Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
A beautiful campsite on a gorgeous lake, with a gravel pad to park a camper or other RV. Has a fire ring, picnic table, and a stairway leading to a dock that runs over large boulders and to the shore of Sailor Lake, nestled in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.
NOT stacked like sardines in a can (the normal camp experience). The neighbors are hardly to be seen through the trees that surround this beautiful clearing.
Sailor Lake is 168 acres. Has a National Forest Picnic area and Boat Landing on the north shore.
Access to popular Flambeau ATV trail.
Approximately 3 miles south of HWY 70 on a gravel road.Back in our short driveway to our huge gravel pad and relax! You've arrived at our "sanctuary of sunlight". Watch the clouds, listen to the birds, dream into the flames of a campfire or just nap. If you are more adventurous, there are hundreds of miles of ATV and UTV trails, biking, swimming, fishing, or kayaking readily available. We bought this lake lot because we were sick of trying to camp at a lake and not even seeing it when we arrived.
We got sick of being crammed together like sardines in a can, able to hear every word of the conversations around the campground. We wanted peace and quiet, privacy, and a campfire with the lake in the background. We wanted to walk down to the dock and cast our poles. Now we want to share it with you. Enjoy!
Pets welcome! Vault toilet and hand pump right around the corner at the National Forest Picnic area!
This site is about an hour from our home, so we will be doing a contactless check-in/check-out.
