electric heat pump or alternatively a gas stove, will keep you warm during cold nights. The cabin is a studio and can sleep two people in a queen bed. The D.H. Lawrence Cabin is located on a forty acre farm. Guests have access to the garden and the outside table, chairs, a hammocks (during warm weather) and a barbecue and a fire pit (only to be used with permission of the management due to the fire risk). The cottage faces the Sangre De Cristo Mountains to the east, a communal area to the west and a large open field to the south where we grow corn and pumpkins. There is also an old apple grove in the middle of the field and you are welcome to taste the different apple varieties. Close to the cabins is an open barn with tables and benches. Guests are welcome to use the barn for meals and its a wonderful place to watch the sun go down over the distant mountains. We have several vegetable garden in the summer. Guests are welcome to pick some veggies for some weeding. Please speak to the property manager. We have a small play ground with swings and a slide. There are chickens and guests can feed them with table scraps (please no chicken or eggs, we don't want them to be cannibals) Be sure to close the chickens gate behind you, We have stray dogs in the valley that can harm our chickens. There is also an old rescue goat, Yoda, plus two alpacas, Albert and Allison. You are welcome to feed them, they love grass and also branches from the old Chinese Elm trees. Interaction with guests depends on the privacy needs of the vacationers. We do arrange potlucks and dinners throughout the year for those who are socially inclined. Guests are also welcome to join us in the seasonal Trading Post cafe for breakfast with the wwoofers (willing workers in organic farms). We recommend that you arrive by car. Northern NM is full of scenic drives only accessible by car. There are two shuttle services in Taos and also a "Blue Bus' service that passes San Cristobal twice a day. If you are a biker, this is wonderful place to explore trails to Taos or other nearby attractions or around our prope Check in: 3pm Check out: 11am We practice self check in so you can head straight to your cabin upon arrival. Here are some helpful tips for your stay: It would be great to arrive in daylight, so you can find your way easily. A flashlight might come in handy as we have no street lights here although we have solar lights along the pathways. You should be sure to pick up groceries in Taos before heading to San Cristobal, as there are no stores convenient to the village. If you forget something, the closest place is the little convenience store in the Mid-Town Market & Lounge in Arroyo Hondo, halfway between San Cristobal and Taos. Your cabin is furnished including a coffee maker, other kitchen appliances and cookware. We provide coffee filters, salt & pepper, olive oil, and dish soap. DOGS We love dogs! But PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE WITH YOUR PET. Only one dog is permitted here unless you've made special arrangements. Please be sure to protect the rugs, quilts, furniture, etc. from muddy paws and shedding fur. Please don't leave your dog alone in the cabin or in the premises and don’t permit your dog to bark in the cabin, and please do pick up after your dog outside if they poop where people are walking.

The Pond Casita is a renovated log cabin, a former chicken coop built at the turn of last century. It has two rooms, the bedroom with a queen bed. The living room/ kitchen has a queen sofa bed. In front is a small koi pond and waterfall. The bathroom has a shower and the fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator and propane stove. In the back is a small enclosed yard. All the cabins are located in the front of the 40 acres.

Grateful that they had keypads for locks so we didn't feel badly for arriving at night. Nice cabin. Loved hearing the rooster in the morning. Bed was comfortable and the area was beautiful.

Beautiful property, very quiet and peaceful. The tipi was a wonderful experience to disconnect. I stayed here at the tail end of my week camping road trip, so having a nice cozy, comfy place to sleep with access to a hot shower was heaven.

We stayed in the Huxley cabin and really enjoyed it. It's quiet and relaxing. And, the stars at night were amazing! We are already talking about staying again soon.

Frieda Lawrence Eco-Cabin
The Taos Goji property truly makes this Hipcamp worth it. There are several community spaces, including two soaking tubs and a sauna, which made our trip. The cabin itself was just enough for comfort. My partner and I were able to cook a meal, though we would recommend bringing your own spices, and enjoyed a cozy evening of soaking in the hot tub and hot veggies. The space is heated through several different elements, and the caretaker was quick to assist us when we got cold. In general, the investment for the duplex cabin seems steep, but if you are able to take time out of your travels to enjoy the property and it's amenities, it quickly holds generous value.

I had a great experience tent camping on the property. Private site with a separate entrance, but still connected to the rest of the farm and property outbuildings via fenced-off walking path. Not the quietest spot to camp, as it's kinda near a main highway and could hear traffic. But a beautiful and peaceful property. Shared shower and bathroom facilities were clean and private. Loved sitting in the hammocks or on the barn porch at sunset. Big open-air "barn" with tons of seating and good wifi access. Will definitely come back!

Frieda Lawrence Eco-Cabin
The cabin was very cute and the property was beautiful. It was great for a little romantic getaway. We greatly enjoyed the hot tub under the stars in the bed was comfy. I do have a few complaints: the kitchen was supposed to be fully stocked, but the only pot or pan was one cast iron skillet. No pot to boil water in and make my oatmeal. And the knives were horrible. Also, I feel that the 10 AM check out is really stingy and made us rush a lot to get out the door. 11 AM like every other place I’ve stayed would’ve been much better.

Amazing place for some R&R! Must go. I thought it might be too hot to sleep during mid summer but the temperature at night was perfect!!! The hospitality was great. The owners invited me for some wine and tapas. They have built a great community. I love how eco-friendly the farm is. Overall 10/10!!

This was our 2nd time visiting Taos Goji and it was just as amazing as the first time. I am so grateful for the hard work and the love that Eric and Sia have put into their land. Sophia and I look forward to visiting again and again in the years to come!

Dorothy Brett’s Cabin Eco Cabin
The owners were pretty rude, and I hated every second of being here. The hot tub is actually just a soaking tub because the jets of the hot tub didnt work anymore and there was barly any water in it. The consistency is tea like which is what they described in the binder but it feels gross. Checkout time on hip camp is wrong it says 11am is checkout! However in their binder it says they want everyone out by 10 am and they will charge you $50.00 for every 20 minutes over. The steam room wasn't what was advertised when i messaged to ask where it was they didn't reply for 4 hours. Then I called and they pretty much called me stupid for not walking into the woods and finding it then at 9:00 at night in the dark came over to cabin to scream at me for wanting a refund because of the harsh call and the amenities not being up to par including the fact that it says AC but it was broken. There is no sign that says sauna this way me and one nearby cabin guest were looking for it for about 30 minutes and couldn't find it. The one directly behind the cabin number one is gross and old and didn't work until he came over to turn it on. I never complain but this place is asking way too much money for it being what it is.

Peaceful farm
O’Keefe Historic Farm & Eco Cabin
I loved staying here! It is in a peaceful location, but close to Taos. The O'Keefe cabin was beautiful and had everything you needed, including air conditioning and lovely cedar toiletries. I loved the natural hot tub, which was perfect after a day of hiking. The animals were definitely my favorite part! I gave the chickens my leftover fruit scraps. The donkey, goats, and alpaca were adorable. There were many barn cats, including a friendly calico who loved pets.

Eric and his family were friendly and accommodating. We tent-camped and he walked us through a few options where to pitch. The land is beautifully wild, so you have to be flexible with where you pick. There is a shaded table and hammock with a lovely view. The bathrooms and showers are nice. Our kids enjoyed the playground and space. WiFi in the Barn works great. We didn’t use the hotubs or Sana, ran out of time, so we’ll have to go back another time. Bring bug spray to keep the mosquitos away. Really enjoyed this place. Nice vibes.

We had such a good time here. Our room was perfect for what we needed and we went and used the grill near the chickens for a couple of nights too. Walking the 40 acres was a great time with our dog. Such a convenient location as well. Thank you for the hospitality!

Such a gorgeous and thoughtful space. So many amazing eco-friendly touches and free eggs from the onsite chickens! The bathroom and shower were super clean and quite stylish too! The tent area got flooded from all the rain but since I’m a car camper, Eric walked me down to a convenient spot to park overnight near an apple tree. He pointed out a grill and outhouse between the two teepees I was able to use (it’s a bit of a walk to the main bathroom/showers at the entrance). It was a beautiful and peaceful stay and would definitely stay again should I find myself in Taos again! Oh just FYI there’s no service or WiFi out there so be sure you have their directions (maps, etc doesn’t navigate correctly). Dirt road, just go slow and you’ll be fine :-)

Beautiful private farm with tipis!
Tewa Glamping Tipi
What an amazing place! We live in the Taos area and love to go to rustic camping sites all over New Mexico. This one is truly unique. There are cabins that were built in the late 1800s/early 1900s. DH Lawrence and Aldous Huxley both spent significant time in those cabins, sometimes simultaneously. There is also a working farm with llamas and chickens. It has a large barn in the center of the property, then an artists retreat more modern cabin towards the back of the property along with two 20 foot tall canvas tipis. We stayed in one of the tipis and it was such a wonderful experience. There is a queen sized bed, chairs, an end table, and extra blankets. It was a freezing cold night and with the extra blankets we were toasty warm in the bed. The host lives in the front of the property and they gave us some farm fresh eggs as we were leaving. If you like a raw style of glamping this place is extremely cool with lots of history and charm.

Site 2 - Taos Goji Farm Campsites
What great stay on a beautiful property! Pitched a tent for 2 days on camp site #2. All accommodations you would need. Showers and bathrooms not a far walk from the site. There is an even closer outhouse if needed. There is a hot tub that would be great after a long day of hiking or traveling. Be willing to help out the farm crew and you might just get rewarded with some fresh eggs! All in all a great stay run by great people.

O’Keefe Historic Farm & Eco Cabin
Was overcharged for a one night stay in a dingy cabin named after a charming artist, with none of that artists work. Rates for these cabins were 89/night per the host and per airbnb. I booked on hipcamp bc my airbnb app wasn't working. The hipcamp price was 120/night. I addressed this with the host and they confirmed the nightly rate was actually 89, though I was charged the 120. After a conversation with the host I booked in good faith, figuring we would work something out later when the host wasn't too busy to talk, as he was giving a tour for an upcoming wedding. The next day, I asked the host to remedy the situation but they claimed it was out of their hands and said "I don't know what hipcamp charges". I involved hipcamp and they said, this is not true, the host knows the cost breakdown, the nightly charge is currently 120 and its up to him to provide a partial refund. He never did. Hipcamp couldn't help. This place is absolutely not worth what I paid for in nightly rate, taxes and inflated cleaning costs. The host seems to be incompetent in managing his property on these platforms and claims ignorance if something goes wrong. The farm was pretty. The rooms were not worth the asking price. Won't be back.

Rustic Farm camp

We visited in July. We were pleased to see the cabin had air conditioning, as it was near 100 degrees. The bed was very comfortable. The area was pleasantly quiet. If you like animals there are chickens, alpacas, a goat and 40 acres to roam on. There are a few hot tubs of differing styles. Wi-Fi was stable. The overall camp was weary and needs some love and elbow grease. Lots of potential. It has rustic farm atmosphere. The owners were interesting with a rich history. It was not as clean as expected.

Beautiful place to camp, we really enjoyed it. Close enough to town but feels like you’re out in the wilderness. There’s a small amount of road noise but it didn’t bother us and we didn’t notice while sleeping. It’s a short drive to the apple orchard of site #2 that requires going through two fences, second fence could use some work so it’s not as difficult to open and close. Also, the paint of my car got some light scratches from the overgrown brush on the dirt road. If you’re okay with that, being in the apple orchard is pretty magical. We really enjoyed the hot tub and watching the sunset from the dreamy gazebo covered in vines.

Extraordinary place!
O’Keefe Historic Farm & Eco Cabin
This place is absolutely magical ❤️! From the moment we arrived, I felt the beautiful energy that I'm sure has existed for many, many years. The hosts are super helpful, the cabins are cozy and rustic, the land has a story to tell. I felt extremely relaxed and didn't want to leave! The flowers were blooming, the animals were precious and it's tucked away in the most perfect mountain spot. I love the story and history of this place. I would 10/10 stay there again.
