Hi everyone! We offer four tipis close to the beautiful Victoria River in the region of Lac-Megantic. It's a wonderful place to enjoy nature. There's sentier for hiking and two lakes to enjoy with a kayak. There is a bicycle available to go for a ride.
In the tipi, the wood is included as well as a bed, just bring your sleeping bags. We have a summer kitchen also for you to cook your meals!
*** sometimes the GPS brings nowhere, when you arrive in the village of marston, turn right in ch.milan and after turn left at rang 5S , you arrive when you see the ending road :) No wi-fi, no eletricity, just solar pannel, stars and joy . hope to see you!

This was one of the best places we have stayed. It was a wonderful spot with beautiful views. Although there are no bathrooms, there is a Tim hortons and grocery stores 5 minutes away. The down part was the wind blowing however it really gave that rustic experience!

Thank you Sebastien. We arrived bit late and were short of water but Sebastien provided even the drinking water which saved us a trip to convenient store. He was very helpful and kept in touch with us in case we needed anything. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The site was well kept, safe by the river and the host is very responsive and helpful. Bel endroit pour installer sa tente. Terrain plat, bien entretenu, petit foyer, près de l'eau. Facilement accessible, à quelques minutes à pied de dépanneur/épicerie. Bien situé.
Peut être un peu dispendieux lorsque seulement pour une tente, mais l'endroit en vaut la peine.
Petit bémol, (à s'attendre au fait que le terrain est proche de la ville) on entend les voitures et construction. (La nuit c'est plus calme)

I set up my tent right next to the creek, and it was pure magic. The gentle sound of the flowing water was incredibly soothing — like nature’s lullaby through the night. The spot is basic and completely wild, but that’s exactly what makes it special. No crowds — just peace.
🌿 The ground is flat enough for a tent, with space for one or two campers. It’s only accessible by foot, which makes it feel truly remote. In the morning, I woke up to birdsong and soft sunlight filtering through the trees — such a calm and grounding way to start the day.
🌳 There are a few lovely little trails nearby, perfect for a peaceful walk through the woods. One of the highlights was the cozy riverside area with chairs and a hammock — such a perfect place to relax, read, or simply listen to the water.
🌟 A big thank-you to Paule and Benoît, who were incredibly kind and welcoming. Their generosity and good energy added a really special touch to the experience.
A little hidden gem for anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy the raw beauty of nature. 💚 I’ll definitely be coming back.

What a beautiful spot! Right on the river, close to downtown but totally secluded and gorgeous. There were boaters on the river, ducks hanging out nearby and soft grass to camp on. The gorgeous willow tree provided shade and the soft breeze kept us cool. We would love to come back sometime soon!

4 nights at Back to Nature Eco-Lodging
I have too many nice things to say about this beautiful campground. Paula and Benoit were amazing and accommodating even before I arrived. It is clear they value the comfort of all their guests, and everything is well laid out and explained in the lovely little welcome pack I recieved on arrival, with a map of the grounds and a lock for the wooden cache on site. I was especially grateful for the courtesy lantern I was able to borrow for my stay (take it! I brought two flashlights, a lantern and a headlamp and still found a lot of uses for it!)
My stay in the hammock tent was amazingly comfortable. The tent is clean and well maintained. Despite heavy rains for most of my stay, I stayed cozy and dry. And a small river by the campsite made for a really nice soundtrack to fall asleep to.
The hammock tent runs cooler than most tents due to being suspended. Nights hit 11 degrees and I noticed even with my inflatable matte and camp blanket, i needed to layer up to stay warm. Insulation is an absolute must.
Highlight of the trip was the giant polyphemus moth that joined the other moths in trying to get at my lights through the mesh of the tent. It was huge and beautiful! It was a great trip, with kind hosts and a quiet, peaceful place to stay. I will absolutely book again.

What a great experience! Paula and Benoit were great hosts for a beautiful spot! We enjoyed the solar powered sauna and the rainwater shower while camping! What a treat. When to go
The best time to plan a camping trip to Lac-Mégantic depends on what you plan to do, as this truly is a four-season destination with many parks offering winter camping. Fall in the Eastern Townships is spectacular (what with all those changing maple leaves and harvest bounty), while July and August offer incredible weather but busy attractions. Spring can be a bit wet for camping, so pack accordingly.
Know before you go
- On Saturday mornings throughout the summer, Lac-Mégantic has a market where you can pick up local produce, see live music, and grab a bite to eat.
- Not far from Lac-Mégantic is a border crossing into Vermont. Be sure to have appropriate documentation should you intend to hop over to the US.
- Cell reception is usually great in the Eastern Townships, but it can be spotty once you get out into provincial parks and more remote areas.
- This area is pretty tough to explore without a vehicle, so you’re best off bringing your own or renting a campervan.
