Super propriété avec vue sur montagne. Accès à la rivières St Maurice pour kayak, paddle board, baignade la pêche à 10 min a pied. Il y a aussi un petit stationnement si vous voulez y aller en voiture. Site est aussi voisin des terre du gouvernement avec sentier pour la marche ou vélo de montagne approx 1.5 km et la fin du sentier encore une autre vue incroyable des montages. Sur le site une petite chute et un ruisseau. A vous d'explorer ! Le bois est fourni, cependant s'il en manque n'hésitez pas a vous en procurer le site a beaucoup de bois tomber.
N'hésitez pas a nous faire part de certaine choses a améliorer, on est dans nos début ces tout nouveau !
Regarder les photos, beaucoup d'info visuel pour des points de référence sur la route vers le camping. Vous avez un resto avant le pont sur la route 155 et une station de service. Vous avez aussi le visuel pour les conteneur a poubelle .
Chaque site vous aurez le branchement septique seulement, l'eau est prévue pour l'été 2027.

Les directions habituelles depuis Shawinigan :
Prenez la route 155 Nord jusqu’à l’Auberge Marineau, située au 3911 route 155. Continuez un peu plus loin jusqu’au pont Mékinac et tournez à gauche pour le traverser.
Le pont est payant (12 $ aller‑retour). Conservez votre billet dans la voiture, il sera nécessaire pour la sortie.
Après avoir passé la guérite, tournez immédiatement à droite sur le chemin des Bêtes Puantes. Continuez sur environ 4,5 km. En haut de la montée, vous verrez l’enseigne du camping : tournez à gauche.
Suivez ce chemin jusqu’aux emplacements. Le site réservé se trouvera sur votre gauche; repérez le numéro correspondant à votre réservation.

We had a great time at Matthew’s. We had enough privacy and really enjoyed the setup. Great views, the site had its own fire pit, very comfortable. We canoed all three lakes, a great way to spend the afternoon! Lake 1 and 2 are perfect for swimming. Our pup also absolutely loved it! We’ll be back for sure.

My friends and I loved staying on Matthew's land. The cabins were super cozy and perfect for our large group. We really enjoyed the lake and taking the boats out! Matthew was very helpful and flexible with getting is checked in.
Would be very happy to come back and stay again.

Nous avons passé un très beau weekend! Malgré le temps mitigé nous avons passés des beaux moments. Le campement au bord de la rivière, ainsi que les balades en canoë sur les lacs nous ont permis de déconnecter totalement. De plus l'accueil et les conseils de Benjamin nous ont été très utiles!

It was an extremely short stay due to scheduling. We wanted something to setup fast, cook some food and go to sleep so we can leave very early in the morning. The place met the expectations. It was flat and we setup the RTT in no time. 3 fire pits to choose from, privacy wise I think in full season when the trees have leaves, it is as private as it can be (we camp early and cold may so it was quite open. Michel guided us over chat and it was very responsive. The only negative is that previous campers did not leave the place better than they found it. Cannot be too judgmental on that since even us we did not picked up stuff left behind the other campers. To our defence, we arrive at 5PM and left 3AM with some rain in between. We plan to go again and do better. All in all we loved our short stay. The sound of small creek close to the campground puts you to sleep instantly.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour au Hawk Camp. Le site est magnifique, calme et très reposant. Matthew nous a accueillis chaleureusement et tout était prêt à notre arrivée. Nous avions tout ce qu’il fallait pour passer une excellente fin de semaine en nature. L’endroit est bien entretenu, paisible et parfait pour décrocher complètement. Nous y retournerions sans hésiter.

ressourcer en nature dans le calme et la tranquillité. Ou I'on peut prendre notre temps pour faire les choses sans stress. Le chalet l'essence Ciel nous
permet d'avoir tout se qu'il nous faut pour être bien. Une mezzaline pour dormir, une grande banquette pour manger à la table.
Même que vous avez un cartable avec toutes les activités que l'on peut faire dans la région.

permis de faire un bilan de 3
années de travail sur moi et de voir mon évolution de qui ie suis aujourd'hui.
La Terre du Retour en Soi est un bel emplacement. Je le conseil.
Une place où il va me faire

Matthew was very welcoming and a great host. The site was a nice and private spot tucked away in the wood beside a stream. The tent pad at the site was a great way to get off the ground during fall camping. Also the quality and quantity of firewood Matthew has for sale is much better than what's available at the local gas stations. The walk to the site from the parking area is also very manageable.

The place is peaceful and perfect to disconnect from everyday life. The cabin is really cute and comfortable, and we felt at home right away.
It was exactly what we needed for a romantic getaway, far from the city noise. We left feeling rested and already wanting to come back!

I had a wonderful experience camping at this site! The host was welcoming, and his son gave us a lovely tour of the property, showing us the docks and the swimming spots. The campsite itself was a short walk from the parking area, so we had to carry our gear, but it was manageable, and we would just pack a bit differently next time. To go swimming, we needed to take the vehicle, which was no issue. Overall, it was a fantastic stay with very friendly hosts!

Where to go
La Mauricie National Park
La Mauricie is an expansive park with outdoor activities offered year-round—try swimming, fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and more. The park offers a canoe camping circuit for campers willing to pack up and portage between lakes, with over 200 campsites accessible only by boat. There are also RV campsites, cabin rentals, and glamping spots in the area.
Parc Récréoforestier Saint-Mathieu
To Shawi’s west is a sprawling recreation site with dense boreal forests that stretch more than 120 square kilometres. The trails are an especially popular attraction, with both linear and circular trails affording views of yellow maples, lakes, and Quebec’s impressive mountain ranges. Saint-Mathieu is very close to Shawinigan, meaning it’s a quick day trip from beach campsites or A-frame accommodations.
Parc de l'Île-Melville
On a small island along the Saint-Maurice River, this park is a major Shawinigan attraction. Parc de l'Île-Melville is well worth the trip thanks to easy walking trails through the woods; canoe rentals on the river and inlet; biking paths; winter snowshoeing and cross-country skiing; and even an aerial zipline course. Because the park is just outside the city, it’s a short jaunt back to creekside campsites or a romantic treehouse rental.
When to go
Shawinigan (and all of Quebec) never truly has an off-season. The boreal forests are lush, vibrant, and alive in summer, while each lake and waterway is teeming with adventure for hikers and paddlers. Winter offers its own impressive display of outdoor fun—just be prepared for chilly temps (an average high of -5°C in January). We recommend exploring the larger parks to enjoy the peaceful side of Shawi’s nature.
